I had originally posted a very negative review about my experience with Stuffed Safari because of an extremely delayed order and what seemed to be a half-hearted attempt to fix the issue at hand. When one of the co-owners of the website was made aware of the issue she immediately called me, fixed the issue at hand, and refunded my money. I am extremely impressed by this 'attack the issue head on attitude by the ownership of this company and will be purchasing from them again because of their response. Bravo Stuffed Safari!
I placed my order in November 2013 to have shipped as a Christmas gift. They shipped a partial and never notified me that 1/2 of the items would be shipped late. All correspondence said it would ship within 10 days. They took my money via Paypal and I'm having trouble getting it back. As of January 3 2014 they have still not given me my money back for items we never received. I will be filing a claim in Small Claims court as this company has absolutely no customer service.
I ordered an item two weeks before Christmas, thinking that it would arrive no problem before Christmas. I was wrong. I had not updated shipping info, so I called the Saturday before Christmas and they were not working that weekend. I tried the following Monday, but they were closed for a few hours for a Christmas Party. Someone did call me back a few hours later and said that their processing time during the holidays can be up to 10 days. Seriously!?! Perhaps if you worked weekends and didn't take elongated breaks you could cut down some of that wait time. Also they told me that one of the four items won't be in stock until next year so they weren't planning on shipping it until the order was complete. No communication or anything... they just were happy with shipping it next year. I will say that their selection is great, but until they learn how to run a company I will not order from them again.
Sorry I didn't read reviews before ordering, called to make sure item would arrive in time for b-day... no problem 5-7 days. Well they didn't even ship the item until 8 days after ordering! Child was verrry disappointed and so was i with this company. I will never order again and tell everyone about my bad experience!
I have made several purchases from this company without any problems. I like them because they have well made, affordable products. Shipping has always been done in a timely manner. I recommend them.
I placed my order over three weeks ago and I'm still waiting for my package to arrive. I am an "international customer" but it concerns me that after my item has left the States, it can no longer be tracked... I now have no idea where my package is. I ordered from stuffedsafari on Monday, and after reading all of the negative reviews here I became concerned. I anxiously awaited shipping notification which came on Tuesday, and today, Thursday, my item arrived safely at my doorstep. My fox is beautiful and new with tags, as expected. The invoice does not have any credit card information, so that's good. All in all I am satisfied and would be happy to order again. :)
Ordered item. Three days later, was told the item would take at most 1.5 weeks to ship. Emailed them after 10 days, asking for update. Was told it would ship by the end of the week. Received email two days after this, saying item wouldn't be available for another month.
I wouldn't recommend bothering with this website unless you're ordering two months in advance of whenever you need your item(s).
I ordered a stuffed animal for Valentine's Day. It got delayed for weeks and then I called the place and they told me it would be here the next week. I would be able to give it to my girlfriend for her birthday, but then it got delayed again. Two day shipping is turning into three weeks and counting. It is turning into a hassle trying to e-mail and call to figure out when it is going to get here.
Like all people say, the items that appear available were not available and it took them to ship my order almost 3 weeks. But I liked this site because they have good selection and provide the items at lower price.
It sure took them to ship my order way more than I expected, but they told me via e-mail that my order will be late and suggested me to cancel the order if it is time sensitive or exchange the unavailable items to something slimier.
If their inventory management was better, I would give them 5 star.
I honestly don't know why this website has such horrid reviews and by the looks of the reviews, it honestly seems like people just don't know how to shop on the internet and then have one bad experience and make a review about it because loyal shoppers never seen to make good reviews. I honestly felt the need to order from this website to either see if the service was that awful or just that it's nobody knows how to online shop. I review as a hobby I can also say. I review restaurants I've visited that are ran by family business just as I have reviewed the variety of products I've bought since I've purchased many, many things over the years online from plushes, to games, to DVD's, to jewelry, and much more from a variety of websites and I can guarantee you that 95% of these websites are all about customer service because if customers aren't happy, they don't make money.
This business is family owned and they care very much about their customers. Which should be blatantly obvious that Shannon has taken her time to create an account here and responds to the various reviews on here. If that doesn't cry, "I care about my customers!" Then I honestly don't get what does. As an eBay AND Amazon seller myself, I can vouch that sellers do try very hard and mistakes may happen as I've made some mistakes when selling online as well.
As from my own experience, I HAVE received emails from them. They're automatic, so if you didn't receive them... You flat out don't know how to internet and misspelled your email. I ordered a plush on sale that was the very last one in stock on Saturday late in the afternoon and it was shipped this afternoon (Monday) via Fedex with a tracking number. I call that fast service since there's no post on Sunday. The first email summed up said, "Thanks for your order. Here is order number." & it CLEARLY stated it usually takes 1-3 business days to process the order and up to 10 when very busy. Shipping time is NEVER a seller's fault. You need to call USPS, UPS, Fedex, etc. My second email stated that it was shipped and provided a tracking number. Mind you, each number stated that you can always email them or call their toll free number, which again... cries out, "I care for my customers!"
Take it from someone who orders from China often, I wait weeks for packages sometimes, but the website always sends the package out the next day. It has to go through customs if you live in another country and it's still the shipping company's job to get it to you.

