I got a sim card and can't get any service. I get no bars, just an E. I can't make calls or texts. Totally sucks.

Every year right in Nov. DEC THEY say we have to update. Every year I click on that button. I end up having to get a new number. It deletes all my contacts. I was told by another phone company that's they way it works. I think its awful but some don't care to have 2 and 3 phones. So it's convient but yet so incontinent.

I sent a few group messages to ppl saying Happy Thanksgiving. I assumed this set off a spam alert. I message them on live chat. They say sorry your account is deleted and cannot be recovered "under any circumstances". You cannot get your conversation data either. Not "without a subpoena". I hope this place burns to the ground. 6 months of important conversation data gone. So unprofessional to tell people you have a new number. UGH

I had textnow on several devices so are my friends. But we had to uninstall optt out. Completely. Due to several reasons will name just few 1. Textnow will send you text none stop telling you use it or your number will be deactivated. 2. If you text or call using textnow you can never ever delete or block or remove history of calls including spammers calls or texts. Textnow app is not worth using at all.

I had an account and Text Now Closed it without warning & WITHOUT reason! I feel targeted. This is NOT ok to disable a person's account when they haven't done ANYTHING wrong! If I could leave a half a star- I would!

Great app until a few months ago. Will terminate your free account without just cause stating you violated the terms of service. No further information, just terminate. A friend attempted to create a textnow account only to be rejected for violating the TOS, and she never even got the chance to fully setup the account and never received a free text number. Do NOT be tempted with this bogus app.

I had my textnow account for several years and even paid for the verification code service. My account apparently violated their terms of service even though I texted my friend and then couldn't text her any more. There seems to be no customer service number to reach and have been unsuccessful in resolving this. It's basically a scam because they take your money and you have no way to get it back or anything. I loved textnow until they did this. Can't count on them anymore.

Calls rarely come through. And if they do, you can't click on the call. It'll just come through and eventually turn into a missed call. This company is quite frankly the worst and I hope they go bankrupt.

At first the service was wonderful. I felt that this company truly cared about bringing service free of charge. I truly needed this service. 2019 is when the service began faltering. It never was got better. Though I eventually had no reliable service I soon regretted that I had no way to cancel the premium service that I had upgraded to. Worse more, TextNow has been charging my registered bank card monthly ever since even though they have many Tech Help records which indicate I the has not been in operation for more than a year.

I have an annual subscription from Textnow starts from Sept 2021 - Sept 2022.
But on Feb 2022, they unilaterally denied the service.
When I contacted their customer support person Jason, he refused to service and denied to refund the money. Pathetic.

Overseas support leads to garbage support/service. A rep wanted me to restart my phone while I was on chat, don't know what geniuses they hire but that is ridiculous in itself. I used to love this app but it has really gone down the drain.

This app is amazing. I absolutely love it! Both my mom and dad have Androids and i have an Ipod, and Ipods can't call or text Androids, so I really appreciate this app, because now I can text them! I highly recommend this app.

Don't need major carriers anymore! You can overrides locked sim cards that force you to buy monthly plans. Good connections and easy set-up! Finally free from contracts, minutes used, and sales offers. Forget about Tracfone - they are dishonest and advertise:"no monthly plans, no contracts and no surprises" - THEY LIE! All the major carriers will charge fees for monthly plans. My phone from Tracfone sim card was locked, but TextNow set me up with a phone number and everything I need for FREE! Best service for escaping all the scam carriers. Emancipated from Tracfone and their false advertising. Amen.

Have been trying for weeks (months) actually to get help. Texting does not work; the SIM card I paid for is now showing as a landline (so is what I believe is the fundamental reason can't send or get a text. (which is discovered myself). Except I CAN send one from/to the TextNow number itself. I try multiples to get a chat agent when CLEARLY within the hours posted but only get in a do-loop with the BOT. It sounded like a good thing, and I recommended this to a number of people. Now I am embarrassed. I am in the process of finding an alternative, but it also means informing the hundreds in my contacts list of a new number. Sigh. 2nd time. I went from a TextNow number that only worked on wifi... to paying for one with a SIM card so I could use it on the road. So I had to tell the 1st number... and now again.

I was joking around with a friend using a new number pretending to be someone else and i may had used some profanity which got the account flagged and removed. Had a long time account and they banned my account. Will they do this to your phone service they provide? I think so. Not good. This is my review and it is truthful.

The app was ok, great for texting. Then I decided to pay for a year to secure my number, this allows me to get Confirmation emails for websites. No sooner that I paid for this service they terminated my account saying that I violated their Terms of Use but they could not tell me what violation I made. I was doing the same thing that I had been for a couple of months. Their support is only available by Chat and it is horrible, they did not want to do anything to help me.

I would rate minus if there is an option. I needed two phone numbers that were easy to memorize and fortunately they let you do that. So I kept refreshing to pick a good number since it's allowed by their website and that's still fine till this step. And then I started another account to pick the second number, that's when the problem happened, it kept saying error and they disabled both of the accounts and CS agent refused to answer why did they close accounts permanently. All these made my sim purchase become useless. Stay away from such a company.

Real trash. Lost number and account is suspended for email verification. Want to delete my account but no such option. Support stinks (some stupid Bot that is probably better than live support if they had one). I am surprised at people that call this free service. Get some self respect. This excess overload of intrusive ads should never be called 'free'. Coverage is very poor in my area, I can only use it with 'WIFI Calling'.
