Bait and switch! When I ordered this service I was told ALL installation was free. Now I'm being charged $50 per line (they don't consider this installation). Technician was rude and threatened to walk out if he didn't start right away(wouldn't let us call to get clarity). Customer service bounced me around to 5 different people and the last one was rude and hung up on me. In 12 months this service will be history!
I haven't really had any bad experiences since I've had Spectrum for internet the last 7 months. Never did either when I briefly had TWC about 6 years. The speed is always consistent for our needs. We normally use about 4-5 devices at a time and stream on at least two of them, play games on another one. Rarely ever buffers or goes out, and if it does it is only for about maybe a minute.
I did have a streaming service with them and it was okay, but due to just my budget I took it off and there were no problems with that process either over the phone.
I am aware the price will go up $20 after my year ends. I feel like people may fail to notice this on the website or get told otherwise by an inaccurate agent or one that doesn't explain it well enough. It is the base rate for the internet, and you should take note of that before signing up for the service. It is a little high for my taste but for me it has been a good service. My only real complaint is I wish there were other tiers of internet speed to pick from than just starting at 200 because it may make it a bit cheaper. I have to mention I also work for a third party that sells Spectrum services, and I do understand the product in and out. Although I do hear a lot of complaints, some can be pretty legitimate but some would be resolved just by reading up on general internet speeds, how it operates, and other providers before going too crazy. Spectrum, formally Time Warner does not appreciate customer loyalty. I tried 4 different times to get the 4 services I used with them lowered to what they offered new customers with no movement on their end. After being a loyal customer with TWC for over 20 years, I, along with 6 of my neighbors are moving to their competition. What a shame, TWC was bad, but Spectrum Customer Services takes horrible to a completely different level.
Get out of this service! Very expensive! They are the biggest rip off as far as price is concerned. Do no take what they call promotional deals that they give you at the beginning. Your bill will soon skyrocket. Also they are now changing the the small digital boxes out, and want you to pay for it. What a scam they have going. ATT is a bit cheaper, but not by much.
If you have another choice other than Spectrum, take it! I have internet, telephone and five cable boxes and it has been an absolute NIGHTMARE with them. I thought Time Warner was bad, but Spectrum makes Time Warner look WONDERFUL, in comparison. Cant wait to cut the cable cord. Thank you Spectrum for making me see the light and cut the cable cord!
WIFI constantly going off for no reason, DVR doesn't even work and I've had about 5 different technicians show up to my house over my time with Spectrum. All they managed to do was drill unnecessary holes and proceed to tell me that I couldn't have service that I paid for and was promised. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. HORRENDOUS
I was a long Warner cable internet user, they begged me to try their triple play. Last November I did, four months later I explained that I was not happy with it and wanted to just go back to the internet. They want to charge me 20 bucks more for the same service I had before. They suck
SPectrum increased the price to 19.99/month for Internet, and lowered the bandwidth. They are trying to get me to upgrade the plan. NOT A CHANCE! If I could find another company that offers what I need I would drop them. I keep them for emergencies only, in case I lose my phone connection. However, I am considering dropping the internet all together.
I NOW have unlimited HOTSPOT through my carrier, which allows me use my phone to access Internet. Gotta love technology.
Spectrum tech was supposed to come and install new service between 9-10 am.
It is now 10:50 and no one came or called to reschedule the appointment.

The first two times they said the issue was with a modem I owned, which had been purchased through them. After purchasing a brand new piece of equipment, nothing has changed and the service is just as dog$#*!. Anyone giving this business a five star rating is an employee or a bot.
For over 6 monts, 22 service calls and paying promptly for promised internet speed for up to 300 mb/sec, receiving maximum speeds of 26 Mb/sec. Calling customer service every day, waiting for over 20 minutes to speak to a rude and unprofessional supervisor who treats you as an idiot and tells you to restart your modem every time knowing that it is complete stupidity! Preparing a lawsuit -had enough with these jerks!
Since I have switched to SPECTRUM for their internet service. I could not be any happier. Fast and reliable connections; high-speed internet for uploading and downloading. When I pay my bill at the local office in Clarksburg, West Virginia. They always greet me with a smile. Their technicians are so professional and willing to solve any problem within 24 hours.
Complete crooks. They upped my bill this month by over 30% and when I called, after being a customer for over 12 years at this location, they basically told me tough sh*t. Now, I've to to cancel them and start all over. What a bunch of total A**holes.

