Great follow thru, I appreciate the efficiency in helping me with my credit issue. I didn't expect the issue to be resolved so quickly so it was very much appreciated.
I am a new customer of the Real Real, and have now purchased several items, happily! I don't know all the in's and outs and had a question. I was so lucky to have Jamillah answer my call. She was helpful, insightful and will keep me coming back again and again to your site. She simply made my day with her answers, not making me feel at all uncomfortable, not knowing all of the workings of The Real. I now think I'll start to consign too!
Rep Jamillah was excellent in taking on looking up the reference number to my delivery and all aspects of needed information. I asked to be given to a manager and Jamillah immediately took on the problem with all the right information. It could have been very easy to pass it on but she didn't hesitate for a minute to do the research herself.
I buy and consign frequently on The Real Real and have done so for three years. I purchase two to five times a month and have consigned over 150 items.
MY ADVICE FOR BUYERS:
Know your measurements! Sizes are less important when shopping across designer lines and most measurements given are fairly accurate. Know your measurements for your waist, hips, bust and the breadth of your shoulders.
Never buy anything that is less than VERY GOOD condition.
Look for jeans and pants... these are usually sold at a huge discount.
Create feeds and check them regularly.
Do your research and compare and contrast. If you can find photos elsewhere on the web of an item or learn additional sizing information, do so.
MY ADVICE FOR SELLERS:
If you ever plan to consign, always keep your tags and receipts and dust bags. Items sell at a higher price when tags are included.
Try not to get your feelings hurt if they reject an item.
THE GOOD:
Vast selection. Speedy shipping available. Most items are returnable. If you learn how to navigate TRR, you can acquire a killer wardrobe at less than half the price.
THE BAD:
High demand items are priced comparable to new retail prices.
Overnight shipping reaches me only about 60% of the time. It often takes longer.
Customer service is not great. I have waited 30 minutes or more and finally hung up.
Sometimes TRR loses an item after you purchase it. It has happened to me on four occasions, including this particular order.
Good luck;-)
I been long enough purchasing from The Real Real for more than a year. Always happy with big smilingvwhen opening box. However, this time, purchase a final sale LV jacket was very disappointed. Full of damage all over, surprise how it got approve to be posting out on the site for $789 even facial sale price? Was worried about no return on that since it mentioned on site. After explain to customer service lady. I ask her to first looking up my previously purchased history than we talk about it. And she resolved my issue with proper refund and with her professionalism through out the call. You got me staying with you guys! Good job and good company knowing how to train your customer service, which is the front solders of the Real Real.
Jamillah went out of her way to help me and make sure that the broken earrings I received ($2500 broken earrings) could be repaired and then discounted the sale appropriately. She was thorough and complete. Thank you Jamillah!
Jamillah listened to my Concern and immediately took care of it.
This was sincerely appreciated!
She is an Outstanding, Customer Focused Real Real Team Member!
With appreciation,

When I had problems with the delivery on one of the items I purchased, Jamillah B. Was extremely helpful in getting the problem resolved. She should be commended on her hard work and dedication to customer service.
I would not purchase any furniture from them. Their customer service As well as their third party delivery service is anything but professional.
I've had multiple delivery dates scheduled where they do not show up or call. Called customer service- no apology, just reimbursement. Awful and a waste of 10weeks waiting.
Jamillah was so helpful. She understood my request easily and she had a very nice artitude. It was much appreciated.
The Real Real customer service is excellent, this is why I have continued to shop. Unfortunately my last purchase did not fit. Jamillah quickly and calmly assisted me with providing me my return label. She was personable in her voice and conversation and made me continue to enjoy my day.
Sunglasses are a favorite accessory. I love the fact that they recycle items and what a great way to buy some new specs without outrageous prices! I have had nothing but great luck in buying sunglasses from them. I like that you can zoom in and look at the condition of the lenses etc. My only complaint was that the Prada case with my sunglasses did not magnetically close well as it should have, but other than that, my experiences have all been great.
I ordered a bag that was listed as a Gm size from Louis Vuitton. It was final sale. When it came it was actually the Mm size. If I had wanted the Mm size I could have gotten it for $300-$400 cheaper. Emailed customer service twice and never got a response. Will not be ordering from here in the future since they can't seem to get their details straight and customer service is nonexistent.
I needed to b REFUNDED ASAP Janelle is very kind n understanding helped me right awaway I'm very grateful for her help. She was able to catch the order n canal it asap so I would not have to be charged
Very friendly staff and great customer service! Happy to use this they provide their best service to every customer i will recommend to every one!
Worst website and customer service. They have no credibility. I bought a CHANEL BAG for $4,000 and the description of the bag was totally different from the one I received. They did not mention it was the vintage model and the condition was not good. The price was so expensive and they did not let me return the item. They did not even replied to my emails. WORST WEBSITE.
I can't speak as a seller because I've never listed anything for sale, but as a buyer I've had nothing but very good experiences, even when returning an item. The prices are competitive with other sites and the pictures are very accurate. Honestly thinking of becoming a "First Look" member!
We sent TRR 3 Louis Vuitton bags to consign with them.
As we didn't agree on the selling price they returned us the 3 bags.
Now all Louis Vuitton booklets are missing!
One bag which was brand new, came back full with grease stains!
I try since 2 weeks to get somebody to help us out with our issues
THEY DONT EVEN DARE TO ANSWER MY EMAILS!
I emailed their customer service 5 business days ago and followed up after three business das and I still haven't heard back. They have horrible follow up to inquiries, even if they promise to follow up. You have to continually bother them until someone addresses your issue.
I sent some items, one includes a Chanel bag that I purchased from the ReaL Real within a year. I sent it back in the same condition it was sold to me which was described as very good condition. When I purchased it, it came with the authenticity card, box, and dust bag. However, the serial number sticker was gone. I used it one time within a year for a couple hours. I noticed the bag stayed in authentication for at least a week. Being that I purchased two fakes from them before and had to be refunded, I wondered if this bag too was a fake. I noticed a note on my sale's page a not saying not accepted. I called to find out why it was not accepted. The consign rep stated authentication department noted excessive wear which is certainly the untruth. The bag has no notable damage at all. It's been three days now, since I was transferred to another department in co-signing to work on this matter for me. I have yet to get an email or a response. I was told they take about three weeks to sends your not accepted items back. My concern is that the authentication department is not being honest about the bag I bought from the Real Real and why they won't resell it. My bag has no notable damage at all. It's in the exact same condition I purchased it in from them within a year time. My concern is that they sold me another fake and are refusing to accept their actions and chose not to resell it. Which if it is fake, I would not want them to resell. But I would like my money back. There are certainly some integrity concerns and I do not trust this company anymore as I have bought fakes from them, as well as have noted fakes on their site in an LV tag on a Neverfull. The bag was sold to someone already. I requested they reach out to that customer to refund them. But I will never know if that was done. However, to state the Chanel bag I bought from them and sent for resale has excessive wear is a lie. I have pictures.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. She is available from 9am to 6pm (EST) and of course you can reach us via email at: [email protected].
Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
