This company is a joke. They couldn't even find an Instagram account even after I gave them the full name and user name. I could easily google either of the two and find this persons Instagram account for free.

This Co. Is very reputable as The service didn't meet what I needed. However there was no problem with canceling the service and that was made me feel good. The Rep I talked with was pleasant and handled my case quickly with no problem. Once again, I felt really good with the operation.

I used my girlfriends number to test this sites credibility. My girl has had this number for over a year and was present witb her at phone store when we got both of our phones together. Results was. Nothing in all the report was accurate. Dont know if tbey are putting names in random asto owner of pbone. But whatever. Waste of my money report was. Incorrect

Spokeo is a scam!

If I could give a zero rating I would! A complete crooked scam with false advertising. First of all, when I googled a phone number I did not know, the Google results showed I could contact Spokeo and get free results so I clicked on the link in order to find the owner of the phone number. To my surprise, there was an "elaborate search" done on the phone number by Spokeo (countdown showing what searches they were performing, etc) with the name and address of the alleged owner of the phone number blurred out with a statement showing I could get the info for $1.95. Against my better judgment, I paid the $1.95 fee and get a response that Spokeo had no info on the phone number with the exception of carrier and state where the phone number was registered, info that I could have received free from any Google search. So basically, Spokeo is a scam pretending they have info they do not. If I had time and money, I would sue the hell out of them for false advertising just for the principle. But this is what they depend on... right? They hope that hard working people will just accept the loss while they rake in thousands of dollars. False advertising! Don't be a dumb $#*! like I was.

Cons: Underwhelming in some areas and overwhelming in others. Lacks fluidity, convenienience, coherence, or any kind of overall compelling user experience. Not for beginners. Utilizes complicated, confusing response patterns based on negative reinforcement. Inadvertently humiliates users with special abilities. Submitted as legal documentation in regards to a civil, domestic lawsuit.

Pros: Loosely informative, somewhat easy to access, somewhat easy to understand, (Epstine didn't kill himself) considered to be overall engaging and educational, encourages forward based

DO NOT EVEN TRY THIS SERVICE!
Someone called me pretending to be the police... i tried using spokeo to look up the number that came up... all they told me was that it was a landline!
So today im in my bank account and low and behold SPOKEO stole $25 from my account! I called them and the BLACK woman said we can cancell but we DON'T GIVE REFUNDS!
Funny, the one that said he was a cop... was black too!

Total scam
February 20, 2022

Entered a phone number of someone I know. Before purchasing the report, spokeo said it found all sorts of data on the person with that number, like name, social media, email, and like 10 other things. So I bought the report, but the only thing it showed was that this is a landline, which is incorrect because I've been texting this person. So, the one piece of info provided was incorrect, plus it didn't provide any of the other info that it promised and that I was looking for. Not one bit worth it.

Dodgy or what?

Spokeo claim to provide a reverse email service.
I input a string of gibberish purporting to be a Hotmail.com address.

The Spokeo search engine claimed it had found the email!
I could see the report if I paid a subscription up front!

I repeated the exercise with another nonsense email. Same result. As they write in their spiel the results might shock me. I don't doubt it. I don't think It's worth even a single star rating but I can't submit this review without it.

I paid for a trial subscription at a reduced rate of $. 95, because I wanted one report. Despite paying I got no more information than I found for free at other sites. I want my money back.

I've tried several internet background check platforms & all offer basically same content. But $/mon. Not one compares to Spokeo's affordable rates & avail. To $ more/person instead of having to $ premium membership! Spok. Custom. Serv. Helpful listens and grateful to have invaluable service whilst running our small home business of short term renting. FINAL UPDATE: Updated my review to 3 stars because they actually did refund me. Not sure if they would have if there wasn't evidence through paypal. I have no anger towards anyone who works for Spokeo, but more so the business model and whoever's idea it was. The customer care was decent and when I explained everything and asked for a refund they actually gave me one. Took about 3 days. Don't file a dispute with Paypal, contact the customer care service. As for how well this works? Meh, I'm not sure about these sites in general and see other reviews. Never again will I use spokeo or probably any similar site. People seemingly don't get much info out of these while some do. If you use this, make sure to immediately cancel the automatic charge of $24.95 when that 7 day trial is over or you'll be out of that for however long. The whole experience was unsatisfactory minus when they actually gave me my money back. Maybe it was just my, and some other people's experiences, but sorry Spokeo. Never again will I use your service most likely. Maybe consider the whole automatic charge thing without people knowing and you might not get so many bad reviews.

PREVIOUS REVIEW: Same as everybody else. Paid 0.95 cents to look up one number and next thing you know you're charged 25 dollars and they refuse to refund you. Paypal can't even help in this situation, because believe me I tried. Once they take that 25 dollars out, they don't care. This is how they make their money. I looked them up on google to see if they were a legit company and trustworthy, but I'm wondering if the sites that said these things were paid to do so. Don't bother. And if any spokeo representative responds to this, don't bother unless you're planning on refunding me. I don't care otherwise. I don't want to use the site for the rest of the month. The site doesn't even work. I want my money back. How this site and business is still going is beyond on me but I'm not surprised considering they get their business out of cheating people. I will update my review or take down this negative one if the situation is made right. I just contacted their live chat and told they will contact Paypal and plan to refund me the $24.95 and it should take up to 14 days. But we'll see if they actually follow through.

Great Customer Service

I called Customer Service to ask about a bill. Tracy answered the phone within 3 rings and handled my situation professionally, quickly and with such a kind and calm voice. Customer Service agents are in demand these days. This girl is very good. I hope Spokeo takes good care of her!
