We have been moving from one state to another a lot, therefore, had several different Internet services. Spectrum is the worst one so far. Other companies started raising price slowly by few cents towards the end of one or two year contract ends. Spectrum promised us certain price of bundle for a year, but every three months almost $3.00 went up blaming rising prices of other companies' services that Spectrum is using. I know that it is a pittance compare to what is to come after one year is over. On top of this, we get less movie channels. We are terminating Spectrum's service.
I'd like to encourage people to file a complaint on FCC's website, believe me, FCC is doing its job. We may not always get the results that we want, but they are on the FCC's record, this is how FCC investigates and fines the companies. We should be active not taking this lying down. Well, Spectrum received a hefty fine in NY not long ago.
Only in US, this kind of price gouging happens very unfortunately.
Since Timewarner became Spectrum, things have really gone downhill. Their prices are ridiculous and go up like crazy every year. They could care less about loyal customers. They thank you by raising prices every year! Once you get in on one of their "deals", get ready for your prices to go up, up, up. Every year.
Customer service is horrible. They seem to do nothing but pass you around from person to person and nothing is ever resolved. And you grow moss because you are on hold forever.
You can't get anyone to come out and service your equipment without having to pay, even if it is Spectrums fault.
This company could care less about it's customers. They only care about ripping people off and making money.

I have been with brighthouse/spectrum for 20 years. Ever since spectrum bought the company, they have increased my bill every 8 months or so! They don't care about customer retention and loyalty! Horrible customer service!
Every other month my bill increases. The broadcast and sports programming fee is ridiculous. They have the ability to tack on fees that are never ending and that they can raise as often as they choose and you have no choice but to pay it. There is no such thing as negotiating a lower bill. They flatly refuse. There's a difference between making a profit and gouging the customers. More and more people will begin cutting the cord. Too bad I can't give negative stars!

The ultimate corporate Bully! Spectrum/Charter/Time Warner, whatever you want to call them, I call them greedy inflexible corporate bullies.
They think their you know what don't stink, they constantly run misleading promotions only to be able to stick it to you with continuously higher rates. I recently suffered some financial hardship and got behind by one month but always managed to make payments so I would not be more than 2 months past due. EVERY month they constantly threaten to shut your service off with no flexibility to work with cooperative good paying customers. They are corporately heartless!
DO NOT USE THEM if possible. Look at all other options that offer respectful people and work with someone who cares about their customers.
Their constant badgering phone calls and emails threatening to cut off my service has caused me mental distress to the point I had to see a therapist because I became so anxious due to their tactics. THEY SIMPLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. They only want your money to sign up and that's when their nice.
After that, your *** to them.
If I had the time and energy, I would organize a protest in front of their offices in San Diego condemning their business practices. Awful company

