Prior to committing to the 7 day trial membership, the Spokeo website gave every indication that the record I was interested in contained a phone number and an email address. After signing up, the record contained neither of those things.

My son had not seen or heard from his dad in 13 years. I got on Spokeo hoping to find something out about him. I found out everything I needed to know & our son got to talk to him and he also went to live with him for a month. That was all our son could take of his dad. He found out what kind of a father he really is. Really sad... I had to go pick our son up in Missouri where he lives. I live in Indiana. Anyways, you may or may not have luck using Spokeo, but just letting you know it CAN turn out great for you in the end...

Etc., etc., etc.

Apparently the only reason they're in business is to scam customers out of their money. Their search results are INCREDIBLY, LAUGHABLY inaccurate. They have people I KNOW, who they show as living at addresses they moved out of 10-15 years ago, and also living at MULTIPLE addresses at the same time.

I'm stunned as to why they're allowed to continue to be in business.

It's 2022, and I just wanted to know where my client lives. Client bought property in 2017, 5 years ago, and yet the owners information on Spokeo is the owners as of 5 years ago. I verified it on BlockShopper, which has 2020 information. Why would Spokeo not subscribe to simple property ownership updates?

I also find records without a Month and day of birthday. This is also in the public realm. No reason for missing information.

I was able to locate long lost friends and am quite grateful. I used Truth Finder as well, which was comparable, but I started to receive a LOT of unwanted pop-up solicitation. That was disturbing and a huge turn off. I did not experience this with Spokeo. When I no longer needed my subscription, they ended it with ease.

Spokeo just another SCAM

Spokeo is just another scam. They advertise all over the Internet, saying you can use their service to learn information, including to whom a phone number belongs. I paid, I enter the phone number, and all they tell me is that it is a landline. No address. No name. Once again another scam operation. Shame on you for charging money and providing no service.

Of course what I thought was a $0.95 one time lookup was 5 months of $24.95 per month from my PayPal account for nothing…. I did ask for refund but of course was denied, but she said she did understand.

I didn't use it but..

You could literally go on white pages and even find landlines for free before you have to pay to open files. I tried the free search for Spokeo and they couldn't find anyone.
SiteJabber says they're shut down. Sites like Been Verified and People Searcher should be $#*! down too. This site was probably scamming people out of hundreds of dollars instead of giving out actual files like People Searcher and Been Verified do.

I did a search and paid the $0.99 for one search. I wasn't aware that it was a trial account and to my surprise was charged the full amount for a membership. Reached out to support who was helpful and they were only able to partially refund me $9 of the $24. I don't trust companies that won't give a full refund one day after you are charged and when you have not used and state you have no intention of continuing with the service.

Your information for the submitted phone number was to see if this number was for a fraud/scam call and business. When I called this number on March 25th I unfortunately talked to a rude/empty headed no nothing who was totally unable to assist me in any way. He refused to help in any way and all he could say was there was no supervisor. This number was supposed to cancel virus protection for $249.99 that I never bought or had anything to do with! This virus protection cancellation was to be done on March 35th and I tried--but to no success-only total rudeness in every way. How they had my number I do not know. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I'm genuinely ANGRY

I consciously used the service for a ONE time charge of 99c. Nowhere did I see anything about a subscription auto enrollment you name it. Well I'm at the grocery store tonight and go to check my account and was is pending? $24.99 to Spokeo. Conveniently right under the $25 mark. Anyway this is fraud in my opinion and I reached out to my bank and explained and they were familiar and suggested I cancel my card immediately given the charge is pending. I assume it will NOT just fall off and I will be charged ultimately. I will be continuing to pursue this as fraud with customer service at the bank in the morning. Money is TIGHT and this is completely deceptive and and a truly a pain in the $#*!. My heart absolutely sunk when I saw that charge as it came down to Spokeo's BS business practices or groceries. I'm not giving up until that money is returned to my account I don't care what it takes. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE OR GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR PAYMENT INFORMATION UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I'm disgusted with these people and this company if you can't tell.

They said they had info on my party so I paid for the info. Guess what? They didn't! What a crock of $#*!! Just as bad as other fraudulent sites. Don't do it- save your money!

According to my account I have been a subscriber for over a year thats over $300 taken from my bank accounts. I never received a single report. The one email I searched a year ago never came back with any report or information. And its cost me needlessly, avoid this company at all costs.
