Just got my second set of retainers from Sporting Smiles and they fit great. I was a little skeptical at first about ordering retainers online. My dentist wanted $500 and I seemed way too much for a little piece of plastic. I saw sporting smiles had a bunch of good reviews and a guarantee so I figured I would give them a try. I took upper and lower impressions and the lower was good, but I messed up on the upper the first time. I called and they told me what I did wrong. There were spare supplies included and I was able to get a good upper the second time.
I sent everything back and it did take about 2 weeks to get the retainers back. The retainers were nice and clear and fit perfectly. I was amazed at how easy it was and how I saved about 400$ ordering online. I wore the retainer for about a month with no issues and got an email that I could order a second without having to take the impression again. I decided it was a good idea to have a backup and not have to mess with taking an impression again. The material seems to very exactly the same as what my dentist was using. Ordering online is a great way to same move and not have to make 2 trips to the dentist to get retainers.
I love my sportingsmiles teeth teeth guard. Sits perfect and was easy to get. I have reordered just to get a backup. Had to take impression twice, but wasn't that hard. Would recommend them.
Had my old retainer since 2016 when I took the braces off and decided to make a new one with sporting smiles, I received the kit, did all the steps on the instructions and then sent my photos for approval, and then sent the molding back, they sent me my new retainer after days and it's perfect! Super easy and convenient to do it at home, I've been using it every night for a year and it looks as new as when I got it. Very satisfied! Will order a backup for sure.
Excellent Product - Great Price - Great Customer Service. I've now ordered a few times from this site, and their retainers are fantastic. They arrive and the fit is perfect. The retainers last and are easy to clean. But also, when I have a problem, it is easy to get in contact with someone who can answer your question quickly. And you can't beat the price. I think my orthodontist wanted 4x as much for a pair of retainers.
They take a long time to process your moulds to make them into retainers. My impressions were rejected 3 times, then I called them because I was biting into the moulds via the instructions properly and had them approved. Probably a money steal for them. My upper retainer broke and it hasn't even been a full year, cheap material.
I ordered the retainer kit from SportingSmiles in June this year. They were keep asking me to redo my impressions because they weren't useful. Once they approved my impressions they sent me the retainer but it was poorly made. Covered only half of the teeth and it wasn't stable on my teeth. I emailed them and they said that they cannot make it better that that. Wow! So I returned the retainer and I received less money than I paid for initially! It also took them couple of months for the refund!
Do not assume you will get a retainer from this company! Repeatedly rejected by production team due to cracking of their putty, canned email excuses why the picture of the mold didn't meet their expectations and then they offer to sell you more materials. Not worth the frustration!
My top retainer (from dentist) lasted over a decade but then broke, so I got sporting smiles since it was so less costly. I didn't realize the lack of durability. Only 3 years later it broke - I have no idea when or hell (meanwhile, my bottom retainer is still perfectly fine) and sporting smiles takes a week to get back to me to tell me they can't do anything:
Hi,
We are unable to assist you as we would no longer have your impressions on file, as we only keep them on file for one year. Our warranty period is 30-days from the final ship date.
Lame AF! I won't be using them again!
Used them for many years until this past month they denied 4 of my impressions without notifying me, poor customer service, no good explanation of why was denied. A complete waste of 2 months, because they do not communicate neither care you are waiting for your night guard. Find someone else!
Sporting Smiles has an outstanding customer service team. I have been very satisfied working them. My first sets of upper and lower dental impressions were low quality, so they sent me replacement sets free of charge. When I got good impressions, the lower set got lost in the mail. They were more than happy help me out and facilitate a fair arrangement. Their customer service team is on it!
I've been a sporting smiles customer for years and this year will likely be my last.
Instead of the usual kit being delivered, and the retainer fitting perfectly a week later, I had a completely ill-fitting upper retainer delivered in a cheap 3d print. I asked them to please resend the impression kit and they said no, they will fix it in the lab, they just need pictures.
