T-Mobile Reviews Summary

T-Mobile's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from perceived deceptive practices regarding promotions and service quality. Many customers report issues with billing, unresponsive customer service, and difficulties in resolving problems, leading to frustration and a sense of betrayal. While some reviews acknowledge initial satisfaction with service and product offerings, the overwhelming sentiment reveals a trend of distrust and disappointment, particularly concerning support after the sale. This feedback suggests a pressing need for T-Mobile to enhance its customer service approach and better honor promotional commitments to rebuild trust and retain customers.

I called the 800 number to inquire about switching to T-Mobile from my AT&T service (which is even worse then these guys). I heard that T-mobile is a great company, blah blah. The man on the phone offered me a pretty good deal stating that T-Mobile will pay off my contract with AT&T and I will have wonderful service from here on in. He charged my account 60.00 dollars even before I got off the phone with him for 2 sim cards that he was sending out and all I had to do was put them in my phone and watch? (seriously?). I believed him-ok. I went to the T-Mobile store and the rep couldn't believe what the guy from the 800 number told me. He informed me that I had to pay 800.00 dollars for my phone and 341.00 for my watch up front and then T-Mobile would reimburse me. Not only did I not have the money (I would have had termination fees as well), the man on the phone never mentioned this once. Done Done Done. I am now trying to get my 60.00 refunded and they just refused after being on the phone for an hour. The woman said that the fee was none refundable. Buyer Beware. I am telling my story to any sight that will take my review of this rip off of a company. Don't do it

I hate t-mobile if I could give a -5 star I would this is the WORST company I ever in counter they are liers and thefts! Long story short it started when I pay 64 a month. I up grade my phone, I returned the old device back in October29th, they lied said they didn't have it, so up until March 29 they billed me of 107.00 why so high?! So I told them that I want my phone one I have now to be payed off and unlocked so she did as I thought it cost me 311.00, still phone is locked I called again 2 days later they told me that I never paid and that money went to my bill that was 107 so what the F*** happen to my 200.00?! Oh they stole it so I started to scream at them for my phone that I returned that THEY SO CALLED COULDNT FINE! For my bill and them stealing my money that was supposed to go to the phone and didn't I threatened them that I will sew and take them to the higher corporation, all of a sudden magically they found the phone how convenient! Still wouldn't do anything about my bill and told me that they "couldn't pay my bill" mine tou this my nearest store is about 30 mins away as of today I dumped this pos place never again

COVERAGE STINKS
April 1, 2022

The T-Mobile coverage map shows that I am covered in my rural Georgia area. FALSE. I only get a connection about 3 times a day for 1 minute each time. It also shows that Macon, Georgia is also completely covered. WRONG! I drove through Bloomfield Rd and another area while listing to a radio app, and was disconnected for several minutes each time. STINKS.

USELESS
March 31, 2022

I am a Court Appointed Conservator, VA Appointed Fiduciary & Health Care Proxy for a disabled Veteran. I manage everything for her. Her phone is broken. I pay her phone bill. She requested a new Flip Phone from T-Mobile. With phone password, pin & last 4, I spent over 1.75 hours the other day and could not achieve upgrading her FLIP(!) phone. TODAY, even with phone number, password, pin & last 4, T-Mobile would not release her account number. Will NEVER again do business with T-Mobile. We should be thanking Veterans for their service - not making their lives increasingly difficult. I will have to transition her to a new number. Thanks for NOTHING T-MOBILE. If I can not say something positive, I usually do not write. I am just completely taken aback by their response and do not wish this on anyone.

Crappy service
March 29, 2022

So I had go this crappy phone so I traded it for a newer phone, I had return the old phone back in September of last yr and they still charging me for that phone I had called numerous times to fix their problem, they would tell me that it was never in the system I been fighting with them on this. They would tell me to drive back to the store to track the phone mind you this I do not live close to the store it is out and far from me and definitely waste of my time and my gas! I was just on the phone with them once again because this time they up my bill so yet again paying for something that I DO NOT HAVE! And now this with my bill I told the lady if they do not fix this problem that THEY made then I will go to the corporation and told her that this is fraud and stealing! Where the hell is my phone that I return? I am so glad that I'm leaving this company. If I can give a no star I would!

