Horrible company

Absolutely horrible company. I moved and disconnected my service 15 days into the month and they charged an entire month. They stated is it somewhere in all of the junk they send you... not sure that is the case, but they get you every way they can.
I disconnected because my service kept going up in price. They work deals to get you but do nothing to keep you. I called and asked for specials and they lady would not even look into anything. She immediately stated, "we have nothing for you since your initial promotion has ended." Wow... I will NEVER get this service again!

My experience with Spectrum internet and TV provider has been nothing short of a frustrating nightmare. I had a simple inquiry about their services and never expected to receive any equipment before making a decision. To my dismay, they sent me the equipment without my consent or confirmation.

I had only spoken to their representative over the phone, and I made it clear that I needed time to consider my options and would call them back. Unfortunately, it seems they completely disregarded my request and proceeded to ship the equipment without my authorization.

Now, I find myself burdened with the hassle of having to return the unwanted equipment. This is an inconvenience I didn't ask for and could have easily been avoided had they respected my decision-making process.

The lack of transparency and respect for customer preferences is truly disappointing. I expected better from a reputable company like Spectrum. Instead, I feel like they are trying to pressure customers into committing to their services without giving them a fair chance to explore alternatives.

As a result of this experience, I am now apprehensive about continuing any further discussions with Spectrum. I'm concerned that this might not be an isolated incident and could be indicative of their overall customer service approach.

I strongly advise potential customers to be cautious when dealing with Spectrum. If they are willing to send equipment without consent, who knows what other surprises they may have in store for unsuspecting customers?

In conclusion, I'm highly dissatisfied with this situation, and my trust in Spectrum has been severely undermined. Returning their equipment will be the last interaction I have with them, and I will be exploring other service providers who prioritize customer respect and understanding.

First off I asked for insurance and they didn't add it. Told them my cell phone can be a life or death situation, especially if it's defective, but all they could say was I apologize, over and over but don't give a $#*! if there equipment is defective nor do they care if their defective equipment could cost you your life. For a couple of decades, I have used GoDaddy hosting for a series of Websites I maintain.

I have recently acquired Spectrum's cable Internet. With Spectrum, I can not link with GoDaddy to upload my Web files. Contact is made but a blockage occurs (a firewall or something) that prevents handshaking and a connection. The attempted connection always times out!

I have a Verizon and a T-Mobile portable hotspot that I can use for a connection. They work great but Spectrum uniquely doesn't work. A Spectrum representative has removed the Spectrum router's security so that shouldn't be the problem.

I acquired Spectrum for the higher fiber optic speed. Unfortunately, the speed is useless if Spectrum doesn't connect.

Spectrum's lack of ability to correct the problem is frustrating.

We've had spectrum for almost 3 years and of course the prices have skyrocketed but the major issue is that I can no longer ( as of recently) even view shows later on demand that come on the Chanel's we actually pay for. This is ridiculous and I'm canceling atp!

Terrible

There's always something wrong with their service. For no reason, the cable box shuts off, and the screen goes black. That happened 4-5 times while watching a show. At night, when I click on the guide, it says, 'please wait.' What in the hell are we waiting for? I called them, and he said it was probably the cable box. If there was another cable company near me, I'd change! Their bill keeps going up, and the service keeps going down.

Outage

So in the zip code ******* we have been experiencing outages on average every other night for 2 or 3 months now. Storms have been passing through the last month. So outages are more common but explainable. Well pay $86 a month for service that only works half of the day! We haven't been given any credit or discounts. I have been with this co?any for almost 20 years now but will be switching to t-mobile come August! The fees they charge aren't worth the service they supply!

