The description doesn't match what was recieved. The Moschino bag was NOT pristine! The bag looks ok but nothing near description! The one tag was NOT attached! It was crumpled-up in the inside pocket of the bag. Also, the cloth dust bag looks cheap and grungy which leaves one to think this is either a Fake or REALLY Horrible inspection and packaging job! Worse part no return on this terrible purchase! Best suggestion. BE CAUTIOUS when purchasing from this site!
They use to be good But they take too long to process the items, they return items with false accusations just so they dont have to guve you the site credit, when u ask fir everything to returned since i no longer get the site credit they say its too late. Ive been denied site credit twice for their fibe print. Its a rip off. They also offer so many promotions I get $13 from something listed for $200. Go to Poshmark! It might take longer to sell but you stay in control and you get more money than Poshmark. TRR works against sellers. Too bad they use to be good. Now, in 2022, I cannot recommend them.
I was sold shoes that were falsely advertised as a collaboration with Vivienne Westwood. Was refused a return slip. The agent wouldn't admit that they were in the wrong, tried to make me pay to fix the situation. Long time customer and will never shop with them again.
This business was all over me calling me, texting me very aggressively to get my brand new with tag designer items. When I saw that they were pricing these items way too low and giving the customers a discount from the beginning. I requested all my items be returned. They claimed they shipped them but was unable to deliver which was a lie. They also have lost my items and have not mailed me back one item since two months now. They refuse to pick up the phone with the one number they give you. No customer service at all and the lady who was all over me has simply vanished and removed herself from the situation. They told me they have a claim in. They have given me several claim numbers but nobody follows up with them. Bad business I am so angry for trusting them with my items.
For last few consignments I had to contact support because of items not recorded as received, wrong descriptions, etc. the quality of service dropped significantly but I had decided to give them one more chance.
BIG Mistake!
My account manager (Jen M) sent me a label to send in my jewelry for consignment to their luxury consignment office in LA. Package gets delivered but now they cannot find it. I reached out to Jen - several times. No acknowledgement. This is beyond disappointing.
I ordered and purchased an item marketed as a youth (toddler 2-4) size 6. It was discounted and therefore a final sale. When it arrived it was a size 6 month (infant). I double-checked the listing, my screenshot of purchase, etc. and all areas said i purchased a size 6. I understand a simple mistake was made in typing in the size and have no problem with that, but certainly shouldn't be required to keep the item marked Final Sale because I ordered it under false pretenses. As it was final sale, the online algorithm would not allow me to return it, so I called and waited an excruciatingly long time on hold to finally be told I would receive a call or chat back. I never received a call back, went to bed late, and the next day had a text saying that I had been called back at 2 am (my time - US central) and must have stepped away from my phone. If I still had a desire to speak with someone, I could try again. I did and same thing- no one answers calls and no return even though leaving my information. How to rectify a problem like this? I am a long time customer and have never needed this kind of service before, but knowing that if you have a problem you can't speak with someone to get help is concerning and I think others should be aware before buying the often-big-ticket items offered on this site. Would love to feel differently!
Great idea -- I feel confident that you'll stand behind your authentications. I love shopping with you but I would not consign. There are so many mistypes and incorrectly labeled items that are never corrected. Clearly not a priority, and that's too bad for the consigner who loses out. Authentication means nothing if someone's things are listed incorrectly. I worked in consignment; it requires attention to detail and excellent customer service. While I wouldn't feel comfortable consigning art this time, I will keep shopping for fabulous, beautiful things -- I feel fortunate to have acquired a few terrific pieces. Thanks
I've been buying and selling on the RealReal for 8 years now. The site can be good for buyers, as prices are competitive. It's awful for consigners, and it got worse over the years. On average I wait for two months for my Chanel and Hermes bags to be priced and listed on the site. I ALWAYS have to contest the pricing as they will try to go as low as possible. They claim applying some sort of pricing algorithm, which is bunch of bs. Customer Support is not responsive. I often have to write multiple times on the same issue to get a response. Overall the company seems to be super shady and lacks fundamental transparency and basic customer service. I'm officially done with RR as buyer and seller. Fashionphile and Poshmark is where I'll be selling from now on.
TRR is a terrible business. You cannot talk to anyone that can help. The customer service representative reads off a script with no ability to contend with problems.
My Chanel bag has been held captive by TRR even though I asked for it to be sent back. They keep telling me they will expedite. But nothing happens. No tracking information nothing.
I will not be using this business ever again. The bag they have of mine is a $4500 bag.
Hoping it gets returned soon. Be very weary of TRR.
I ordered a pair of boots that the real real rated as "very good". When the boots arrived there was a section where the leather was completely worn off (see attached photo). I paid $1587 for these boots When I called they said they would give me a credit if $160, bringing the price of the boots to $1415. When I asked to speak with a manager they told me that was not possible. And if I return the boots which were not described correctly I will have paid $12.95 for the shipment to me and and additional $12.95 to ship them back. So I would be out almost $26. I would most likely keep the boots if they offered me a reasonable discount. This company is a complete joke and they need to be investigated!