When I called customer service they wouldn't listen and said "email us". So I did, and here we are three months later and three retainers that still don't fit me. Instead of letting me take a new impression and solve this quickly, they insist on photos and tweaking an impression that clearly doesn't work.
I have now asked them for a refund and they want ALL the retainers back and they want to charge me a processing fee for their poor job. I didn't keep all the old, not-fitting retainers that have been inside my mouth, nor will I pay them for a refund. Really crappy that they've gone downhill.
My order is over a month old. They told me they had my impressions and proceeded to make just the lower portion of the mouth guard. I was told "great, we have your impressions". They are making half a mouth guard and charging me full price $65. I also ordered two upper essix retainers. I got an impression kit instead because they said they no longer have my impression. They evaded all my question over the last week. I get a response supposedly to pacify me, but no real answers. I asked for an update (they can't get in the lab but once a day. What? No email, texting, or calling to the lab?), an explanation of why I was told they only have the lower impression (they said because they have my name in the database under two spellings), I asked for an extension on making the new impression because of an injured tooth (no response), then I asked for a total refund (no response). They are horrible. I'm getting non-answers. I never had this problem before and I'm a long-time customer. I can only guess they sold to new owners. DO NOT use this company any more.
The online ordering for retainers was convenient when I was in a new location and needed a new pair. The "plus" retainers are supposed to be thicker, but they crack easily and I have been reordering new sets before a full year passes. The discount for reorders isn't substantial. Their customer service has given me differing and misleading information. I would not have ordered international shipping if I was told in the beginning that it would take 10 weeks instead of 10 days as it states online or 3 weeks as they previously emailed me. Other customers on Better Business Bureau have also had delivery issues with orders. I asked multiple times for them to pay outstanding taxes and submit required documentation for customs, and they wouldn't directly answer whether they have done so, so it is likely that they didn't and there are issues with international customs.
Custom is leaving out that the "new location" is Poland.
Custom placed a reorder. So they were happy with their original order or wanted another set. The order had standard international shipping on the order. We made the retainer and shipped it in the correct amount of time. Let anyone that has ordered internationally knows it can take a while and the packages need to clear customs. We do know how long it will take for customs to clear the packages.
We do sometimes have delivery issues. With thousands of packages being shipped 3 ways, there will be some issues. This wasn't even a shipping issue. The customer is in Poland and thought they were going to get a custom-made retainer in 10 days for the USA. I understand everyone wants there product, right away, but shipping internationally does take some time.
I was happy with product and even processed a REORDER with them just last year. I had a major fall this week and messed up my teeth and am in need of a new retainer to reset my teeth. When I called today I learned they destroy all records after just one year. Considering I paid full price to go through the initial impressions THEN even ordered another new set of retainers last year, it seems idiotic to destroy my records after a mere year. The excuse I was given was "we receive thousands of impressions and can't keep all of them…". Ha, good thing Amazon doesn't have that mindset or they'd be extinct. How about an upgrade on your cloud storage?! Terrible business model to destroy records of someone who has already done one reorder and very likely to probably do another—-unless of course you just want your customers to have to go through the full price of redoing their impressions all over again. In my case, my teeth are now wrecked, so that is not an option and my dentist was very excited to know I had these impressions on record with you because they could be hugely beneficial in getting my teeth back to normal. I'm so disappointed in this lack of procedural management within your organization. Oh I'm sure somewhere in the fine print you claim they are only held for one year and will hang your hat on this, but it still doesn't make any sense from a business perspective whatsoever
This review isn't a fair review of our company. We do not hide that we keep impressions for only 1 year. The products were made perfect and the customer even reordered. We keep the impressions on file for 1 year. It's all over our site. When a year is up we sent 4 emails throughout the month letting our customers know that a year is coming. We do have the option when you place a reorder to 3d scan it in so the model would be digitally stored. Dentists do not keep impressions on file. We are one of the companies that do keep impressions on file for 1 year.
