Time Warner/Spectrum has always sucked, but now since the merge/buy out, they're even more horrible. Bought new Home recently. Online it searched by my home address and said internet service was available. $44/month for 12 months. Ordered it online. Even set date and time. Gave me a confirmation number. Then said to call to finish order. I called. A customer service representative who sounded like he was asleep took my call, asked for my confirmation number, my address and then mumbled "I'm sorry ma'am, we don't service your area. Have a nice day". Then hung up. End of story. Seriously? I can understand no service in my area. I'll even try to understand that the online check where I was told I could get service, when in fact I could not. But to provide that kind of non-caring personality to possible future customers? Horrible! Worse than Time Warner agents ever had time to be.

Spectrum is one of those companies that use the shady practice of spoofing the first few digits of a legitimate phone number. I hate telemarketers and don't normally answer the phone if I don't recognize a number. But I recently received one that the caller ID came up as "DIR ASST OH *******698." Thinking I was getting a call from Directory Assistance I of course answered the phone only to have a man with a very thick accent that I couldn't understand and a lot of background noise tell me he was calling on behalf of Spectrum and launched into a sales pitch. I tried politely interrupting him but he just kept talking until I had to become more forceful and then disconnect the call. If Spectrum will use such shady tactics as this just to get customers I can only wonder what shady tactics one would have to deal with after becoming a customer.

I moved to LA in 2011. Have had Adelphia, then TW Cable, and now Spectrum since then. Spectrum is the WORST. On Demand doesn't work half the time, they can't figure out why and their prices went up another 50% on top of it. Don't get Spectrum. I'm on the verge of jettisoning them. Get another cable and internet service.

Called about getting my bill changed due to a flier I received in the mail. I was transferred 6 times and still couldn't get an answer from anyone. The managers need to get on the floor with their employees and train them through these scenarios. Very unsatisfied with the customer service.

Since having Spectrum install my wifi and TV I've had 3 different boxes installed in less than 3 months. I've called them continuously with problems: can't fast forward, can't rewind, can't pause, can't change channel.
Changes to unwanted channel. Missing recorded programs, automatically rewinds to previous program and channels, can't bring up TV guide. EVERY DAY. Every time I'm on Skype my wifi connection goes down.
They've sent out techs just about every week that I've called them, however you have to listen to a very annoying recorded message every time you call. The most stupid thing about their recorded message is that they ALWAYS say "we are experiencing an unusually high volume of calls.". If you hear this message EVERY time you call how can it be an unusually high volume of calls. None of these techs have been able to solve the problems and I continue to experience them EVERY DAY.
They keep saying it's a software problem. Well it hasn't been fixed so when are they going to fire their software engineers and managers as they haven't been able to fix the problems and I really don't think they should be in business. I'm now convinced there is an alien that runs Spectrum. I work for a multinational cooperation that employs 50.000+ employees and I know the contact details of my Chairman, CEO, CFO, etc.
I asked for these details from Spectrum and they didn't know any details further than their supervisor, how embarrassing, but I guess when you NEED a job you just don't care. Before taking legal action for misrepresentation I'll probably just go back to ATT.
However, I do enjoy shouting down the phone to *** them off, as much as they *** me off. What goes around, comes around.

Spectrum are crooks
October 3, 2018

Why does the FCC allow spectrum to. Take over the airways. I have to purchase a box (expensive) or download an app on to my smart TV to watch cable now? Why can't I just plug in my cable. Wire to my TV like. I used to? How come nobody regulates their charges? Why are they allowed to charge an outrageous amount? Oh I know, one hand washes the other and everyone's pockets are lined with cash. Except ours, the consumers. The FCC and spectrum make.me sick
They are greedy and money hungry. We don't even have a choice where. I live, only spectrum. I will stick with Netflix and Redbox. I will miss my shows but I won't fill their. Pockets.

The worst of the worst
October 2, 2018

There is no choice when you want cable and internet services in most places. If you want a landline, like me it becomes an impossibility to find an alternative. At least without a landline, you can go to a satellite provider like Direct TV or Dish. I have to have a land line, not only for the sound quality, but because all my services and websites are linked to one number I have had for 21 years. Recently, I wanted to cut my bill down. I said that I only wanted a few sports and news channels plus HBO and Showtime. I don't watch TV very much but when I do, the shows on the premium channels appeal to me. Also ESPN, and a few news channels. So I ask the lady if I can cut down my bill, and the most we could trim was about $10. I pay $221 a month for cable, internet, and landline. This company must be paying off lobbyists to cheat the public. What other reason is there? They are all about greed and nothing else.

Terrible
September 28, 2018

This is hands down the worst cable internet I've ever had. The internet goes out multiple times a day. I've gone over on my phone data because of the internet dropping so much. Costumer service... they are comparable to Comcast and I don't mean that in a good way! They read off a script sometime lie. I've had technician out here twice in 5 months only to be told their equipoise crap. I've asked to speak with a supervisor and it never happens. Unfortunately I'm stuck with this subpar internet because that's all that is offered in my area.

I have had several issues with them since Spectrum took over. I had been paying the bill for over 10 years for our service with TWC and then when Spectrum took over I went into pay and they wouldn't take my payment for the bill as they stated that my name wasn't on the bill. I had to have my husband come in and add me to the account. I didn't want to change any service or anything I just wanted to pay the bill. My next issue that when you go into pay you have to enter your name on a computer that puts your name on a big screen for everyone to see. I have so many more issues but what other choices do we have!

Bad Internet Service
September 24, 2018

I have had Time Warner which became Brighthouse which became Spectrum. They advertise starting speeds of 100Mbps, but if I'm lucky, I might get 10Mbps. Usually, it is 3Mbps or less. Got a Roku stick to watch TV, but because the internet is so slow, it buffers constantly. Especially bad after 9 pm for some reason. Can't wait until there are other options - maybe Verizon 5G or Tmobile 5G. Paying a lot and not getting nearly my money's worth. Wanted to take back two cable boxes and replace with Roku, but I guess if I want to actually watch TV, I'll need to keep one of the two extra boxes I have.

After 11 years of service, the new deafening and incessant amber alert hijacking of my cable box was enough to make me yank the cable box out and return it to Spectrum! It was the methods of delivering the amber the were unacceptable. My cable box was hijacked for more than an hour where it was impossible to view any programming. I refuse to pay for this type of intrusion! A simple scroll bar at the bottom of the screen would have been far more effective.

I keep getting pixelization and distortion when I watch my recorded shows, and my internet speeds are very slow. How dare they charge such outrageous fees for the $#*!ty product they serve up. If they weren't a monopoly, they'd never last in a competitive environment. It just goes to show how corrupt our Florida Public Service Commission and the state politicians are to allow this to continue year after year.

They are the most deceptive company I have ever dealt with. I was dumb enough to leave ATT for one of their specials. Not at all special. Try getting them to honor it. Cost me a bunch but will find another provider ASAP. May beg ATT to take me back. I could do a great commercial

Go back to dvds and reading books because spectrum is not reliable and customer support is so lack luster all you will do is get angry. At any rate be prepared to spend hours trying to solve the problem if you get that far.
