T-Mobile Reviews Summary

T-Mobile's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from perceived deceptive practices regarding promotions and service quality. Many customers report issues with billing, unresponsive customer service, and difficulties in resolving problems, leading to frustration and a sense of betrayal. While some reviews acknowledge initial satisfaction with service and product offerings, the overwhelming sentiment reveals a trend of distrust and disappointment, particularly concerning support after the sale. This feedback suggests a pressing need for T-Mobile to enhance its customer service approach and better honor promotional commitments to rebuild trust and retain customers.

Billing
December 28, 2023

My experience with T Mobile the worst company that I have dealt with in my 76 years. I went.to the Mechanicsville Va store and got the internet gateway to try for 15 days
I could not get a good signal to far from tower. I took it back 4 days later and was told we won't take it back and to drive another 30 minutes to another store where they took it back. That's only the beginning I started getting charged 55.00
A month for 2 months on credit card.I called and they said they would take care of it. I called again two weeks later and they said it would be taken care of
I called again and sorry.it would be taken care of and today I get a collections notice for 110.00
I called again and asked to speak to manage and got no satisfaction. I just filed a complaint with the Attorney General Office,BBB and FCC to have this removed from my credit report. I will never go near a t Mobile office again
Ps I received a bill for 95.33 for equipment. I received a email from Marty ceo of the response team telling I returned the equipment on 11/16/23 and not on 10/16/23 and he would offer to erase the 95.33 if The claim was over. I sent the receipt for the return showing 10/16 now that's the ceo of the response team can't even get it right. I made him a offer to have bills showing zero balance and a letter from the so called non collections company alliance saying zero balance is owed.

So they could not help me fix my phone service because my phone did not have service to receive the verification text. They messed up entering my new phone info and they could not help fix it because my new phone didnt work to get the text. Makes no sense at all.

I canceled their service in July 2023 found out they kept charging my card all the way until December 2023 called customer service and even they were perplexed as my account had been closed but they kept charging me. Had to go to a store with my SS card and ID to sit there for an hour talk and with a specialist which I agreed to actually pay 3 of the BS months and be refunded the rest to find out they did refund it but sent the rest to collections even though the specialist said they would put a credit on my account to cover the last month only for me to receive a collection letter 2 weeks later for the last month. I thought maybe that was their mistake and it should clear itself until today. I just received a letter from a collection agency for the month of December and additionally January! I was literally on the phone with the agent and the store representative when they both confirmed my account was closed (again!) and with a credit. I have read numerous accounts of this unethical and illegal practice. If this is not rectified I will absolutely join the thousands of people asking for a class action lawsuit to address this matter and address this on any and every platform I can. I have never been so disappointed and disrespected by a company. How dare you to even end each call to ask me to to reconsider your company in the future

I would not recommend TMobile, NO No No. Unfortunately, the customer service is in the Philippines. They transfer the line over and over, and I have been on the line waiting for 45 minutes. The representative finally picked up the line and still could not resolve the issue with the phone line. I have been trying to get customer support to resolve the technical issues and the billing, They overcharge the account almost every 3months. Anyway, it is a long story, just would not recommend T Mobile. No No No. They should hire knowledgeable people from the United States. I am going to look for another provider.

Worst Offshore Foreign Customer Service
December 27, 2023
Updated review

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. If you have any issues, you will have little chance at getting any resolution with completely incompetent offshore customer service in Mexico and Philippines. They will run you around in circles and refuse to let you speak with managers, supervisors or any US personnel. I hope the US leadership of this company will read how pathetic and ineffective their customer service is.

Date of experience: December 27, 2023

Offshoring customer service from a US-based company to the Philippines is the absolute worst decision any company can make. Corporate fat-cats don't understand that non-US based personnel have no clue how to deal with Americans nor understand how to solve anything. They will just pretend to solve a problem after waiting an hour to talk to someone, and then the problem will reappear the next day just to be told by the same customer service that they had no way of ever resolving the problem and the last rep gave the wrong info. There is no hope left in large phone carriers. Once Sprint was eaten by T-Mobile, that was the last of the US-based customer service. Now, none of the other large carriers have U.S. based customer service. I hope more people will express their disgust with this type of offshoring.

Woefully incompetent, incoherent staff mostly India or China. Couldn't get my old number transferred over to new account after several hours of trying with clueless but meticulously proper support.

Back in August I added a 2nd phone to my account for my wife from T mobile. It was suppose to be free for a charge of less than $80/month...and it was for 2 months, but then the bill went up $33 for the phone. Customer service can't fix it. I am completely dissatisfied and feel CHEATED!

