I bought AirPods and protection plan at Walmart. The AirPods broke. Apple replaced, gave me the documents to claim. Squaretrade approved the claim, but use delay tactics and won't pay out. I keep calling, texting, emailing, they assure me I'll get payment within 1-3 days, but it's always "in process". I have not received my claim, it's been close to a month.

But they bill me each month. I have been on phone calls and chat, email. With no resolution. They tell me they can't find me in there system. But I'm getting billed. In Dec it will be a year they need to pay me back for unauthorized payment they take each month. I shouldn't have to close my bank account to get it to stop.

Extremely poor service and I don't believe they have a clue what they are doing. I cannot even understand them on the phone. I had lines on my TV and they said it was from damage. No way not even a smudge on the TV. They never even mentioned the t-con board or anything. This company is just one big rip off. Reported to your insurance department in the state you are residing in.

Replace Apple parts with cheap knock offs

Do NOT purchase SquareTrade or Allstate protection plans for Apple products. They are now offered at Costco in place of Apple Care. They do not repair the devices and replace parts with cheap knock offs which devalue the decide for trade in value. They are NOT available 24/7 and it is a painful process to file a claim. And then you get bad results.

Worst company ever!

I would have given a minus score if possible. I had been working with them to honor my warranty for 3+months, easily 20 correspondence via email and phone. Plan to be on the phone 30 minutes each time before even speaking to someone! They continued to ask for the same pictures, receipts and warranty numbers even after they email me it was received. They dont want to pay and I believe they think they can where you down. They have decided they won't honor my warranty (11/07)because it was outside the 90 purchase they require. I started this process in August and now, 11/22/22 they are delaying the return of an invalid warranty. Remodeling my house from mold was easier than this! HORRIBLE COMPANY!

I received a protection plan for a device from Amazon, to Allstate to uses Square Trade. I returned the device and followed the rules of the plan and Square Trade's website. The plan came to me thru an email. I tried to cancel the plan the next day and I was returning the device. They wanted me to send the plan back via UPS and would charge me $14.06 out of the $18.99 I paid for shipping. I refused to return the plan by UPS. A few pieces of useless paper. They refused to give me the refund. I finally convinced Amazon with proof of the instructions and their actions. They even refused Amazon. I do have a credit for the plan, but will report to anyone I can about their actions. I'm sorry I can't include images because they are not in the computer.

Worse phone coverage ever

I was sold this plan at Sam's club as phone insurance coverage and told it would fully cover my phone. It doesn't cover loss or theft. While my phone is not lost it doesn't give me piece of mind that if I do lose it I am out of luck.
The reps are not helpful and it is horrible that I cannot even schedule a repair without upfront payment. My screen is cracked and while in the past Asurion was a pain to deal with it was a 30 dollar deductible. This warranty is 129 and I cannot even get proper service. They deduct money from my account every month but cannot setup a future payment for Friday.

You're definitely better off not even buying it. These people have giving me the run around for days about repairing a phone. I drove 45 minutes to the repair shop they made me go to only for the repair shop to have never even heard of square trade and the repair shop actually damaged the phone further. Went in for a cracked screen now phone won't even turn on

Absolutely horrible company. I had a legitimate complaint about a line going across my TV that was 100% covered by warranty. They had me send pictures if the screen with a yellow and red background. I happened to notice a slight image on the screen I had never noticed before. I didn't complain about the image. Just the line going across my TV. My response from them totally ignored the line on the screen and said the slight "image" on the TV was burn in and that voided the warranty. I don't even see the image at all when I watch it normally. But they grabbed on to the one excuse they could use to void my warranty and not repair the line on the screen. Totally useless company that likes your money, but doesn't like repairing or replacing anything. Find another insurance company, SquareTrade is a scam.

Bad business

I purchased a protection plan from home online.At the end of the purchase they said I would receive an email shortly. Checked my email a day or so later still no email. My purchase was made on the 11/02/22.I also checked my account the funds was taken 11/04/22 but no service was given. Called customer service and did everything they asked me to do and send. Still no service or refund

My television broke. I had an expensive warranty I called. They said they would send a technician out. I took the day off work. Technician never showed called again and now they want me to wait another two days. Unbelievable this is totally taking advantage of the consumer.

Wasted so much time - SQT has deducted my $1 ID verification six times (!) and still did not process my trade-in credit. Not an issue with my credit card or bank, their support email address is defunct and so is their actual mobile phone contact. JB HIFI can't help either. Why are JB hooked up with such a known shonky outfit.

They deny their own written terms & conditions!
I bought their plan through AHS, the terms and conditions of my protection plan states clearly that it covers smartphones. However they systematically denied my claim for a smartphone repair. Also, their agents are so confusing! You do not get what you pay for, I feel like I am being ripped off.

Simply put... a scam.

I did eventually get a replacement, but it was completely through Amazon. They clearly knew that SquareTrade wasn't going to uphold their end. When I called SquareTrade, the first thing they did was transfer me to multiple people, all with long holds, all with excuses why they weren't the right department. I just went to Amazon to complain and they handled it in 15 minutes.

Terrible Customer Service

This company is ridiculous. I had a policy with them for 15 months. I needed a cracked I-phone screen repaired and went through their process. I was APPROVED and paid a $74.25 deductible and was to be sent an approval e-mail to take to a repair store to get the repair done. Because my e-mail on file was entered incorrectly by them as brain@... instead of Brian@... I never got the email. I was told I had to update my account and prove I had coverage. 5 days later still no resolution after multiple calls and e-mails and their supervisors supposedly escalating the issue. One agent even "found" my policy that I was supposed to prove I had per their policy. Now I am having to dispute the charge to my credit card since I never received what I paid for and multiple supervisors couldn't seem to make a common sense decision to simply send what was needed to the correct e-mail. Extremely disappointed and canceling my policy.

Should be a half star

The only reason I gave them a 1 star rating is because there was not a half star. I tried to file a claim but had issues with the site got on chat and the rep stopped typing to me for over 15 minutes and I dropped the chat.

Purchased an extended warranty for a GE refrigerator. First challenge was deciding if it was a GE warranty or SquareTrade claim. SquareTrade eventually approved the work by a GE factory tech, but now won't pay. They keep rejecting my receipts, either saying they look altered or don't contain sufficient information, hoping I'll give up.

I can't remember why I purchased the Walmart warranty instead of AppleCare but I did and man do I ever regret it. There's an issue with the charging port not working on the iPad. I created a claim with SquareTrade. Initially, they wanted me to mail the iPad back to them which would have required me to obtain shipping material and the item would have been gone for some indeterminate amount of time and no guarantee that they would even reproduce the problem as it is intermittent. I complained and they gave me permission to go to a local repair store. I took it into Apple and they reproduced the problem and indicated that the iPad was not repairable and would need to be replaced at a cost of $420 + tax. They gave me a work order identifying this. I uploaded this to the SquareTrade site and then didn't hear anything back for two days. I called and spent about 30 mins on the phone with them. They couldn't find the work order so they asked me to add the work order again and then call them back so they can pre-approve the work order. They wouldn't allow me to do this while I was on the phone. I hung up, got the email but there is no way to upload the work order as a receipt has already been provided. So I called back. They had no context even though I entered the claim number and name. I think all will be fine in the end but man - AppleCare is so much easier than this and it's the same price.
