I bought a 95 cent email search and they automatically began charging me $24.85 per month for a full subscription. These guys are dishonest and a huge rip off. Do not use them!
They claimed to have a full report for me to read to a signed up for a trial period. Then the report was blank. I canceled my trial and had a confirmation of cancelation, but was then charged for a membership. This is unacceptable and not a way to get customers wanting to use your business. Your company is trash. You're liars and thieves. Claiming you have information to get people to give you money then reporting nothing. Then STEALING their money when they don't want your services anymore.

Don't waste your money. You don't get any valuable information on reverse cell look-up, but they promise you names and addresses- you get nothing. Then the Billing occurs, and you can't really cancel the transaction- all smoke & mirrors.

I signed up for 7 day trail at certain price. I then on the same day sent email to Spokeo to cancel subscription services. Next I find a charge of $24.95 billed to my PayPal account. I call, explain myself and the end outcome is "we can't give a full refund since it has already been billed, but we will send you 9.98 and you can use the service for the remainder of the month subscription. This is modern day theft, and I will never use Spokeo again. Been Verified is your competitor and will have my business in the future.

A lot of the information is outdated or incomplete. And, my own personal information is so messed up (it looks like mine and an unknown person's records are combined into the same record) that it gives me very little confidence in the accuracy of other records).

I simply wanted to find a long-lost cousin and they not only couldn't do it they kept promising me new information.? Turns out my cousin has been deceased for 7 years I found out later. Then when I tried to cancel my account they tried to give me the runaround by making me put the bank on a 3-way call which was never explained to me and then the man kept telling me he had to check with him supervisor and find me when I ask for the supervisor he kept putting me off. I am sure there was no supervisor it's all a con job to try to get more money out of me and if I can accomplish this they will never get another Penny out of me.

I did not know I signed up for a subscription but read the email and accepted that I had. I immediately terminated to avoid future charges, however I am somehow still being charged for a subscription. I logged in just to see if I had made an error and ever spokeo shows my subscription as "expired" and not active. Yet they still continue to charge my account monthly.

Quite disgusted with your service first of all. When you say something is refundable in the purchase, it better be refundable. Instead I had to start pulling the contract and getting my lawyers involved.
You guys need to get with it cause someone will rip you down.
You have far less info than I've seen with anyone else so far. You nickel and dime the consumer to death. Every search is an add on and then when you say you'll refund someone you try to skimp out on the full refund. Gross

I have a hearing impairment and as result, I hesitate to call a business or people even, knowing that it frustrates them to talk with me as, I am constantly asking them to repeat themselves. I had a technical question to ask Spokeo, so I contacted their Customer Service Representative advising her that before she entered into conversation with her, I was a disabled vet with a hearing disability and I would probability be asking her to frequently repeat herself; she assured me that would not be problem and she began to patiently answer my questions. It is rare that I have such pleasant telephone conversations. If this lady is an example of Spokeo's corporate attitude toward it's customer's, then want to do business with them. So please encourage all of your employees to follow the example of this lady who so patiently dealt with me. I DON'T MENTION HER NAME, AS I DON'T KNOW IF THAT WOULD BE APPROPIATE. I do know that you record conversation and you have the means of obtaining her name.

Like so many other services, they continue to charge you $24.95 every month and hope you don't review your credit card statement closely. I initiated my service purchase on March 6,2021 and was chaged. 95 cents. On March 9,2021 the charged me $24.95. April 14,2021. I just looked at my May credit card statement and saw the April charge, called their 800 number and canceled my "subscription". Unfortunately, this type of scam is most likely legal. One way this scam could be stopped is by credit card companies offering to place a time limit on recurring charges. I wonder if there's an app that reviews credit card accounts for recurring charges and send alerts to credit card holders? BUYER BEWARE!

Answer: Watch for the $20 charge at the end of the month. They say a person is out, then the charge comes a month later. Had to cancel my card and get new # to keep them out of my wallet.
Answer: Three alternatives: 1) Logon with you old Spokeo account and contact customer support. 2) If you can't remember your old logon, 2.1) try a google search to find Spokeo customer service link or telephone number. 2.2) Spokeo has notes on some reviews. Maybe they have included their support number or link? 3) Call Visa and ask them to kill the Spokeo charges to your Visa account.
Answer: Not that I know of but they're slick the moment you put your card info in it saves and if you use something that takes payment they'll charge the card without asking.

Answer: I cancelled Spokeo service due to selling me misinformation or inaccurate information. I got this in writing from David at Spokeo. They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.
