I purchased a phone through Swappa, but turns out it was incompatible with my provider. Shipped it back for quick refund, no problems. Both Swappa staff and seller were very responsive and helpful. My bad - should have requested and checked ESN first (not just with Swappa, but with provider). I'll definitely shop Swappa in the future.
The purchase experience was very fast and easy. The whole thing felt very secure. I will definitely use Swappa in the future to buy another phone.
Great seller. Prompt response. Phone is as described. I would recommend to buy this from seller.
Buying and selling on Swappa is far and easy. Swappa has become my goto site for buying and selling cell phones.
When my most recent phone's screen shattered I needed to find a replacement phone that was affordable and convenient. Swappa was a very user friendly website and provided excellent feedback from other buyers and sellers that helped me identify the best phone for me! The staff was responsive and followed up quickly and professionally.
This was a gift for my daughter, and there was a problem between Swappa and Paypal that made it impossible for me to modify the shipping address even after adding her address to Paypal. I got confused enough to head to another page, and started, then cancelled a transaction for an identical phone from a guy with the same name as the one I was purchasing from. Swappa support was not only not apologetic, unhelpful, and unwilling to take responsibility for their failures but threatened to blacklist me for backing out of the second deal.
My issue was not that I wanted the seller to ship to an address "different than the one on the PayPal transaction." The initial problem was that
1) Swappa was not as vigilant in warning me that I could not send to an address that was not confirmed by paypal. This warning should be a pop-up or in large red letters before the redirect to Paypal.
2) When I first returned from Paypal page that populated the address did not update. It left most of the the addess fields both blank and uneditable. The Swaapa rep later told me where were problems with the interface and that I should wait.
3) After I added my daughter as a confirmed paypal address, there was still no way of choosing her address. Even after the screen was eventually populating with my own address there was no way to change it.
I felt very comfortable using Swappa to purchase 4 iphones for the family. I had 2 issues that were immediately rectified by a return and refund, and the other provided a credit for a mistake sending a different phone. Swappa staff were available to assist with problems.
After a gruesome slip and fall sent me to the ER, insult was added to injury when I discovered my truly beloved LG G2 died a tragic death. Swappa to the rescue! They do everything to make sure a buyer knows what they are getting: In my case, a newer model at a fraction of the cost it would have been to get a new phone. With Swappa, you can buy used with confidence.
As described, good seller feedback, good oversight by Swappa staff too!
Got a Gear 2 to go with my Note 3. Love them both. Both were mint with a great price.
Great follow up and expedient service from seller.
I got a spectacular deal on a used iPhone. Swappa was there every step of the way to ensure the sale went through and everything was as described.
Bought at this site Iphone 5. Very happy with everything!
I love Swappa to buy and sell devices. It's dead simple and trustworthy. I've purchased multiple iPhones and Android devices in addition to selling one. Swappa makes it easy!
The website is simple & intuitive & I really like being able to see all email communications between the involved parties. Makes for excellent transparency. The men & women of Swappa appear to be very particular about what & how a product is advertised & that's a huge sales point for the consumer. I have recommended them to many others.
Swappa has been really great. I've purchased two phones from Swappa. Both phones were in great condition. Exactly as described. Delivery is fast and it's much more comfortable than eBay and Craigslist!
Amazing website with very low prices for quality product.
The swappa team and all the sellers that I have had the privilege to work with are great.
Swappa has always been very easy to use and facilitates good cell phone transactions.

Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - [email protected] Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.

RA, PayPal's policies for buyer and seller protection dictate shipping policies; not Swappa. It doesn't sound like there was a problem between Swappa and PayPal at all, rather that you wanted the seller ship to an address different than the one on the PayPal transaction. This would have voided the seller's protections, which we certainly can't recommend. We can't be apologetic about PayPal's policies, or recommending seller's stay compliant with them.
If there was a problem with the PayPal address they provided to the seller and Swappa then perhaps this complaint would be better aimed at PayPal?