Since TWC switched over to Spectrum ALL current services went up in package pricing while losing options at same time. Have you all noticed you can barely even purchase an OnDemand movie anymore? Most movies through Spectrum have moved over to being claimed a HBO or Cinemax etc movie station that you have to sign on to purchasing every month as opposed to having to just purchase an on Demand movie. Sneaky. No wonder why everyone is leaving. Bill is aprox $220 a month now and have NO movie stations. Dish Network and Netflix & Hulu here we all come!
Worst company I have ever dealt with. Their motto is " My way or the Highway!" Arrogant customer service, do not care about loyal customers.
After requesting cancellation for internet service, I received three calls from their retention department. They offered me basic internet service for $39,99 a month, and guaranteed this was not a promotion. She told me my rate would never change as long as I didn't change the level of service. Two years later, they changed my rate and called my new rate a "promotion", telling me my original rate was also a promotion, and that I misunderstood. The fellow I spoke with today (Tony Employee *******) had that cool northern accent, and was condescending. He kept telling me how fortunate I was to have the new rate. I have recordings of all, and will post online. These thieves are the worst I've ever encountered in the internet field, and rude to boot.
Do you ever wonder when talking to someone in customer service just exactly why they are this field? I just got off the phone with a Spectrum representative who was so smug and condescending I just had to ask her if she liked her job because she certainly didn't sound like she did. If that is the field you want to be in then learn how to talk to people. You have a job because of your customers.
And I thought TWC's pricing was bad. Spectrum is far worse! At least with TWC I could sign a 12 mo. Contract for a promotional rate. Under Spectrum, there is no contract so they just keep raising the price. Two price increases in 6 months! These guys are thieves. Will be looking for alternatives. Can I give zero stars?
1. Last fall I had to renegotiate my contract from Time Warner to Spectrum. To keep just what I had with TW my bill would have gone up $35/mo. After 45 minutes in the local (now Spectrum) office, I agreed to a $10/mo increase. They told me that I would have all of the channels I had before but I had would lose the 3 premium movie channels. I agreed to that. When the new contract went into effect, I lost several channels I had before and was told I had to pay for additional tiers to get what I had lost. I was lied to by Spectrum!
2. I will be watching a show (not recorded) and the box will suddenly reboot. Usually in the middle of the day (2-3 pm). Then I have to wait ~10 minutes to get my TV back. By then I have missed that viewing time. This is really bad when you are watching a movie that is not recorded. I called them to fine out why they rebooted at that time. Of course they had no record of the reboot.
3. Now I am having a problem that I will be watching a channel and it suddenly goes blank and a screen comes up and says, for example, "The Tennis channel is not available. Try again later". Sometimes it is several minutes, sometimes hours before it comes back. I called Spectrum and complained. They check the connection and a bunch of other stuff and said they found no problem (of course). When I asked to speak to a supervisor, the no-customer-service person put me on hold for 3-4 minutes. She came back and started by saying, "My supervisor said...". I interrupted her and said I want to speak directly to the supervisor. She said the only thing she could do was schedule a call-back, which I had to agree to. I was called back several minutes later and she scheduled a service appointment.
4. This has been typical service since Spectrum took over. I did not have nearly the issues with TW and when I did they helped me most of the time over the phone. So now I pay almost $200/mo for TV, Internet and cable. I would dump them in a second but they have a monopoly here.
It's just the worst to deal with these people all they want to do is try to raise your bill for the same thing and tell you that you've been on a promotion and that's going to run out and that they need to raise your price $40 when it's already been raised. I don't know how long they can survive doing this but a hundred and something one stars to five five stars tells you the future Spectrum sucks so bad. I waste an hour on the phone with them and then they try to raise your bill $30 for the same service. I've never wanted to blow my brains out so bad dealing with a company they are the absolute worst and everyone knows this we all just need to cancel

Answer: You're smart to stay with FIOS. Spectrum is the worst cable company around. They're very expensive and your bill will start creeping up every other month without any explanation. Avoid Spectrum!
