The company has garnered mixed reviews, with several customers praising the quality of products and competitive pricing, which has led to repeat purchases for some. However, a significant number of reviews highlight major concerns regarding customer service, including difficulties with order cancellations, returns, and unresponsive support. Many customers reported issues with receiving incorrect items or delays in shipping, leading to dissatisfaction with the overall purchasing experience. This combination of positive product experiences and negative service interactions suggests a need for the company to enhance its customer support and fulfillment processes to improve overall reputation.

These guys will show the best prices on the net for ammo but then after you put in all your info to purchase they say it's back ordered. Then you'll get spammed everyday with BS ads! They make it so difficult to be removed off the list too. Looking at the other reviews I feel lucky this is all I've had to go through.
Tried to order a fishing pole combo. Didn't hear anything from the company for 5 DAYS after I placed my order(and sending emails that were unreturned) and then they told me it was back ordered. So I proptly cancelled. The communication between the customer service dept and the shipping is straight up horse$#*!, and the customer ends up getting $#*! on the most. Horrible company, horrible service, absolutely stay away from this deceptive business.
I gave them 1 star because there wasn't a -0
After scouring the Internet for the ultimate military surplus bug out back pack and reading all the reviews I believed I found the right one at Sportsman. Unfortunately, what I didn't think of doing was reading costumer reviews of Sportsman itself before the purchase. I normally do this before most large purchases, but not from a "reputable" outdoors retailer.
The back pack arrived with the front belt buckle completely worn out and one of the back strap buckles broken in half. The military tape still secured all the straps so it looks like they went to a military wholesaler and bought a bulk of these and never checked them out. Sportsman just dumped them on line with a snappy sales line.
I immediately called Sportsman's customer service as they do boast on the front of their web page "LIFETIME SATISFACTION GUARANTEED. THE BEST GUARANTEE IN THE BUSINESS". Very bold statement so I believed it. After speaking to customer service I found out that the item is sold out and they can only replace it with a similar item. The only similar item is 3 X the cost and doesn't have an availability date till 5/23. I explained I don't want to replace it I only need the parts for the broken buckles. I like the backpack. I offered to take pics and send them, but she insisted she didn't need them. I told her they advertised a military surplus backpack and that's what I expected. They didn't advertise a damaged bag and that's what I got. They needed to make it right. I hung up after hearing the same broken record routine about replacement or money back several times. (Side note: I'm glad I didn't fall for the refund scam. A lot of the negative reviews I found people were complaining they didn't get their refunds back for months, if at all).
As of this writing I've never heard back from Sportsman and had to hit up EBay to find the spare parts(I got lucky). So the $53 backpack including shipping and the extra EBay expense plus shipping has cost me $91 and I can't use it till I get the spare parts and fix it.
After speaking to customer service I went on line to all the review blogs about Sportsman including the BBB and found they have so many complaints about false advertising and people not getting their stuff at all (including guns!) that I would have never bought anything from them. I also looked on GlassDoor and found that they treat their employees as bad as their customers.
Places like Sportsman give online businesses a bad rap and really put off hard working people who have a little extra cash to spend for hobbies. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND BUYING ANYTHING FROM THIS SPORTS RETAILER.
BEWARE OF THIS SCAM OUTDOOR STORE.
We ordered boat seats from them. Seats came in wrong color, company admitted it was there fault. Company lied to us and have made no help to correct the order. The order was 2 grand. What a mistake I wish we would have seen the terrible reviews would never ordered from company.
SG overcharged me by $74.92, and when contacted refused to acknowledge or refund the overcharge. I'm forced to report them for card fraud and have also reported them to the BBB. Steer clear of these scammers!
Garbage I ordered a pair of boots two weeks ago said will be. Ship in 7days still have not received them yet site $#*!ing blows never ordering from this place again better off saving your $#*! legit
I ordered a. 357 mag from them and tracked the shipping of it to my ffl. The day after the gun was delivered I called my ffl as I thought he would have already called me to tell me that my gun was in. He stated that he did receive a gun from them but it was not addressed to me nor was it the gun I ordered. I immediately called them to inquire about my order. They admitted that they had indeed shipped the incorrect gun, but would not ship my gun or refund my money until they received their gun back. A week later after many phone calls and emails inquiring on the status of the order they had yet to even contact my ffl to arrange shipment of the incorrect gun back to them. I was told by Sportsman's Guide that I would receive a refund for my gun within 7 business day of them receiving the incorrect gun back as the gun that I ordered was now out of stock, but they have yet to have the incorrect gun picked up. I have been a discount club member for three years, but as of today they have forever lost my business. I will pay twice the price for the same item with a company that I trust before I will ever give them another dime.
