There must be some fine print where you have unwittingly agreed to them continuing to debit your account month after month. I bought a record from them, but they continued to bill me monthly for several months even though I hadn't bought any other record. I called and complained. You have to be really insistent with them because the first thing they'll tell you is that they can only stop the "subscription" but not refund the money they've already taken. That's a lie. Insist on talking with a supervisor. You'll then be put on hold for a little bit and the representative will come back on the phone and agree to refund the money they took from you. They refunded the money they took from me. But the next month they were back at it again -- billing me again monthly even though I had not asked for any more reports. I'll never use this service again. Nobody needs to do business with a company like this.
I paid $. 95 for a single search and was enrolled for a monthly fee without my knowledge. When I tried to cancel PayPal transaction I was denied as cancellation was "too late". I never used service except for single $. 95 charge. These folks are a scam.

I am new to this the Spoken online research business. The companies agreement, in the contract before I sent them, is $. 95 to look up someone, was to agree to $25.95 a year. I am allowed to cancel. I have signed up twice this year. I should only have signed up once to use their services. I want a refund for one the agreements. Thieves! Rip Off Artists! Frauds! The Worst Possible of All!
They took my money and gave me a PDF of 1 page said essentially nothing!
They showed all the records available and did not provide any of them in the enhanced report they took the money for and then added insult to injury by requesting I join at like $30.00 a month! I am going to blog these thieves into the ground! They take me to Court... I welcome it! Even if they win, they get nothing, as; I have nothing to them to get! And I will have people there in court to witness the thieves in action! Make my day! I am getting my money back or a piece of them!

I was required by Spokeo to provide credit card info to verify my washer. They assured me out would never be charged, nor stored by them. I've now been charged at least two time for 25. I'm furious.
Do NOT trust this site. They will fraudulently charge you. Better to go to their competitors.

I used this site to check on a suspicious phone number. I believed I only purchased a one time 99cent lookup. Suddenly I have a $27.95 monthly subscription fee on my PayPal. The details of the transaction included a phone number to call. I braced myself for the usual resistance when dealing with these scandalous companies that trick you into monthly payments.
The phone call was answered after only one selection prompt and I spoke with Jason ID 1541. He was very professional and did not once try to lecture me about how I should have seen this that and the other that gave them a right to access my account. Without any hurdles at all he cancelled my membership, and issued a refund that posted to my account within an hour. Such a breath of fresh air. My hat goes off to spokeo for having an outstanding policy concerning such matters and for training their staff accordingly as well as giving their staff the authorization to make decisions and initiate the actions needed to complete. You guys are ahead of Adobe and several other large previously respectable companies by leaps and bounds. I hope your integrity continues to serve you well and that you beco. E hugely successful. This site is terrible and a SCAM they pop things up for you to pay for and then you get a very limited basic report that doesn't even give you complete information. For example it will give you the report that there is a court record, the charge, and a case number Just BASIC information, it doesn't even give docket information so I paid $20 to see something I have already looked up on my own and the free public access gave more information making me think I am getting more info from them. SCAMMING me into thinking I am getting more information from their site. I looked up a person that had over 80 court cases BUT they could not come up with NOT one picture or mugshot that they claim they could give you. These sites CAN only compile what people already can get a FREE access too through public records and do NOT give access to everything that is promised by their site. Lawyers need to get after these sites for Class actions. SHOULD NOT have a star system for this site, it is just horrible what they do to people who don't know how to search information and are paying for FREE information through this site while baiting people like me who know how to find FREE public record but looking for more in depth promised information and just getting pop ups and ran around and never getting the extra deeper information.
The photo below is 95% or the paid report I cut the top out to remove the persons Name. This is all you get for your money. FREE PUBLIC basic information, doesn't even include the actual court record (Docket information) just skims and gives basic info. I don't think these sites have the technology to get the information only the technology to scan the internet and compile already free information so they are scamming you into thinking you will have access to deep information like mug shots and things that did not make it to court but all you will get is click bait that you will paid for.

I wanted to pay. 95 for a one-time look-up. I made sure I did not use a subscription box. They charge my card for 3 monthly
subscriptions. They should not force the product on someone. I have used the product in the past and it was good, but I have no use subscribing for a one-time look-up. Very disappointed

Answer: Watch for the $20 charge at the end of the month. They say a person is out, then the charge comes a month later. Had to cancel my card and get new # to keep them out of my wallet.
Answer: Three alternatives: 1) Logon with you old Spokeo account and contact customer support. 2) If you can't remember your old logon, 2.1) try a google search to find Spokeo customer service link or telephone number. 2.2) Spokeo has notes on some reviews. Maybe they have included their support number or link? 3) Call Visa and ask them to kill the Spokeo charges to your Visa account.

Answer: I cancelled Spokeo service due to selling me misinformation or inaccurate information. I got this in writing from David at Spokeo. They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.