I understand why the customer is mad, but they should be mad at themselves, not SportingSmiles. The customer lost their retainer, didn't buy another one within the time frame. Had an accident that they messed up their teeth, and are now looking for a retainer to help fix their problem. We tell all customers that they should always have a backup retainer.
I feel we provided great service and a great product and this is an unfair review.
Hi, I have been waiting for a good custom fit item for 2 months. They refused to make a 3rds bottom retainer. Talked to them and the whole 100% satisfaction is a sham. Really don't like how they are giving me a partial refund in the end. The said I can keep the top and I still get a 20 dollar refund after. I asked them if I could get a full refund and they said that I won't get anything because I used the whitening kit.
We have been selling retainers online since 2009 and make thousands of retainers every month. There is some truth and some lies in this review.
We have taken over 29+ phone calls (8 in 2 hours) from Gautham and 17 emails. Our product requires a good impression. We have sent impression supplies 4 times (2x putty and trays each time) to get a good lower impression. We never got a great lower impression. He is correct we didn't want to do a 3rd warranty on the lower and recommended going to a dentist to get the retainer made because of the difficultly of getting an impression. We recommended first switching the order to a single and giving a refund for the difference. (the upper was fitting fine) He didn't want to do that so we recommended a full refund. We sent a return label to cover all return shipping.
Offering a full refund and paying for the return shipping. There would normally make any customer happy. We tried our best to make this product work, but our process isn't for everyone.
Thank You,
SportingSmiles
I was cautious at first, but read all the wonderful reviews and decided to try them for myself and very glad that I did. My dentist wanted $600 for a single night guard and I was able to get a top and bottom and a whitening kit for $160. Customer service was very helpful and friendly. I had to redo the bottom impression which was a little too narrow and they told me just what to do to fix it. I sent them off and a couple of weeks later they came in the mail. They all fit really well and can't wait to try the teeth whitener! Very happy with everything!
So glad i stumbled across Sporting Smiles they were able to send over retainers quick and easy worth it!
I purchased a upper EssixPLUS retainer earlier this year in January because I completely ruined my old retainer from my orthodontist (I like to chew on mine). Anyways long story short. I needed a new retainer and fast but I didn't want to spend $300. I got to searching on Google and found this wonderful company. Got to order a premium quality retainer that was wayyy better than my previous retainer and I spent less. I'm completely satisfied. Currently ordering my second set because I need a backup from my chewing problem but they still look great and UNdetectable!
I purchased the top and lower retainer because I lost my retainer and this was totally a life saver, within three days, you're already taking the impressions where they give you plenty of instructions. I highly recommend the faster shipping. So much better than paying $700 at the orthodontist for a replacement! They answer their emails and are super helpful.
Process was easy. Retainers fit perfectly. Very pleased. Price was very reasonable. I would recommend this company.
Answer: No, our products will not straighten your teeth. We sell retainers that will prevent your teeth from moving any further. Thank you, SportingSmiles
Answer: No, it shouldn't be an issue. We have many customers that use our impression process with veneers. Just to be 100% sure one trick is to use coconut oil, put a little on the veneers and it will prevent any sticking.
Answer: The price and their amazing customer service. They are a much safer choice then other places.
Answer: Yes. I emailed them at 8 at night and they responded early the next morning. Email is the best way, I never had to call. They were always super quick.
Answer: Totally legit. I'm 17 and managed to get through the whole process without problem by myself.

LASTED 3+ YEARS! 3 Years is a great amount of time to have a retainer. The life span of a clear retainer is about 1 year. If you google life span of clear retainer you will see that. That last molar can always just be trimmed off the retainer can still be used for a while. Not sure what you expected us to do on an order over 3+ year retainer order. This should be a good review on getting a great fitting retainer that lasted 3 years for less than 100$.