Here is my experience with TRR. I sent in my LV bag, dust bag, box, ribbons & bag from the LV store, all in pristine condition. The "concierge" helping me had me ship via UPS with their account number. Tracking shows it was received & the date. I waited a couple of days, thinking I would hear from them. When I didn't, I called them & was given the run around about the warehouse being very busy, blah, blah, blah. A couple more days go by, I call my concierge, Nichole again (btw, I am only able to call her bc I have a number for her, specifically). No answers about my bag. When I call again she says she will create a ticket for me to find out what is going on. Then, she doesn't respond to my texts or calls again. I call & talk to someone else, who finds that Nichole still has the ticket on her desk, days later, she had not turned it in to investigate. This girl says she will. A couple more days go by, I call again this girl says it hasn't been investigated & she would take over. 4th person, Steven, says send him pictures of bag, he will see what he can do. Next morning, I get an email saying my bag has been sent to authentication & it would be a couple of weeks. (I believe normally you would know before the sell, what they would be listing it for & could then accept or have them return it to you.) Very next day, I get another email, saying my bag was sold & they would be sending a payout to me. Seems they lost the bag. Their terms & conditions state you still own your bag during this process & can have them return it to you, until it is sold. But bc they LOST my bag, I do not have the option to have them return it to me. They determine what it would sell for & pay you a portion of that. You have absolutely no say in anything that happens once it leaves your hands. Think about & then think again.
Sent in a new with tags $545. Dress and they listed it as the wrong brand and for $50. Contacted customer service to have the sale stopped and it took over a month for the price to be updated. Prior to the update I agreed on a listing price of $195. (The price they suggested). Instead of sticking to our agreement they listed the dress for $150. With 20% off. I've emailed twice trying to find out why they didn't stick to our agreement and haven't received a response. Also sent in a current style very popular pair of Frame jeans; they're in stores now for $268. They sold immediately for $70 with 20% off. And if you send an item in with the exact name of the item they'll completely disregard it and list it as whatever they feel like.
Placed order one week ago. For 5 items. After I contact customer service i was told that they couldn't
Locate any of 5 items i ordered. And i still see some of those items they offering for sale at greater price?
How legit this company is? Very disappointing.
I received an email from TheRealReal indicating a LV Alma I had "favorited" was on sale at a specific price. When I went to the site to purchase that instant I received the email the price was twice the price quoted in the email. When I emailed customer service regarding this issue I was initially told it would adjust in a day or two so I watched carefully and waited but no adjustment when I emailed I was sent into a frenzy of emails that apologize for my dissatisfaction but do not ever address the fact the email stated a specific price that the site never did, not only that they would not honor the price they quoted and worse its been over 2 months and they are still emailing me with apologies but no action. I do not believe an apology is customer service, call me old fashioned but I believe a store should honor what they state and take the hit for whoever caused the error.
Clothes in RealReal are nothing to be proud of. They looked disheveled, faded and worn just like what you get in garage sales. I bought three large-sized Polo t-shirts and what arrived were sized-large shirts that were actually 2XL in other stores. Without trying them on, I returned the items and was aghast with their refund. Out of the $72.95 that I paid for those shirts they only refunded $48.05 deducting return shipping and promo cost. This company is a sham making profits thru the return of their thrashy products.
They have my items since 4 months, still waiting for one check since march... and others two Louis Vuitton items are still pending... not possible, and when they make offers, you lose monney and they don t ask you. I am really sad. I lost money and time.
Don't use the Real Real, they put very low prices on your designer stuff and take this whole difference and percentage to them, not bad... for them! The customer service is bad (no phone representative, only robotic messages) and they don't send payment checks for your sales. Then its hard to contact and catch them! Its a total disaster and spam, stay away and sell by yourself! Be a little patient and you will make much more money and no problems with this scam service.
Legit I purchased my item and got it within a week I Love it I also set up text alerts so that I could be notified when my watch arrived and that was very helpful I recommend this site
Recieved wrong item. They don't want to refund me money unless I ship back the item. I don't have a car and this is a big hassle for me. They were also very rude to me on the phone. They were laughing from me
I had several items consigned on the site. I changed my mind on two items, one being a pair of Chanel because it took over 6 weeks to have them list on the site which made no sense to me since I sent several items at the same time as those shoes and they were all listed on the site within 10 days. When I asked for them to send back my shoes because they couldn't explain why there was such a delay. They returned them without the box or shoe bags they were in. This was done in two different instances. The first time I didn't make a huge deal out of it although they communicated something like that would never happen again. But after the 2nd time I realized this was done I realized something was really wrong with their service. Afterward, I ordered a pair of shoes in my size and what was shipped to me was another size. Because they were on sale they were fighting to not allow me to return and receive a refund which was ridiculous since it was their error in advertising the wrong-sized shoe. I have yet to hear back from their team on my missing shoe bag and box or why this has happened multiple times. I advise anyone using them to be mindful that they lowball your items even when they are brand new or barely worn. There are many other consignment sites to use that provide much better service. If needed I can share screenshots of the conversations I had with the Real Real representatives and how after a month I still haven't received a response or resolution to the missing packaging.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