When I upgraded two iPhones in my group to the iPhone13 and airpods, I was told the airpods are free. That was all over tv commercials as well. Now t-mobile is charging me for them saying that they used the wrong promo number. I ordered the promotion on the phone so, even if what they are saying is true, it is their fault that I am paying for. Be careful when you believe t-mobile's promotions. I will switch to a more truthful company as soon as I can.

Told me my bill would be no more than $175 a month, but ended up being double. (My bill somehow perfectly adds up to what it would be without my promotion. So i dont think they are giving it to us like they say we are). Gave us wrong info about in-mail phone trade in and ended up losing our phone without providing any curtousy credit for losing it even though they said they would. Each customer service representative does not understand what you are saying and will repeat the same things over and over again. One service rep got very snippy with my fiance and was very quick to get an attitude.

September of 2021 we switched from Verizon to t mobile with the guarantee that if we were dissatisfied in any way we could return the 2 new phones and owe absolutely nothing. Took phones home and had no service unless walking to the road in front of our rural home 164 feet away. Very next day returned the phones and canceled our contract, and returned to Verizon. We watched the person at tmobile box up the phones for returning. 2 months later without ever receiving any notice from tmobile we got a notice from a collection company that we owed over $1000 for a phone. Went back to the store and got that cleared up. There mistake, it got misplaced. In February again without ever receiving a bill from tmobile we got a notice from collections that we owed $219 again from tmobile, after numerous calls to the service department, the collection agency and the store we were finally told by the collection company that the amount was for tmobile to switch us over and 1 month's service. We finally gave up, not wanting this on our credit report. So one day service with tmobile cost us $226.98

Awful service now.
March 16, 2022

Ive been a customer since Voicestream. Ive never had too many issues until 5g.
I called in because my service had performance issues. I was told my s6 was too old? I was told I could trade it in, for a new Revel 5g for free. So I said ok. I got the Revel, and it was junk right out the box. I also wasnt provided any labels for returning my phone. I called and asked for labels several times. Finally I was told "just keep it" then, Revel after only 2 or 3 months just had horrible service, tmobile said they would send me a new phone free. I got A32. Awful. Poor reception, terrible wifi, poor screen response awful memory and system and disgusting amount of bloatware takes up full 1/3 of advertised memory which is bull$#*!.
So heres where it gets nasty.
Tmobile uses foreign countries for customer service. The folks have very heavy accents, dont listen to even 1 goddamned word you have to say, and are barely understandable. They also apparently will openly lie, because they are incentives to sell phones, and zero consequences for being dishonest.
Heres where Im at...
I still have my S6. They never sent return label. Now, their story has completely changed, and they claim they never have mailed labels, and I had only 20 days to return phone, so..." theres nothing they can do" I have been charged full price of Revel, remember it was supposed to be a free trade. I have also been charged for the A32 which, was supposed to be the replacement for the dead Revel. And get this... after complaining, I was told that "all they can do is accept the A32 being returned, and they wont CONTINUE CHARGING ME FOR IT, but all, Ive been charged will not be credited or refunded" which would then leave me with no phone, but a phone bill, and Ive been extorted into paying for 2 phones. So too CONTINUE SERVICE, I WOULD THEN NEED TO PURCHASE A WHOLE ANOTHER PHONE...
Oh... and the kicker of it all, turns out theres no 5g towers near me, so tmobile was full of $#*! from the get go. It was their bad service not my s6 that needed upgrading.

