The overall reputation of the company reflects a mix of positive and negative sentiments. Customers appreciate the convenience, product variety, and competitive pricing, particularly praising the store's layout and exclusive brands. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, with reports of long wait times, unresponsive staff, and issues with online orders and returns. Many customers express frustration over outdated products and perceived indifference from management. These trends suggest that while the company offers a strong shopping experience, substantial improvements in customer support and service reliability are needed to enhance overall customer satisfaction.

In person, I LOVE target, can't stand Wal-Mart, but Target has such a horrible online shopping experience for such a big corporation. Shipping is disjointed and inefficient. Very disappointing online experience.
I have ordered merchandise online to be picked up at my local Target store. It was shipped promptly, and it was easy to pick up from the front of the store at customer service.
All around great company, and you almost always get excellent customer care.
Awesome brand; like there advertisements; there pricing is about 10-12% higher then Walmart but i prefer to pay that for the convenience of a clean and organized store and friendly staff.
Target is the one store that our family depends on to be able to buy everyday essentials. Compared to Walmart, Target is heaven!
Target has to be one of my favorite online stores! Awesome Service and Products
Although store is good it seems not much attention is on website
The Salvation Army performs a non-discriminating support of the poor, homeless, and destitute. There is no religious test, and no proselytization to be helped. They need funds all year, and once a year their store Santa bell ringers do their passive thing in front of stores during the holidays, but not welcomed at the bigoted Target chain for years now. The Salvation Army has consistently the lowest overhead of any charity in the world! I will never trade at Target or recommend anyone else to do that as long as they rebuff the Salvation Army fund drive.
I am a target shopper. I would rather shop there than Walmart. I can't stand Walmart!
In Comparison Target is so much better. Better customer service too. When my Daughter was little she was on very hard to find Formula. My husband and I found 2 large containers there that were cheaper than other stores. I asked someone who worked there, (yes we actually found someone) If they had anymore, at these cheap prices we were sure to buy more. Instead of saying what other store tend to say, " Whatever is on the shelf is what we have." The person politely said sure let me look in the back. We met them at the register and the gave us a whole case, and a discount! Talk about great service! From then on we bought formula there. No matter what I buy online I get it cheaper too. Specially with there pick up in store policy. You can buy online and pick up in store, no shipping fee. Great for school supply's! Of course every store is different but have personally never had a bad experience yet. :) Please shop at Target, Not Walmart. People are so much nicer and chances are things will be cheaper too!
My friend and I joke that you cannot go in Target (or shop online) without your bill being under $100. When it is, we rejoice. You may walk in needing one thing, but then see the sale rack and walk out $100 poorer.
I only recently decided to shop at the food store in Targets because I had been told the produce was expensive & not that good.
That information was so wrong. There is an extensive range of fresh fruit, better than any other stores I shopped in & the fresh meat & fish was of really good quality. I love to cook so I now adore this shop. The Chicken kievs are particularly nice.
Try the fruit & vegetables there is everything you need & its is on display looking so eatable.
I buy a lot fro Target as it is the only large chain store in my area of business. Over the years the prices have risen probably due to the massive fashion marketing and stocking of semi-designer labels. Very over priced I'm always shocked on every single item there in the recent year. Avoided if possible because I already know I can get the same item half the price anywhere else.
Terrible service online. They messed up my order 3 times. I just gave up and told them to give my my money back. I asked where they were located because something was wrong, there was an obvious disconnect with online customer service and the way Target corporation does business. He told me they were located in Nicaragua. They are well under trained. I am very disappointed that Target outsourced jobs like this and as a result the service is terrible.
I'm sure this sounds anal or petty if you're reading this, but one of the things that absolutely drives me nuts is when a cashier asks me: " If I found everything OK."
It's one of the most profoundly inappropriate and stupid questions for a retailer to ask a customer, and here's why:
When that question is asked, it literally means, "did you find everything you brought up to the check-out stand OK."
It should be obvious to anyone that has a mentality of at least one point above plant life, that the customer MUST have found the merchandise they've brought to the check-out stand OK!
Their prices aren't really all THAT competitive either.
I've switched to shopping at Walmart.
At Walmart, the check-out experience is always positive and you don't have to play "20-stupid questions" with the cashier!
Another thing that irritates me (and many others) about Target is that English is NOT REQUIRED to be spoken on the floor. The amigos who work there are almost always speaking Spanish, and sometimes loudly if there is a distance between the two.
It's RUDE and very UNPROFESSIONAL.
My daughter works at Target so I can shop from home, get the items delivered to her store and she brings them back to the house. SCORE!
I hate this site. For being such a large corporation you'd think they would have a decent website/online ordering interface. First of all, the site rarely loads correctly. When it does, they tell you they have something in stock, you pay, wait for shipping, and then they email you telling you it's actually not in stock. Yet half the time it is, they basically just cancel your sale for no reason. This has happened more than twice to me. I refuse to buy anything else on Target.com ever again and recommend no one else does either!
It seems like every retailer in this class tries to carry everything these days, and Target is no exception. They are a little higher priced than Walmart, with a little less selection, but most things are a bit higher quality. Chances are, you'll have a bit easier time finding help with your purchase, too.
The latest addition that I'm aware of is a grocery section. Not very large, limited selection but *different* than some of the other stores around, and decently priced. Adjacent is a Target liquor store, with similar selection and pricing characteristics.
On the whole, I think its a step up from Walmart, and lots cheaper than the stores in the Shopping Mall. If your needs are pretty ordinary, then Target is a good places to satisfy them. If you want something more unique and/or higher quality and are willing to pay for it, then head for the specialty shops in the nearest Shopping Mall.
I have so far used ordered on-line Target pick-up service twice. I only go to Target for specific items and at that infrequently because I find I waste too much time in large stores. With pick-up you can pick up at off hours and your goods have already been placed in bags for you. The first time the cashier thankfully noticed, a similar but wrong item was placed in the bag. I appreciated her catch. I find the customer service crew a more highly experience group than those on the cash registers (the front lines of fire). I also find it easier to stock up using on-line pick-up shopping. One snafu is that the pick-up store setting on the site is confusing, I had to reset each item for the store I wanted rather than have it immediately set to go to my home store. Must be using some zip feature that is setting a distant store.
You get the best deals ever. They new stuff all the time.
I always go to target now, sick of the crap from ebay, will never buy from ebay again.
Well done target, your customer service has always been excellent
Answer: Looks like Target has sent a lot of ringers here to up their ratings in the last few months. Nice try guys but your whole shopping experience is still subpar. To answer this question, IT DEPENDS on where you live and what you order. If you're right next to their warehouse, SURPRISE, it's there in a day and you think they are fantastic. If you live far away, the item is no longer in stock or they are slow to fill it, it could take six weeks. It did for us on a couple of occasions, SO it's the luck of the draw and certainly NOT better than Amazon.

Answer: Be careful. If the item suddenly becomes unavailable that you already paid for you will have to wait 30 days for your refund.
Answer: Sometime from other sites, malware can be picked up to track your internet history. I don't think target's website would carry that!
Answer: I'm sorry. I ordered a lot from target.com and never had a problembefore, but when I finally did have a problem... hours and days on the phone. One of the service techs put me on hold for 30 minutes. Another put me on hold for 15 minutes and then hung up. Horrible.
Answer: I was unable to purchase a prepaid phone card with my gift card. This fact was not disclosed in the product description so I found out at the checkout when it was too late. Now am stuck with the useless gift card. I am very disappointed in Target shopping and will never buy anything from them ever again. I do not recommend Target shopping to anyone. Spare yourself some aggravation and shop elsewhere. Enough said.