I purchased one of these. When they went to charge me shipping would have been about 50% of the cost of the coin collection. Upon inspecting the coins I found the hardest one to find the 1918 VDB was not one at all. It was a plane 1918. They couldn't have even said it was a worn out date. As using a very powerful jewlers glass I could tell that. The company that sells these to Sportsmans Guide is ripping them off. To there credit after a great deal of fuss they did drop the shipping. Now I'm suppose to spend $5.00 to ship it back. Maybe some people are stupid but this product is a total rip off no matter how you buy it or return it. Stay away from purchasing any kind of coins from them.
Stay away from this company! Read there reviews they suck. From their customer service to their information sharing polices. Further they say they will give you a discount if you pay for their membership then the tack on hefty "shipping and handling" fees. Really? How much shipping and handling is there in drop shipping my my order! Last but not least within days of ordering you inbox will blow up with tons of junk mail that the "shared" with some third party based on your purchasing history. Bullcrap, ever since I order something from them I have recieved emails for drugs, supplements, flashlights... the list goes on; give me a break I ordered some long johns and a tree stand winch! Please do get them mixed up with a reputable company like sportsman guide.com, their address is only one letter different.
We purchased a rifle from The Sportsmans Guide on 12/8/15. We were told by more than (1) TSG employee that the item would arrive by the time we needed it to, (12/18/15). As we continued to follow up it became clear that wasn't going to happen. In fact, not one TSG employee we've communicated with through today, (12/20) can tell us exactly what the status of the rifle is – the website still says "In process". We then asked to cancel the order on, either the 10th, or 11th of December. We continued to follow-up inquiring about the cancellation and refund status. At one point a TSG employee stated that the order was in process of cancelling and that we should expect a refund within a few business days. We called back and have since been told, they are not sure the order can be cancelled because the order might have shipped – again, no one from TSG, or their supplier, (Armalite) can confirm, or deny this. Today I was told our only option was to refuse delivery and we would be charged a 15% restocking fee, (That's $300!). I've repeatedly asked for a Supervisor, or Manager and have been denied the opportunity to speak to one.
Dates of contact via phone: 12/8,12/9,12/10 & 12/11. Dates of contact via email: 12/13,12/19 & 12/20.
Ordered a pair of boots. Later learned shipping was longer than expected. So, like a dummy, I ordered and paid for a second pair with 2 day shipping. Got the second pair, but they were too small and returned them. FedEx lists they got them, customer service says they don't. Wanted a new pair in the correct size shipped using the 2 day shipping I paid for. I was told it takes 7-10 business days to "process" the return WHEN they receive them before they ship the right size, which will then be standard shipping. Tried to explain I paid for 2 day shipping. After 20 minutes, I tried canceling the order and have my money returned. Can't do that either. I have to wait until the correct size is delivered and return them. Then another 7-10 days to get my refund. I won't buy here again!
Ordered from the UK after checking with the store about International purchase 13 days later and my goods have not even left the US dreadful comms worst site I have ever bought from.
International customers for your own sanity shop eleswhere.:-(

Some great bargains, hidden among a lot of garbage! If you know a lot about the products you are shopping, and are very careful to read the description AND the reviews, you can find some real bargains at Sportsmans Guide. The first thing to know is to NEVER buy anything that doesn't have a goodly number of customer reviews. SG is generally honest about letting customers post reviews, which is why you will often find items in their catalog with dozens of 1-star reviews (unlike some stores that post only the good reviews). ALWAYS READ the reviews and start with the lowest ratings first, some will be from customers who didn't read the listing or who didn't know what they were ordering, but most will have good information about exactly what might be wrong with an item. This is especially true for military surplus items that make up nearly half the SG catalog. Many such items are "new" in that they have never been issued, but have been sitting on a shelf in some East European military warehouse for decades. Leather left on the shelf for 30 years drys out or gets moldy for example. WHEN (not IF) you get an item that doesn't match the description, call SG Customer Service on the phone. They will take the item back (even most "non-returnable" items) and will send you a free shipping label. NEVER order anything on backorder even if they show a date when it is supposed to be available. To be blunt, they LIE about the "expected availability date" - this is not just poor communication with their suppliers, they will repeatedly claim a backordered item is expected to arrive in 1-2 weeks so they can dodge the FTC rules about items not expected within 21 days. Then when the "expected" date comes, they will just say the item is due in another week or two. Another recurring issue with SG is their packing department. Do you remember those old Samsonite luggage commercials with the gorilla tossing the suitcase around? Well, SG much have hired that gorilla and all his relatives. So far as I can tell, when they pack your order they must put a big box in the middle of the warehouse then throw all your items into the box from at least 10 feet away, then drop some paper or bubble wrap on top, close the box and ship it. The outer box is always much bigger than needed and rarely has enough padding. But, again, if an item arrives broken, they will take it back if you call them.
