I've just been charged AGAIN! This time no idea why or for what reason, I previously had been a PRO, thought I had downgraded (they don't make it obvious/easy) and then got charged a year later for the service, when I emailed, they said no refund, check your T&Cs and essentially it was on me! So I took the hit, double checked, and now just received another charge of £41.30 - I'm about to send ANOTHER email, probably same poor excuse / response, but genuinely have no idea what this charge is for or why. My advice, try another service, not this one
I've made a regular, free account 5 years ago. Haven't opened it ever since. Never had any monetary obligation to the company, yet a couple of months ago they charged me. As another reviewer said--didn't even know who they were, how they got my PayPal account, and why they were charging me for anything. It turned out they did that to so many people with inactive accounts with "prior notice" through email if you wanted to cancel your further relations.
Still in dispute through PayPal. Seriously planning to take this to the European Consumer Protection Commission.

I was a pro just for a month last November and yesterday I saw the they charged my card with €60. I sent an e-mail and their answer was thet they had sent me an e-mail that if I didn't click on the link I was agree to be charged for visibility fee. The thing is that all their e-mails are going to spams and I had never get this mail they are talking about! They offer me a month of pro but I don't want anything from these Robbers. I unsubscribed from their platform!
Star of service have terrible leads. If you are a small business, do not waste your money with this company. They will also change policy and start charging you annual fees even if you stop using them. They took an annual fee from me as I did not receive an email telling me they were now charging. I DID NOT REALISE THEY HAD ANY ACCESS TO MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT AS I HAD NOT USED THEM FOR 7 YEARS! When I contacted them to say I do not want to be on their site and want a refund, they flat out refuse.
They are rude, scammy and their leads are simply people wanting the cheapest deal they can get. No good for businesses that offer a quality service unless you want to work for nothing.
Small businesses should stay away from Star of Service. I would give them '0' stars if there was the option!
A very underhanded company, they changed their charges, didnt make me aware and I didnt agree to anything about this and their leads are an absolute waste of time avoid like the plague if you dont want to get ripped off
I used them a year ago, somehow managed to cancel after 30 questions of bizarre things like screenshotting their website and finding hidden passwords…. But I clicked onto their website and they removed £40.31 immediately, without warning. I emailed to ask them to refund it, no reply for -almost 3 weeks- when I got the banks involved!
They said I agreed (when I signed up a year ago) they could change their policy at any point and basically take what ever they like. They've STILL got my bank details and could take more at any point and no one can stop them!
Even if you deactivate your account, they will still go into your account and take out money. You need to go to your bank and block them from taking money out of your account.
No matter how often you set your location to 50 km for example, they will refer you to jobs that are 2 to 5 hours away that require a distance of 200 to 500 km of travelling
I'm writing this review because I noticed today they went in my account and took money out again.
The stop payment does not seem to always work so I may be forced to close this account and open another one.
It will definitely not see the value for your money.
They introduced a new service out of nowhere and within two days they charged me a fee. They do sent the email but email never stated the date, the email just stated upcoming days. Being unaware of their out of nothing service and which has no value, I feel that it is wrongfully charged. Since I have been charged for the while upcoming year I emailed them I am not using the service and will not use in the future so please refind the charges. They being cold and said we cannot. Garbage service
This is a scam and I thought I knew better than to fall for something like this. The leads are almost all ways outside our service area, and very poorly vetted. Just people surfing the web in the middle of the night i think and probably dooped into clicking some link, not actually serious about a service. Never led to a single job.After multiple attemps to cancell this BS service, THAT STARTED AS FREE, I have not been able to cancell it. Everyone launch a coplaint to VISA, or however they are billing you. Maybe enough complaints will take away thier means to take your $
No leads generated, terrible customer service, long-winded cancellation process. Overall a shocking experience and would never use again. Do not sign-up, all they do is send you emails every day about how to increase the amount of money you spend with them and they offer nothing in return. I wish I could rate this 0 stars as 1 is more than it deserves!
I was only interested in the trial round. And next thing i know, i try to remove my card so i dont get charged and then cancel my account, and to my surprise i couldn't do it on my own, I had to go through a whole process of reaching out via email, filling out 1 of 2 ridiculous "forms of verification" to confirm that Its my profile.
Do not use this service. BBB should be involved in the existence of this business.

We are vendor and after asking them 5 times in email to cancel our subscription they kept charging money for 3 months and never cancelled it. There is no option in the portal to cancel so we have to email and when you email there is no response. Do not sign up as vendor please.
Once you logged in you cannot delete your account. Whn you log in your credit card gets attached to the site you cannot remove the card. You will get struck
Nothing to say, it´s a scam.
Maybe if somehow we all can report these $#*!s who take advantage of people's desire to work freelance we can do something...

