Found several designer items at great prices. Best part is I can try them on at home and decide what to keep.
I'm a long time shopper and consigner on the Real Real but there are problems with this site. Every time I call I'm on hold for between 15-20 frustrating minutes. When I ask questions of any substance or. Ask to speak with a supervisor they have to check with their '' support team". The descriptions of the items are lacking important details. Some clothing items have dimensions and others don't. Every item should have a chest, waist and length measurement. Consigned items are received and it takes forever for them to appear on the site. Very frustrating.
Of five recent purchases from TRR I returned just one. Two were either pristine or in excellent condition, as described. Two were clearly used, ("very good") with flaws such as loose yarn ends on the neck of a cashmere sweater, loose tags, curled hems. But they were good enough to keep and repair, and from quality designers.
The returned item was skinny denim pants from The Row, identical to one's I own and love, but without any elastic in the waist. The description noted the elastic waistband but my item had a stretched out waist and no elastic. Very disappointing.
I ordered two ties that were listed as 3.25" but when I received them they were 3.75". It seems illogical that I have to pay $11.95 to return items that were clearly labeled incorrectly and not accurately advertised. This has cause me to reconsider whether I reorder future items because I lack the confidence they are described accurately.

After I received my sandals, there's a huge mark that wasn't in my expectation.
Clearly that the price tag underneath shows that it's been displayed in one of their stores, which makes its condition way worse than original description, and they refuse to answer it nor admit it.
They only offer 20 box and there's even a hilarious expiration date.
Like seriously, would you purchase at the same store in 60 days when you just had a extremely upset shopping experience and useless customer service?
I believe asking a permanent site credit is not a over demanding request, however, they don't give a fxxk.

One item didn't meet my expectation, listed a very good condition item but it was well used. This time the packages came on time. Didn't like to pay for shipping.
I ordered a LoveshackFancy dress which I have many times before. I received the dress and as usual loved it! On getting ready to try it on I noticed there was a small hole in the shoulder of the dress that wasn't mentioned in the description and thought ok, I guess I can live with that. As I took a closer look I found another hole and notified TheRealReal. They offered a discount credit or to completely refund my money which I did chose to do. I really wanted this dress but decided on a refund as if I was to sell the dress, I am more than sure the price would decline tremendously. They immediately made the arrangements. I was very happy and will continue to shop TherealReal!
I have bought many items that I were better then I expected
I received a CD bag, when I ordered it the description said Good, however, it never stated that the fabric on the handles was ripped and tearing! I never would've bought that bag

I didn't know it is illegal to export your products so UPS called me to ask me for another address in your country instead of arriving at my home in Mexico like last time, so I'm not going to be able to buy anymore.
Love searching the site for interesting deals and finds. Descriptions are accurate, and high end jewelry is professionally and reliably appraised. Service is excellent. Whenever I've had a problem, TRR has been very accommodating.

She has no desire to help me nor did she care that this is the 3rd time in 2 weeks that's I've used next day air and my item has gotten lost. I asked to speak with someone else repeatedly. No help. She shouldn't hand me off. Said there was nothing she could do.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
