5 star rip off! You can't cancel online! They are not giving any information pertinent to what you search. I'm looking local and they are sending me to WA and WI. You can only write a review with 3 or more stars. Hope you are reading this besides looking at the stars.
I tried this service to see if I could find out who was sending me threatening texts. The preview suggested they could provide the owner of the number's name and address. But after paying, the report only showed the caller was from Cleveland (which I already knew from the area code) and the only new info was that it was a landline. So, I spent a buck to find out it was a landline. Except it is sending texts so it is actually a mobile number. Clearly not a good value. I feel scammed. Unless you are prepared to get a lot less information than you expect from the preview of your search (which must be some animation unrelated to your actual search), don't sign up for this. Canceling is a multi-step process, requiring me to assert over and over that I wanted to cancel.

I normally don't write reviews, but I feel like I had to leave this review. Its like other people search websites where its used to look up people and get info. I used spokeo and the info I got is the same thing you can find for FREE and even just googling up people! The people I found on other websites... couldn't find it on Spokeo! Addresses were so old they're just GARBAGE! I was using this to look up my former classmates and I need that info so I can contact them by dropping a letter in... and I couldn't find it!
The 19.99 dollars I've paid is not worth it. I wouldn't trust the info I found on my parents... spokeo claims it searches the deep web---don't trust this claim you can get the same info for FREE!
However, the customer service is the BEST I HAVE EVER RECEIVED! My customer agents got back to me when I have contacted Spokeo about my problems... usually within a day or so and they even SEARCHED SOMEONE FOR ME! I could give TEN STARS if I could!
The reason why I put 2 stars is the data itself was so old it doesn't seem like spokeo updates their info! The info I found on instantcheckmate and peoplelooker I couldn't find here: "No results found".
Update--I have received a 7.98 dollar refund from spokeo... not the full refund but still acceptable.

I was trying to register for a different website when it redirects me to register for Spokeo without noticing. When I'm trying to cancel and get a refund at the same hour they did not give me a full refund. Also their costumer support is rude. This website definitely feels like a scam.

You are then told to pay an amount of money to view your results. You are deceived, thinking you have results that match your criteria. I first heard of Spokeo in 2020, and then I found myself using it almost daily. I loved it, but Now, i don't even recommend it. You have to pay for even just a basic name to a number search, which could very well not even be accurate. But then have to keep paying. Heck you even have to pay for a pdf file now! Which is after you have to pay for just the search to begin. It's Ridiculous! However I keep finding myself coming back to this site for searches, in hopes it will get better or back to how it used to be. Otherwise it is now become just the same as any other search site.

Answer: Watch for the $20 charge at the end of the month. They say a person is out, then the charge comes a month later. Had to cancel my card and get new # to keep them out of my wallet.
Answer: Three alternatives: 1) Logon with you old Spokeo account and contact customer support. 2) If you can't remember your old logon, 2.1) try a google search to find Spokeo customer service link or telephone number. 2.2) Spokeo has notes on some reviews. Maybe they have included their support number or link? 3) Call Visa and ask them to kill the Spokeo charges to your Visa account.

Answer: I cancelled Spokeo service due to selling me misinformation or inaccurate information. I got this in writing from David at Spokeo. They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.