I ordered 16 small stuffed animals for birthday party favors on 11/13. The next day I received an email saying there would be a delay with my order as some items were out of stock. Fine, I didn't need the items until 12/14. On 11/28 (maybe 11/29) I called to inquire about my shipment and they told me that two of the items were still delayed and they would ship the rest of my order first, and then ship the other two items separately after. Great! I got an email stating my order had been shipped on 12/3 and received it on 12/6. Two items were missing, and on the invoice they were marked "discontinued, refunded". This was not okay since I needed 16 items for 16 children. I placed a new order that night and then called the next day to ask if they could refund the shipping, since given the choice, I would clearly have chosen to substitute two items instead of being refunded. The woman on the phone was quite snippy and kept telling me that they had given me a coupon already (they had, but it was for 10% which worked out to a couple dollars, and that coupon is easily discoverable online), and they could not refund my $9 shipping. In the end I resigned myself to paying $9 shipping which is a very high percentage of my total cost, due to their poor customer service decision of not giving me the choice of a substitution in the original order. I only hope that the new order will actually arrive on time.
I have looked at a few reviews here and got worried about my order, i placed an order Wednesday and still have not got an email yet... im just wondering is this normal? I was really hoping that I would have my order delivered before Christmas day. Im not on for judging because of what I hear so I decided to give this company a chance. Is this a realistic time to get the order when I live in Ireland and why have I not got an email back yet? Please need a bit of assurance.
I ordered a box o' foxes. One of them was out of stock unfortunately, and I'm still waiting for that one. I don't mind being patient, I understand they are trying their best. It would be much better if out of stock items were listed as out of stock on the website, which seems to be the cause of most of the frustration here.
Anyway! They did ship the rest of my order, and even drew a fox on the box like I asked. Awesome job. I've noticed that one of the owners, Shannon, is actively responding to reviews. I think that shows how much she cares, taking time out of her day to respond and actively try to resolve any issues others have.
I ordered my stuffed animal a month ago. After receiving no response or shipment, I emailed them. They finally got back to me and told me that the shipment would be sent early this week and that they upgraded my shipping at no additional cost. Then this morning I get an email stating that the product is out of stock and it would not be available until the first week in November. This place is HORRIBLE.
I've ordered off this site a number of times, both small and large orders and have always recieved my orders.
I don't mind waiting 2-3 weeks for my orders as I'm in Australia and they usually arrive earlier than I expect anyway.
There have been a few times when an item I've been after isn't available, but they offer to email you when the item's back in stock (I got one of those emails a few days ago).
The only negative thing I've experienced is a TY beanie Lion I ordered didn't look as neat as the picture and has a blue logo button on it not shown in the preview image; though that is more likely a fault in TY's manufacturing more than Stuffed Safari's, my fiance adopted the lion as his own anyway when I didn't want it so it worked out in the end!
I'm actually planning on making another order from the site at the moment, I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews on here.

I ordered an animal for my girlfriends birthday on in the beginning of June. I recieved an email saying it was out of stock and it would ship when it got back in. It could be up to a week and a half delayed, but now its been two weeks and still haven't gotten an email saying it was shipped or recieved the product.
The product was shipped 3 hours after I ordered it, and it arrived (in Suffolk, England) within 1 week. First class service, no problems whatsoever.
My product arrived in good condition. Shipping was longer but it's understandable being that stuffedsafari is just starting out. This is not a fraud site!
I ordered twice from this site. Both times for items for my daughter's baby shower. The first order was acknowledged and then I was advise that it would ship within a week to a week and a half. It arrived in about 2+ weeks but that was plenty of time for the shower. On March 21st I ordered 3 additional items from them. Once again I received an acknowledgement followed by an email saying that the items would ship in a week to a weekend and a half. On April 6th I called customer service and explained that the items were time sensitive and needed by April 12. I was assured that the items would ship on Monday, April 9th and be received by the 11th or 12th.
On April 12th I received an email telling me that the items had shipped that morning. Obviously, they weren't going to do me any good when received. A subsequent email told that the item would be received by the 14th. They weren't.
Although the website seems to have a great selection I cannot recommend the site. Their customer service is not helpful and the "family" that runs the business seems to think cunstomers' needs cam and should be ignored.
Use this site at your peril.

Answer: Hi Mary! The cat does have a setup inside to make a purring sound. There is a bit of a learning curve to the sound device in order to produce a realistic-sounding purr. The sound maker consists of what I am guessing is a ball inside of the puppet (it's inside the puppet so it can't be seen). The ball rolls back and forth across what sounds like a ribbed surface to make a purr-like noise. We do not collect any duties or taxes for Canada, but depending on the size of the order and where you are located, it is possible that the Canadian government or your local government may charge a duty fee when they deliver your package. You asked in your question if we could justify the emails regarding "regarding snippy customer service, late arrivals, misinformation on stock of orders, and horrifying return policy". In instances where we have genuinely disappointed customers, any justification that I could give really doesn't apply. If we failed, we should fix it - plain and simple. And in these instances, we did work to fix it to the customers' satisfaction, but unfortunately it's not often that someone will make the effort to come back to a review site and update their post. I can tell you we will do what is necessary to remedy a problem, whether that means disciplining an employee, bringing in deeper amounts of inventory, moving to a bigger warehouse, changing vendors, etc. We are always looking for ways to improve our business for our customers.