This company is HORRIBLE. The customer service is atrocious. They scam you into buying a business plan for a residential house because the internet drops so much - and it still doesn't work! Calling them is a joke and no one seems to know how to help. We have called over 4x and had to wait multiple days for a tech to come out to fix it... and it still wasn't fixed! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, RUN!
Like many companies nowadays, this company is dishonest and they don't treat their customer's well at all It's all about how they can trick and squeeze you for every penny. They rope you into thinking one thing, then spike your rates the longer you stay with them. Be prepared to deal with this trick and a lot of bait and switch tactics. If you can get another service provider, do it!
Would leave 0 stars if possible. Took off work Multiple times to have service installed, waited all day for someone to show and was rescheduled without being notified. Call to talk to someone and let them know my frustration and was only told there was nothing they could do about me being rescheduled, they can't make someone come out when they are supposed to.
We switched from Time Warner Cable to Spectrum on the advice of our cable installer. He told us we'd get better service, faster Internet, etc. We switched. Now we have a system where it can take an hour to get the television to come on (occasionally more). It almost never takes less than 4 to 5 minutes.
The system is so complicated that it occasionally requires us to unplug the cable box to get everything reset. After that, we're in for 10 to 15 minutes to get things working.
On the Internet side, the speeds are significantly slower generally. However, when the rest of the neighborhood is on the system, you can take a nap waiting for it to respond.
On the positive side, there really is a lot more available, it just isn't anything that you'd normally pay more for. Do I want to go back to Time Warner? No. I'm on the cusp of being a cable cutter.
Been trying to resolve an error code RGE-1001 for almost a week. Keep being told they "are working on it." Sent emails and they do not even have the decency to reply to emails. Called the contact # numerous times just to be told the same crap! Was even told that the issue was fixed and to re log into the Spectrum app and that will fix it. Guess what? No fix. I don`t know how this company can treat customers like this. It is extremely frustrating. They have no regard. Makes me sick to watch their commercials on TV to show what a wonderful company the are! False advertising all around! Just a joke!
Do not go with spectrum your life will be miserable when trying to resolve an issue. First they made me switch to a box. I had 100 channels with out a box. Then when they gave me the box I got 12 channels. They said I needed to upgrade My bill was 30.00 If I upgrade it was going up to about 90.00 to get what I had without a box. So I cancelled the tv service. I also had phone and internet. Security system through phone was off for 2 months they never called to tell me the line was not active, but I was getting charged. So I cancelled the phone line that was running my security. Then they said since my phone line was cancelled now I am not a bundle and my price will go up another 10.00 for less than I had earlier. But since I was an existing customer I can not get the promo deals. That I have to cancel all services for 30 days and resign as a new customer to get the promo prices. I was getting 30 megabits down load speed and they were charging me 97.00 So I cancelled and whent to HTC and am getting 200 megabits down load for less 79.00 also if you call you are sent on a wild goose chase and never getting the issue resolved. I have my own business and if i ran my business like Spectrum does I would be out of business. They have a Manopaly going on. If you have another choice I recommend going with there competitors your life will be a lot easier and less stressful.
All I want to know is why my bill went up for no reason! So I called. Which was great, a real person answered. Turns out she's worst than a robot. Asking me for a security code and refused to help me locate that. It was on my monthly bill statement. How hard is it to just where it is located? That's one count. Then I asked the price for a service in my area with voice and Internet. Which she doesn't know how much it was. Has she been through training at all? Second count. Okay, then I asked her to transfer me to the sales department so I can ask about promotions. She did! Hooray, except she transfer me to a totally irrelevant department. Third count. I mean, I know Bright House was infamous. Changing the name to Spectrum without changing how you assist the customer. What good does it do? This is why spectrum last half of its market cap! Lol, short this crap because it will eventually go out of business.
I have lived at the same residence for over 30 years and originally subscribed to cable for $25 month to obtain commercial free TV. Things have changed and now we must have Internet service to arrange Doctors, School, locate a job, get disability, social security track and resolve credit issues, etc. My bill is now $200.00 for mostly commercials/infomercials on TV, Internet speeds way beyond what I need (only one tier now) TV packages that give me a few things I want, but eliminate just a select few to force you to switch to higher priced package, no customer service and folks that do not negotiate and do not care. We are held hostage. They are losing customers faster that kids learn to text. I will move to any other service as soon as I can and look forward to the day that Spectrum goes bankrupt. Boycott or change service if you can.
Expensive and double talking to confuse people. They want your bill at least 170.00 rigged. ARE not customer friendly and do not extend to loyal customers BAD COMPANY
I have been a customer with Charter Communications in one way or another for over 30 years. I have no idea if the decline in service not to mention the abysmal products has anything to do with spectrum taking over. I've been at my current residence for less than 2 years. They came out and did complete new wire work, which I was charged for, and assured me that I had the latest technology available. After that I have had the best and most highest priced DVR boxes replaced many many times. Today is the last straw! Once again, my box freezes up and they could not fix it over the phone, which happens on a monthly basis. Most of the time, which is weekly, I can unplug the Box and reset it. Anyway, they sent a technician out with a knew Box today at 4:00 p.m. Literally, with in 45 minutes of his departure it goes out again. I called spectrum back and told them what a heavy burden it was for me, just a working man on a salary, to take off work this many times for their appointments, especially when they don't know what they're doing in resolving my issue. So, he had not been gone an hour before the junky equipment tears up again and spectrum tells me they can not get any body back out here. I am done, the next time this messes up, I will not be Calling spectrum again, it will be their competition! By the way, I have the most highest priced package they offer, my bill every month its over $200, there is no appreciation whatsoever. Not to mention, I don't know where they're getting their employees that answer the phone, it's definitely some 3rd world country where nobody has the ability to speak correct English.
Time Warner would work with you on price and Spectrum refuses. When I was with TW I was paying $89.00 a month for cable, Internet and phone. I just received my latest bill for $178.15. Spectrum WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU.

I CONTACTED SPECTRUM ABOUT A TV + INTERNET BUNDLE, I DELT WITH JAMES IN MOORESVILLE NC, AND WAS TOLD MY BILL WOULD BE $119.99 + TAX A MONTH, GUARANTEED FOR 12 MONTHS, SO I AGREEDED TO HAVE IT INSTALLED... THE VERY NEXT WEEK MY PROMISED PROGRAMMED CHANNELS WAS CUT IN HALF, AND MY BILL WENT TO $159.99 + TAX + AN ADDITIONAL $40.00 IN EQUIPMENT COST ADDED, SO NOW I'M AT ALMOST $200.00,1/2 THE CHANNELS, AND A VERY SLOW LAGGING INTERNET...
I'M DEFINATELY CANCELING, AND SWITCHING BACK TO DISHNETWORK...
Takes too long to channel surf, using favorites is bizarre not same pattern every time. Many channels of standard definition of very poor quality. Old system better faster more information with less words now if you mess this up why would I buy cell phone service from you!?
Upgrading my phone line from residential to business was a three week nightmare. Called every day for three weeks. Kept getting transferred from department to department. On the phone for five hours the second day after the modem was installed.
Finally in the third week I got an mature lady in Austin who helped. Before that I was transferred all over the country by a bunch of uncaring idiots with what must be airtight job security.
Horribly expensive, not so good service and ZERO consideration for their customers and problems they cause due to their outages!