So I switched Internet to T-Mobile Internet expecting to get these deals. I was promised along with me changing my plan which I ended up not getting. So they lied to me which is fraud and promised me free Netflix, which I did not get and then that didn't even change my plan. I had to call them back and have them change that again after they charge me more than they said they would. They kept telling me no worries. It was fine, but it was not fine. They lied. When I called again, cause I was told no I would get Netflix a month later again I did not get it and was lied to again so I asked to talk to a supervisor. I was told the supervisor would call me back and has never called me back and it's now days later. T-Mobile has been fraudulent and full of lies and a rip off

Incredibly Incompetent!
December 20, 2023

A warning to prospective and current T-Mobile customers...Reconsider this company as your provider if you expect to ever get a phone unlocked and able to be reused. (despite all of their specific criteria being met) - All customer service calls get forwarded to a call center in India where they have no idea how to correct common problems. The primary goal is to prevent the call from being escalated to the floor manager. Even after it is escalated, the managers don't know how to correct common in-house issues. Even more unfortunate is the fact the local T-Mobile employees who are extremely helpful have no control over this as T-Mobile has implemented a system which prevents common issues from being resolved. Most customers give up and purchase a new phone from a new carrier. Currently I have over 24 hours invested in an attempt to get a single phone unlocked. The wonderful local employees at T-Mobile (Erik Farmer and Matt Maes) have also spent in excess of (7) hours attempting to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, they also have to contact the call center with the same results. I have an appointment tomorrow with an attorney to discuss a possible lawsuit. I have several other people I know with the same problem. My discussion with the attorney will discuss the possibility of a class action lawsuit as I'm sure there are many other past customers with this issue.

Horrible Service
December 19, 2023

This has to be the worse customer service of all cell phone providers. Every mistake made by the unknowledgeable customer service representative is pushed back on the customer financially. In this day and age where companies are going out of business left and right one would think this company would provide a decent service/product. Can't wait for them to stand in the unemployment line! I would not recommend t mobile under any circumstances!

Activation Fee
December 18, 2023

I have been a customer for at least 25 years. And have always been happy with them until yesterday. I went in to buy my granddaughter a phone which I raise. And noticed tax was way higher than it should of been, So I questioned it. They said its a one time activation fee of 35 added. I said since when! This is my phone number that I've had for years and we are switching the sim card over. And so the argument began. I will also mention I haven't worked in months because I've been busy fighting cancer. So I had to get in my bill money and take out the other money. This is nonsense. My husband and I both need new phones too. But they just lost two sales. I am going back to buying off of market place or Craigslist. Very very disappointed in this practice that started last year. And the lady waiting on me said it's always been that way! Wrong! I said I can't wait to get my survey when I leave the store. And for the first time ever they did not send me one.

T-Mobile does not honor payment agreements that they make with customers. I am ending my 10 year relationship with the company due to this. They initially agreed to a specific billing amount & 4 months in told me they would no longer honor it even though it was entered by a supervisor. The supervisor named Evan. I spoke with assured me there was no sense in complaining or speaking to anyone else as the would not change this. I have been on autopay for to years so there has never been an issue with me paying my bill. Just recently I spoke with the chat service on 12/2 and they advised that they had adjusted my autopay to take out the $55.50 owed. I then spoke with another supervisor named Ranier because my notifications was still showing the wrong amount being deducted. Ranier assured me that he had fixed the issue and I had nothing to be concerned about, well the Autopay has deducted $85.50 today instead of what was due. I am ending my business relationship with the company as it's been extremely stressful dealing with the dishonesty and after writing to corporate with no response, I know that my business is not valued. So buyers please beware. This is NOT the company I joined 10 years ago. This company does not care about their loyal customers as they no longer need them. I have written to customer affairs weeks ago and have yet to hear any response.

Stay away from T Mobile.
December 12, 2023

Overall, I have been pleased with this company until they recently have become a customer service nightmare. I was misquoted fees for my service and there has been absolutely no accountability on T Mobile's end, they just do not care. I am relieved we won't be coming back nor will any of of family and a few of my coworkers's that are fed up with their service. You are truly JUST A NUMBER to them and I will sleep better tonight knowing they will be losing tens of thousands of dollars due to them just flat out not being accountable for their deception. Good Riddance!

Bait & Swtich
December 10, 2023

The oblivious president of T-mobile (i.e. Their inept marketing department with incompetent employees with no accountability by their inept CEO, Mike Sievert) keeps sending marketing emails to their clients, promising great deals and free subscriptions, but in reality most of the clients do not get such deals if they're not subscribing to the more expensive plans by T-mobile. Somehow because I have the 55+ plan, I apparently do not qualify to get any of their promotions even though they keep emailing me about them. The incompetence of this conglamorate is outstanding!

This company made multiple verbal contracts with me and followed threw with none of them. There staff will lie to you to get you to agree to terms without signing anything then fall back on there original agreement and stick you with a huge bill you never agreed to. Then to top it off this company is utilizing all out of country servers for phone calls giving multiple agencies from other disrupt countries all of our personal information and passwords. I truly hope you read this and educate yourself before sending this tyrant of a company your money

I was supposed to be getting a phone for free. I paid for the new line to be added. They charged me for it. But never delivered my phone. Instead they screwed up the address and it was sent back. Instead of calling me to tell me. Very unprofessional and would definitely not ever recommend T-Mobile to anyone.

Worst Company EVER
December 6, 2023

I don't even know how they're still in business. I switched to T-Mobile over 3 months ago and I still have to call weekly because they keep screwing up information and don't understand what I'm saying when I call customer service. This entire company is just a SCAM. Biggest waste of my time and money. I will never recommend T-Mobile to anybody.
