I hardly find any site even near to steam games in terms of collection of games and fast delivery services.
I play steam games a lot but i need to admit it i'm addicted to it xD I bought more then 30 games on steam and it cost me over 300 $ but i sold my old games and made a profit of 600 $ for 10 games (Until Dawn, Uncharted 4, Gta V...)
You get your own library and can store all steam games you buy right in the library so you don't have to worry about game codes, you just click on your stored game and download it... then when you have finished playing that game, just uninstall it but it remains in your stored games library for some future date. The store has a HUGE amount of games and hardware to buy too.
Steam is great for pc gamers all alike. You'll never get bored of finding a game to your liking. Its like the heavens of gaming. Everything you can think of for old games on there.
Good god... I've been waiting to review this for so long!
Firstly, amazing service! Downloadable games available 24/7, with a speedy download (even for my rubbish internet), and chance for Mr. Casual Game Developer to get noticed with his projects, I think it's fantastic.
Since it's launch, Steam has created a community for gamers, developers, photogrophers, videographers, reviewers, socialisers, and on a personal level has introduced me to so many people around the world who I now speak to on a regular basis!
And to explain the title of this review... there are so many Steam Sales; 50% of here, 20% off there, 90% off over there, that I have no money left... but so many games to play they won't fit on my screens... yes... plural.
Awesome game platform and now refunds are possible, so you cannot get cheated. Love it GambeN is the coolest guy in the interwebs.
They have competitive prices and run lots of sales on different games regularly. Just create an account and start buying and playing games. All games are linked to your account so you never lose your games. Unless you lose your account login information. Butt it is easily recoverable. I have yet to deal with their customer service Kama so I am unable to comment on that aspect.
Always offers the best deals. All games purchased are easily viewed in an organized manner. Fast and prompt process, gets you down to playing your game in mere minutes!
No network is perfect. But steam is pretty good. Still can do better though
Large margin of pc games piracy in the western countries has been conquered because of Steam. That alone is worth 5/5
Obviously it has a huge catalogue, big community, addictive features. With pc gaming you can never be 100 % sure if the game in question works on your computer. Buying the game through Steam instead of buying a dvd from a shop or a download from some quirky developers website makes it a lot more probable.
Steam sometimes rarely has some problems connecting online, but I've always managed to play the games offline when that occurs.
I've heard that the customer service is not great but you know what. I own over 100 games and i've never needed it. With game and controller problems you can usually turn to community and get the answers there.
I love Steam Sales! I always go nuts during them. Steam outside of that though can be a little bland. It's essentially Netflix for videogames where there's a lot of content but not necessarily a lot of, uh, quality.
My son loves Steam but beware if you buy something online. Make sure it doesn't save your payment information because we got charge for something my son was I my looking at with no further authorization needed... no bueno!
I have purchased about 10 games from steam and the service makes it easy to download your games to any Pc and save your game progress. Just remember your passwords their security is tight and resetting passwords can be a pain! The only time I have had real difficulty with steam was Christmas Day, when I would guess the servers were overwhelmed with black ops downloads!
I bought 2 games during sales and got them in a few minutes. Everything worked perfectly, from the download to the instalation and the games themselves. I spent 4$ on The witcher 1 and 2, that were around forty-something before. I'm very happy with my purchase and will buy again.
I can get all the games I've been wanting to play but didn't want to pay full price at the game stores.
I have no complaints about Steam! Yes, I do of course have complaints about specific games within Steam, but Steam itself as a service does a great job with what it is intended for; buying and playing games on PC! It's easy to find games you like and the service even suggests games for you based on your interests. These suggestions are surprisingly accurate, as well. There is clearly no other PC gaming service that I would ever use over Steam. I would even venture to say my experience with Steam is better than that of PlayStation or Xbox!
I love that there is such an option. I'm a big gamer myself, so I hang here quite often.
As a customer service representative, I spend all 16 hours of the day playing peggle. I wish my wife would come back.
When steam first came out, it was pretty universally reviled by the gaming community. The notion that you had to be connected to the internet to play single player games was pretty mind blowing for alot of people. Now that everyone has always-on internet connections its not a big deal, and steam is actually useful for keeping your game collection in one consolidated place, along with getting new game recommendations and reviews. I've also read they are pretty good about paying developers, and don't try and screw them the way other publishers do.