During the Thanksgiving holidays, there was a "promotion" whereby if you had an XR you get a trade-in credit of $800 and then pay off the balance of $200. That's what was told to me by a Tmobile employee at that time. This promotion was too good to be true so I went online and it did say that's their promotion for black Friday. I decided to proceed but after every Tmobile store I entered, I would confirm with all their employees that the "promotion" was solid! They all reassured me. Fast forward to February, my bill is charging me the price of the regular $1000 phone and I call to ask and they claim I had to be on the Magneta plan to qualify for the $800 trade-in. However, not one employee stated that when I was at the store and every other store I went into did not mention any plan to me. I went to the store where I bought the phone and demanded to see the manager but they turn me down and tell me to call customer service. Now customer service states they will give me $100 for the inconvenience?! Like excuse me, your store MESSED up saying I will receive an $800 credit for a 13 pro and I pay $200 and now you are telling me I did not qualify but you will give me $100 for inconvenience?! I requested a higher amount because they were in the wrong and the customer service put in their report that I rejected the $100 and didn't even put that I had requested a higher amount for their mistake. I call back and they state, they cannot give me $100 anymore but rather $50. And I have been with them for over 20 years. At this point, I will gladly take them to court if I have to. They are treating me very horribly for a mistake they made.

Bad customer service
March 15, 2022

I was not unhappy with T mobile until I switched to Xfinity for a better deal. T mobile billed me for a full month's service even though I canceled a few days into the service. I called customer service and explained the situation and agreed to pay the amount owed for the service received. I figured the matter was closed amicably until I got another bill for the balanced remaining plus a late payment charge. I refused to pay and they turned the amount due over to a collection agency who in turn filed it to my credit report. It's not the money, it's the principal of the thing. Not to mention the 25 minutes on hold attempting to correct their mistake. You cannot trust this company, they will try and screw you.

Worst Reception ever
March 14, 2022

WORST RECEPTION EVER. BAD FOR BUSINESS CUSTOMERS!
We had for 8 years a business account with Sprint with 4 phones and were very happy with it without any problems. Now its T-Mobile and we had to switch out the sim cards. What a difference. At all the important places we are constantly going, even in our home we have very poor or NO reception. If we try the mobile hotspot we have NO internet. What the heck. Not that we would be in the middle of nowhere. It is right in cities and populated areas. This is a totally useless service for us. They will probably charge us an arm and a leg if we want to get out of that contact.
Best coverage my $#*!!

T-mobile cold blooded
March 13, 2022

Two years ago my ex girlfriend brought me a T-mobile phone. They tricked us with a discount that never happened, anyway too late we brought the phone. My girlfriend passed away, even though I made all monthly payments, my name on the phone, they're cutting it off with only 3 more payments! Oh well, they lose money not me, I'll sell this apple phone, get another and move on. I'll never buy T-mobile, don't do it I'm telling you!

Infuriating
March 12, 2022

I asked T-Mobile if I had the lowest rate; that I had found a cheaper rate from Spectrum. The Chat rep said he would get back to me. Every two minutes I got an assurance that he was working on it. Fifteen minutes later, I told him I would only give him two more minutes. Four minutes later I thanked him for helping me decide to leave T-Mobile. He replied that I had their cheapest plan. I go to the Spectrum store. They say I need to pay off my phone. I go to the T-Mobile store and pay it off. I go to the Spectrum store. They say T-Mobile did not release my phone. I return to T-Mobile: Oh, we can't do that here. Call 611. I call. What's this about? There's a long hold time. Want us to call you back when we're ready? Yes. 30 min later they call. And put me on hold for 18 minutes. I then ask them to release my phone. Why. So I can leave this hellish company. What if we give you a discount on your new phone? No. Release my phone. Well, let me pull up your account. Oh the computer is slow today. Let me put you on hold. Ten minutes later. I need to transfer you to a different department. What can we do to keep your business. You have wasted so much of my time, I will NEVER do business with your company again. Finally they release it. I return to Spectrum. What's your T-Mobile account number? I call 611. It starts again. 20 minutes of pain. Why do you need your account number. My computer is slow. Hold. Only my supervisor can give you your account number. How can we keep your business. GUYS, THIS IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY.

No Service
March 12, 2022

I have a friend that lives in Lake wales Fl has a phone and bought a hot spot for $300 and is constantly without service for days and days. When he went to TMobile they show him a map of the amazing coverage in that area and that is just absolutely not true. So he is paying a phone bill monthly and cannot use the phone. When we talk periodically the sound is lagging can't hear have the conversation. This is a just a horrible carrier and would not recommend this carrier to anyone at all. He is going to change to AT & T
