After I inbstalled the sime it kept trying to recongize the sim forever. When I called that number from my other phone some one else answered. Trying to call my other phhone from the text now phone did not work either. I saw a lot of ads and found this to be a total waste of time and money.

I had injuries at my jobs since I was buying, harassing and evicted unlawfully I decided to try different numbers from couple company text now it's one of them I got this number since 2018, someone making sure hacked on all numbers I have, just to make sure who I am talking too,working 3 jobs in nursing home not get hurt on the jobs people keep hacked on us those number was hacked by someone and one was taking away *******987 and *******962 is hacked long time ago and the watts app from *******962 was taking away by someone no access on it

So I ordered a sim card from them and it said 5-7 days. I never received it. Text Now kept sending me texts to activate the SIM Card. Well how can I activate it if I never received it. I tried and tried to get a refund after they let me lock my number for 3 weeks in a row which is no good if you don't have a sim card. This is just another scamming app

They let me have a great number with great service for years. Then they deleted my account and chime and Google stole my money. Because I can't log in to my account.Its not right I want my money you stole my money, give it back dammit.

It clearly says it will provide you certain services for $6.99 a month. Once you go to the screen to add any services it says in small letters $6.99 a week. Smh

The main reason I made this review is because of one thing. I tried to use a phone number to keep my Google account safe so I put my Textnow phone number into where it was telling me to fill it in and then went to Textnow because it was telling me enter a 6-digit code in a text I was supposed to receive. Instead I received a text telling me that in order to receive verification codes I have to "upgrade my account" with a link. I click on the link but nothing happens. Like why do I need to upgrade my account? Why can't I just receive verification codes like any other texting app? So that concludes my summary. Basically if you use Textnow for texting and want to use a phone number for recovery of your Google account you can't for some stupid reason.
Hi Audrey, thanks for your review! For security, free WiFi-Only TextNow accounts are not able to officially support verification/short codes. Ad Free+, Lock Your Number and Wireless plans do support verification codes.
I was foolish enough to order a Sim card to take advantage of their so-called free cell phone calling and texting service. After activating the Sim, I was unable to receive calls or make outbound calls. Their only customer service provided is via chat by a service somewhere in India. The individual on the other side of the chat with me was never able to understand that my problem was with the cell phone and Sim card-based service not the app. No matter how many ways I explained it this individual did not get it and actually disconnected with me abruptly to get rid of. It's five dollars and some frustration lost but the lesson is avoid this business like the plague…..

At first it was wonderful. They had a family plan and I was able to refer people for credit. For years, I was able to add my husband, my non profit business, my 2 stepsons, even my daughter and son. Now, they did away with family plans and I'm left with over a $3300 credit I can't transfer to my nonprofit business or any other line. To even things out. If I would've know it would be like this, I never would have chosen TextNow. I actually have us mobile now. And I love it. It's cheaper than TextNow. Unlimited everything

To make a new account, you have to download the android /ios app. I find this very anoying because of 2 things.
#1:They make you do this to make them look better. I say this because the more downloads the app has the more unfairly obtained users they will get
#2:i dont have an ios/android device and it is really anoying because i had to use an emulator to get the service. This is extra frustrating because my pc has an amd cpu and bluestacks doesnt work. It bluescreened me 20 times beofore i gave up. Overall textnow is a big pile of $#*!.

They just made the site not functional anymore. All I used to do to get in was log into the site and now they took that away. NOW, I HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE FREAKING APP AND HAVE IT USE UP ALL OF THE FREAKING SPACE ON MY COMPUTER. The worst part about it is that they just sneaked this in without telling ANYBODY!

THE MOST ANNOYING THING IN THE WORLD is that sometimes you get ads that play so loud and violently DURING your call. All day today I have had Nordstrom ads popping up sometimes three at a time all playing at the same time. It's not a normal volume, it's so loud it will give you PTSD. Now I'm going to get PTSD every time I see the store name Nordstrom. Out of principle I will never go there again. I love buying my Estee Lauder products there...next time I'm going to Macy's.

TextNow cancelled my subscription for no reason and on top of it failed to reimburse the subscription fee. Customer support is so poor and unsupportive to the limits. You cannot expect anything helpful from them

What a nightmare. So I deleted a google email address. Then I discovered after that it was used to login to textnow. An oversight. Simple to fix right? Think again. Textnow has my name, my credit card but are simply too lazy or perhaps too mean to assist me. So no access to my number. And they are scheduled to charge me on July 13 to lock in my number. The one I cannot access. Be very careful with this company. I made a mistake doing business with them. Don't make this mistake. There are legit businesses on the net. This is not one of them.
Messages won't be stored last 3 months. I was talking to people over a year but all those conversations are deleted. Even if I log onto my account from a desktop, it's still gone.
I can't send or receive calls or send and receive texts from my most frequent contact.
Text messages show up in my notifications but when I go to click on the message it's gone. It could never be retrieved.
Very stupid. They updated it and now it's just bad and terrible and awful and frustrating. I had for a while before and it pretty good. But that years ago. Now is updated and bad. It doesn't even let me login or make an account and none of the buttons work. I don't know anything after that because it won't let me in. Also, I was doing that I was trying to call somebody in an important situation. But who cares. *sigh*
To all the people saying it's awful, well duh, it's free and goes off WiFi. It says poor signal and drops calls on WiFi, even at home. You have to at least make a text once a month or they drop your number. They send a text warning. I wouldn't really recommend this to anyone, but if you absolutely have to make a call it works. My phone is off, beautiful thing about that is people can still call me on my regular number. However, if I miss the call...I text them on the app, call, or just use the house phone
They completely suspended my account for no apparent reason. I had my bank accounts, and all other personal accounts linked to my textnow account. Now i cannot access anything.
I have had text now and my own phone number through them for years probably close to almost 10 years and I use it as a second never personal for when I'm in a spot that my phones not working but I have access to Internet so the texting and phone calls great never had any problems with them until first of January and I tried to make a phone call and it wouldn't go through so it froze up which it has done a couple times and I just uninstall it and reinstall it and apparently I violated the terms of service or their agreement and I don't know what I did I filed an appeal never heard from them so they've gone from really really great I think two so bad they suck I wouldn't get them now at all I'd look for another one even if they did come back and say it was all good can't get a hold of customer service

Answer: Well well well, u pushed the right button. I don't trust them at all. They tried hardly to get a photo of any of my government IDs, together with a photo of my credit card pretending to verify my identity and they rejected all other means for verification including calling my bank.