Un message pour avertir encore une fois les pros et les clients de ne pas utiliser StarOfService qui utilise des pratiques plus que malsaines, et ce jusquu'à la résiliation.
Des réponses des "clients" trop rares, on parle de fausses annonces.
Ce que j'ai expérimenté, c'est leur système crapuleux de désabonnement.
Un formulaire de 35 questions que l'on reçoit après demande par mail. Sérieusement? 35 questions tournées pour vous faire abandonner, vous tromper dans vos réponses, vous vendre des offres comme un marchand de tapis. (-50%, puis 3 mois offert, puis 1 mois, puis une formation,ETC...)
35 questions! La question 35 n'en est pas une, puisqu'on vous demande de vous aquitter de 15€ de frais de dossier qui auraient été offert à la souscription... Déjà, la souscription ne mentionne pas ces 15€... Puis, si c'est offerrt, c'est OFFERT...
Et quand vous avez payé (parce que 15$, oui des dollars... c'est toujours mieux que 130€), il vous faut encore envoyer un mail pour dire que vous avez bien payé...
Et ce genre d'entreprise existe encore...?
Je rajouterai que j'ai pris un essai à -50% et que j'ai été reconduis sans mail d'avertissement me donnant le choix de continuer ou non.
En plein lancement d'activité, ces 130€ m'ont fait très mal...
Voilà, faite ce que vous voulez/pouvez de ce mail. Mais j'envoie un mail à tous les sites et blog les répertoriant.

1 - They lure you in with a "free" something
2 - You subscribed to many things without ANY alert and before you know it 605 EUR for one product then monthly charges around 130 EUR...
3 - The cancellation process is a nightmare to go through and is designed for you either give up OR to charge you a 15 EUR cancelation fee every time you fill in the form "incorrectly"
Horrible company to deal with, deceitful.
I managed to get back my 605 EUR for the "free" product and threaten them with serious legal actions if they were not cancelling the other products. Response within 24 hours.
Do not click on anything and try to close your account if possible.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THERE PAID PROGRAM, ITS A SCAM THEY OFFERED ME A FREE WEEK WITH GAURENTEED REVENUE THE ONLY THING THEY SHOULD BE GAURENTEEING IS TO BE RIPPED OFF. I DIDNT GET ONE LEAD, THEY CARRIED ON TO CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD THE NEXT MONTH STILL NO LEADS, THEY THEN MAKE YOU GO THROUGH ABOUT 30 STEPS TO CANCEL YOU OFFER YOU MANY DISCOUNTS TO STAY AND THEN CHARGE YOU AN EXTRA 15 DOLLARS JUST TO CANCEL I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO DOESNT WANT TO PAY FOR LITERALLY NOTHING!
They break the law by not having an unsubscribe option, and are relentless in sending their worthless emails.
Just for kicks, I spam them right back :)
And don't bite the "free staff" they are selling you via email, you are going to regret it as I do now. Once they take your credit card or PayPal access they pick up money without your permission. Plus, the free staff you agree to buy is useless unless you buy a more expensive program. They charged me about 720e for getting 10 days of free staff and the service does work either. They don't refund me nor cancel their charge. Instead they asked me for more money (400e) to turn the unwanted service that they charged me 720e to a useful one. In these few days of the "free staff" i contacted some clients but now i think that they might be fake ones, pretending to be interested in my business. Stay away, it s a business that steals money from free lancers. Also the dosens of bad reviews should make the Protection of Consumer in EU wonder how this company still exists
I have never gotten one useful lead from Star Of Service.
I don't remember ever subscribing to a monthly plan, and the more I look at their tactics, the more I'm convinced it's a fraud.
I asked them to cancel, and they sent me to a web site with 30 steps and questions claiming (Bull$#*!) it is to confirm my identity. Then the want my credit card number to charge me $15 to cancel. No Goddamn way I'm giving them my number.!
Answer: It's a scam. I used this service as a professional, not as a client. In just a week I was charged 150$for clients who supposedly had clicked on my telephone number. I asked customer service about this practice and replied with "If you receive a message from the customer, If the customer consults your phone number to contact you, If you consult the customer's phone number, If you use the platform manually, when the customer has not contacted any professional, we send his number to the professional who sent his quote first. These coordinates are invoiced." Basically, StarOfService will charge the professionals at their will. Beware of this scam!