I work for Cabelas, their prices are higher than most large outdoor stores, but on most items they are mostly better than Sportsman Guide. Under Armor hoodie 75.00 really
Always something I'm interested in. Fast shipping and easy transaction.
Awful customer service! I do mean AWFUL! I bought an EEA B6P pistol from them for a really low price. I picked the pistol up from my FFL dealer and on the way home I noticed I couldn't get the magazine to drop out of the well. I literally had to hold the magazine release button down while yanking on the bottom of the magazine, and it scrubs like crazy coming out and going back in. It is OBVIOUSLY a defective pistol. I call SG and they say, oh since you've already signed for it there's nothing we can do. Nice. So I call EAA and they promise a call-back by the end of the day. Did I get a call-back? Of course not. I was sold a defective product and SG feels they have no obligation to make it right. I bought this pistol for concealed carry but there's no way I would carry it considering that it takes time and effort to pull the magazine out and insert another. I'm sure I can just call time-out and the bad guy will patiently wait while I struggle with changing mags.
In short, Sportsman's Guide SUCKS.
I ordered a deer stand from this company via Amazon, and received it in a decent time. Upon opening the container, I quickly became aware that none of the hardware (nuts, bolts, washers, screws, ratchet straps, etc.) and the safety harness were left out of the shipment. I quickly contacted the company to try to fix this situation. I was told that the missing items will be shipped in 4-7 days. Since then, I have contacted the company 4 more times in the past 2 and a half weeks and have been told the exact same thing, the missing items will be sent in 4-7 days. Today I am returning the stand, and taking my business elsewhere. The company advertises on it's site that they promise the highest level in customer satisfaction, but my experience with them has been anything but satisfying. I will NEVER order from this company again.
Got my husband a hut and stand as a gift, had several friends here to help him (70)bring it down my field right before our hunting season. Set it up, one panel was broke, hunting season was lots of snow called the company they said to send it back. With so much snow no one to help we were told to get it down at the end of winter. But over the winter the roof caved in from the snow was this made for snowy weather? Upstate New York. They want us to send stand & hut back. Why? My husband said he would keep the stand just or return the money for the hut or give us a gift card, No they don't want to hear it they want the whole thing back never buy from them again they could have made life easy by just taken back the piece of crap hut we are a hunting family of seven so its their loss. I'll tell every one I know about this. BR
I have been ordering from Sportsmans Guide for several years now. I the primary reason was their low pricing for good products. The only complaints I've had to date would slow shipping and poor communications.
But they went from minor annoyance to "never see another $ from me".
After spending a half hour on the phone with sales and sleeping on my decision I purchased a Bond Arms Snake Slayer pistol on line from SG. Never once during the conversation with sales was I told that it could not be purchased for use in California, even though the salesperson knew that's where I lived.
When filling out all of the purchase info fora firearm I had to select an authorized vendor in the area to have it shipped to. Again, no red flags were raised. SG shipped, the vendor returnedwithout any communications with me. I first contacted SG to ask about my purchase only to find out it had delivered 5 days earlier. They suggested I contact the vendor which I'd and found out about the return along with a quote " we have to return about 90 percent of the firearms from SG for the same reason".
Time for a chat with customer service. "It's not our problem. You should be aware of laws in your state and if you read the website information, that is successfully buried several clicks deep, you would know. Oh, there's also a 15 percent restock charge".
To summarize, SG sold me nothing and pocketed $60+ for my trouble.
I ordered online 500 rounds of. 308 ammo (for $210.89) over the 4th of July holiday sale, I received an invoice via e-mail (completing the transaction) and they charged my credit card. Monday afternoon I get a call saying they cancelled my order because their was a pricing error on their (Website). There only reply was it is their right to cancel the order for a pricing error! I been buying from SG for many years and I feel completely let down. Additional I felt their customer service was very unprofessional, and I am still waiting a credit refund to post on my credit card.
Answer: NONE OF THEM -- that's why the stock numbers are each listed with what pistol they do fit -- none are listed for the weird Ruger P95 because they are not made to fit that pistol.
