The representative comes to my apartment, looks over my items, walks out with bags full of designer merchandise. Almost immediately the first item sells - a Supreme item that is easily valued at $1,200. Before the item hits the website, it's been sold for a measly $345! Someone that works at The Real Real just got themselves quite a bargain! A few of my remaining items were arbitrarily priced and are now posted on the website. A half dozen other items were rejected. I've seen nothing of them in weeks, despite requesting them being returned.
We do a ton of business with The REALREAL. Every month that consigned checks are due on a Sunday, they do not deposit consigner's funds until the following week. It is disgusting and beyond bad business practices. All otherCompanies pay the Friday BEFORE the pay date lands on a weekend. Also, check your consignments daily. They tend to mark items down 50% when the item has only been live on the site a short time. If your item is not selling, ask for it back and sell it elsewhere-Poshmark, eBay... wherever or send it back to them at a later time.

I've sold many things on the Real Real and made as many purchases. Never again. I consigned an 18kt gold necklace currently retailing for $2,300. They listed it at $895 despite my emailing them disagreeing, not approving, the price. I tried calling them tell them I was not approving the price and held for more than 15 minutes. I emailed at the suggestion of my sales person. The Real Real never responed. A week after my email they went ahead and listed the necklace, and no surprise, It sold the same day. Gold holds its value far better than clothes and it should never have been listed at more than 60% off. Someone got a "Real" good deal. I on the other hand, I got a horrible deal. Along with the necklace I sent in an Omega watch which was returned to me for service, in pieces. The back was off the watch and I have been unable to reattach it.

When I first encountered this company they had amazing prices and quality merchandise, this was years ago. They have gotten so overpriced... why wouldn't I purchase it new? The last product I bought was a gucci belt and it was in less than stellar condition the belt itself was tattered(did not look like that in the photo)... I have recently read an article regarding the Real Real selling fakes this is completely disappointing but believable. The prices have become a joke, I really hope they will reassess the pricing and try and improve the quality of customer service.

Knowing how much elite crap I have in my possessions, it becomes obvious that I could do well trying to purchase (at a huge discount) the marvelous excess belongings of others in my boat. TRR is the only spot I'd trust on bespoke designers and epic possessions. It's so hard to beat, why bother. Shop the stars, not the retail sales.
I loved the Rag and Bone denim dress. It was in pristine condition. It arrived quickly in time for my vacation.

Very satisfactory online shopping experience. Like the authentication. The shoes were great. My feet are not and hard to fit. Return went well. Fun to shop Real Real.
Experience was not bad but the shipping and handling is quiet a bit expensive especially when you have to pay to return the item that you purchase.

This site is absolutely remarkable. I love the great prices and choices. The order process is easy and to be able to afford high end items I normally couldn't afford.
I find it ridiculous the amount you charge for shipping. Most places have free shipping let alone charging $11.95.

Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
