I bought a 3x womens blouse online, when it came it was small enough to fit on a 10 yr old girl! Very deceptive! They would take it back initially, but finally agreed to, but I have to pay to ship the blouse back! My first time buying from this site, and this whole experience has been very disappointing to say the least. Never again

Do NOT consign with the RealReal. I just did, and boy, do I regret it! They offered me a $50 "bribe" to consign with them, and now that they put my clothes up, I can see why the bribe was needed. One of the dresses, for example, is a Carolina Herrera brand new dress with tags that I purchased at a Carolina Herrera store and never wore. Not only was it never worn, it hadn't even been tried on since I owned it! (My daughter felt it wasn't her look.) The dress, which originally retailed for $700, went directly from the Carolina Herrera shopping bag to the Real Real. It sold the first day they put it up. Do you know what my earnings are? 16 dollars! Sixteen whole dollars for a 700 dollar dress! They put it up without saying it is brand new with tags. In fact, they wrote, "minor pull throughout." The dress was BRAND NEW. There wasn't a single pull anywhere unless it happened in transit to them.

And the other clothes I consigned were put up with equally low price tags. When I gave them the clothes, they told me that if they don't want one of them, they'll mail it back to me, so I figured I have nothing to lose. But I see now that instead of them spending money on shipping, they keep the clothes and put them up at ridiculously low prices, so that they sell quickly. What thieves! I could have put my clothes up on Ebay -- yes, a bit more work involved -- and easily netted six times the amount I'll be earning here. I will NEVER consign with them again. Don't fall for their scam.

My recent experience has been terrible. Let me tell the tale.

I have been wanting a Stainless Rolex Seadweller for quite some time. My wife had turned me on to the The RealReal sometime ago and I have been checking fairly frequently for the past 6 months. In early January I spotted the one, great condition, with box and papers. The price was high, but I had planned for that. I pulled the trigger.

The watch showed up about a week later. It was beautiful, perfect condition. However there was one small issue. The watch did not come with the original warranty papers, the box or ANY of the collateral that The Real Real said it should come with. For me, that diminishes the current and future value of the watch. Sadly my wife and I agreed that it was not worth what we paid so we were going to return it.

Luckily for me we live in Dallas and there is a retail store here, so we figured that would be the past of least resistance. We returned the watch to the store, the sales person there was friendly and helpful. That return was nearly 30 days ago and I have yet to see the refund. Reaching there customer service is just about impossible. They keep telling me that because of the price of the item the watch needs to be re-inspected. I get that, but 30 days?

My advice to anyone using The Real Real...
1. If you have a local store, have them do the leg work. They can apparently get items shipped to their store prior to purchase. If I would have known there would be no collateral with the watch I WOULD NOT HAVE ORDERED IT.
2. Their customer service platform is awful. Almost impossible to talk to human. I would think that when dealing with high dollar jewelry they would have a vested interest in more customer friendly customer service experience
3. If you are ordering high end items AND you have to return them, be prepared to be without your money for 30-60 days. I purchased in mid-January and returned in-store within 5 days. I still have not seen a refund.

I will say. The watch I ordered was high quality well maintained. If it would have had the collateral that they said I would have kept it... and my review here would probably be 5 stars. However my experience with the return has been abysmal.

The RealReal staff members steal reserved items from online customers' shopping cards. On February 7th, around 6:07pm, I added item # LOR******* to my card; about 1-2 minutes later, the item was removed from my card without my authorization by a RealReal staff member and sold to someone else.

Was disappointed. I submitted items and was given some decent estimates. Then I guess the buyer can use coupons to get the items cheaper. So in the end, the estimate was not great at all. I can make money on EBAY and probably reach more people.

I have to say that my first RealReal experience has been very disappointing. I purchased an Ebel watch that was supposedly in good condition and also evaluated by a horologist and that it met time keeping standards. Upon receiving the watch I immediately knew something was wrong. It was not keeping time. Took into an Ebel certified watchmaker, they changed the battery, and it still did not work. I can't return it because the product was "final sale" and it is VERY difficult find a customer service phone # or email and I am left sending a Facebook message. The watchmaker is now fixing the watch which is going to cost me another $400. I would NOT recommend the RealReal to anyone. It is unreliable and it is hard to imagine that all products are actually evaluated and authenticated thoroughly and by a qualified professional.

My first two orders with this place were positive, but then I wanted to return a $150 Cuyana jacket. I returned it within the timeframe, but on my account, it says the order is not returnable. WHAT?! I started a return well before the 14 day limit, and sent it back well before 21 days, and it's not eligible for a return?! Yes, I got 20% off this jacket, but it is eligible for return because it wasn't 40% off. Why did you even issue a RMA and shipping label when the item turns out not to be returnable?

On top of that, their shipping and returns policy is a ripoff: almost $12 for shipped and $12 for returns.

HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE - They lie and bait and switch you on commission payments. DO NOT SELL THROUGH THEM.

They promised me 70% commissions, confirmed in writing. My items started selling (without my approval, mind you) and then they refused to respond to me over email, call, or text. Good luck getting a hold of anyone.

They also are holding over $5,000 of items hostage - it has been over a month and they haven't sent these items back, replied about them, or provided any update or expected timeline.

I sent in 41 items for consignment in November. A representative came to my home and picked my items up which included shoes, dresses, blouses etc- Gucci, Prada, Louboutin, Chanel, etc. 18 items were posted for sale. The other 23 were never posted. I called to follow up in Dec and was told they made an error and would provide me with a payment equivalent to them being sold. I was never paid. I sent several email complaints and it was never resolved. In January I was again told that the situation would be rectified within 7-10 days and payment would be made to me. It never happened. I am now contacting my attorney. I will never sell with RealReal again and will also be reporting them to the BBB

Excellent quality of clothes, everything is very beautiful and stylish, I like to buy in your online store, everything is fast and high quality

Here's what I think.
1st purchase doesn't get sent out for five days; turns out the pants weren't there after I paid for them and they'd said they were being prepared for shipping. My guess is an employee took them.
2nd purchase: the sweater had a hole in it. They sent me some $ back and a 25$ gift certificate
3rd purchase: Tory Burch cashmere. Hole in the armpit covered over with some glue. Am also getting tired of having to correspond with pictures and complaints over faulty product.
4th purchase: Wool Fleece pants. They were NOT wool fleece, but instead fine virgin wool. Not what was described at all. I'll keep all items because returning isn't worth the time or hassle.
Holy Smokes! 4 transactions and ALL of them faulty. Not interested in loading pictures, not worth my time. But this report covers it. Oh, and you can see the marking on the waistband of pants. Really?!

I've been buying and consigning on RealReal for a couple of years now and never had any issues with orders until this one. A delay on an item can be understandable but when it's beyond several weeks it becomes frustrating. Especially when you reach out twice to Customer Service on the same issue and get no resolution. If the item is just not available, cancel that item and issue a refund. Should be pretty simple, but instead, I was given the policy excuse it can't be done and no solution or follow-up offered beyond that. For this type of a merchant, it's more than disappointing and really discouraging to want to continue buying from.

After contacting customer service, then providing pictures confirming they sent me the wrong item with a $10 difference, different order number, and different materials, they refused to credit me the difference but did offer to allow me a return. I wouldn't trust to purchase from them again and will not refer them to any of my corporate contacts.

I shop here and there on this platform I received several times fake Fendi charms, thankfully I was able to know the difference between a fake and authentic fendi fur charm,
