Hotels or restaurants do not care if you have documents stating that your dog is a certified ESA. They can and will deny you. We unfortunately had to learn the hard way.
I kept receiving emails and ended up paying more than I originally intended. I got like15 emails after signing up wanting me buy more stuff. I am glad I got the certificate but it could be more straightforward.

It's been more than a month since I bought the full package for my service dog and I'm still waiting for his vest and other accessories, apparently it was a logistical mistake but it's still too long, I think the problem was his website.