I went to the Portsmouth office and spoke to a representative who I left a five-star review for. She went above and beyond what anyone could expect. However, a technician was scheduled to come to my residence several hours later to replace a modem that was older than father time. The technician came to my house and advised me that if the modem is bad he does not have a modem or router with him. Why would you service a customer for a bad modem that you asked to be replaced without bringing a modem around them with you? That is like a surgeon trying to perform surgery without a patient or instruments! I do not understand what the technician hope to accomplish. I spent 2 hours on the phone with support still trying to rectify this situation! From a top notch experience in Portsmouth Ohio this morning to thinking I was being punked on MTV in the afternoon. The technician was very friendly! But how can you expect to replace an aging broke modem or router that's not working when you come to a service call without a router or modem? That is like me going to the Ohio lottery and can I be a winner and them saying did you purchase a ticket and I say no not today I have in the past! You'll like it

Worst customer service. They charged me $175 for a phone bill one month with one line. You will be in hold for hours to try to resolve there mistakes. They take your money and hold it. I tried canceling my internet. They made a mistake by not doing whatever they needed to do, kept charging me, then charged me for the month AFTER I cancelled because THEY made a mistake. Who has time for all that? Im on the phone for HOURS with these people and they say they resolved the issue, only to NOT resolve the issue. Just don't. Youre better than this.

There have more new 5G internet providers who are much less expensive and faster than Spectrum. Besides Spectrum has not been a good players of transparencies which are:
-They increase the fee without letting us know, like f "catch-me-if-you-can" through billing. If you have paperless and autopay, that where they got the extra money. Don't fall for the phrase " you have 60 days to dispute the differences...
-When you return the rented router/modem properly through procedure and instruction (through UPS scan code), they still charged you, until you called them to let them know that already returned, or they would tell you lie that they did not have the records or could track back the records, but still give me back 4 months? How the hell that you just reimbursed me for 4 months, while your rep just stated that they did not have the information of the returned rented device?
-Spectrum fee is very high for old technology and considered very slow speeds, in my area is around 60-70mbp if we are lucky! So shop around to see who are available with new technology which are not depend on digging connections.

Every person we spoke to was unprofessional and didn't know how to do their job. They sent us broken equipment and didn't even know how to tech help us on it (battery back). Wish they didn't hold monopoly for our facility. Went back and forth on phone numerous times to make things easier to only make it worst. Hope they read this review and retrain their staff and update their products.

Spectrum sucks for many reasons. Intermittent internet levels, non functioning channel selections.
But the worst is the non stop advertising of themselves. Spectrum runs more commercials about themselves, I hate it.
Changing going to Roku streaming.
See ya Spectrum, stop bothering your customers with your commercials, especially when they are already a customer.

We did a little downsizing recently and returned a cable box to Spectrum. Once the box was returned via their method, I called Customer Service to have the monthly fee removed from the bill. The customer service rep stated that the monthly fee would be removed and a switch would be made to a different cable package. About ten minutes after the call was made...POOF...a whole bunch of channels were no longer available. Burned Once. What they heck? So I called back and was given a reason right out of the pages of Thats Incredible. The rep informed me that the package had been changed to 'streaming' from a package that was labeled as something like 'heritage' customer, meaning we had been a customer with Bright House. I told the rep that in no way shape or form that I request a change in package and the purpose of the call was to inform Spectrum of the equipment return. I asked that the previous existing package be restored. And to my surprise, I was told that in no uncertain terms can the previous package be restored...by more than one person. I believe my response was something like 'I really do not believe that...we can send rockets into space, rovers to Mars...and you cannot just restore the previous package? Nope. Can't do it. So I finally got a 'supervisor' that relented and stated that 'no', the package can no longer be restored but they would do some switching and restore service to a 'similar' package with a price of $165 (previous package was $168 'ish. That $165 price existed for two billing cycles then POOF...it goes up to $170. Burned Twice.

I don't enjoy posting this, however if it happened to me, it could happen to you as well.
I was overcharged $25.00 to my credit card and was told it would go back to the original form of payment, my credit card. In reviewing my credit card statement, it was never credited.

Here is my conversation with Spectrum:
Me: "Why wasn't the credit applied to my credit card, like any other overage?"
Spectrum: "If we applied it to your credit card, we would have to make up for it and add it to your next bill."

Me: "Huh? Where is the logic in this? Since I was intentionally overcharged, it should refunded back to my credit card, so me the customer is made whole."
Spectrum: "Our system only allows to credit internally, not to an actual credit card."

Me: "So, let me see if I have this correct. Spectrum overcharged me $25.00 and won't refund me the money. And the only way I can get a refund to my credit card is to have another $25.00 added to my next bill?"
Spectrum: "That is correct."

Me: "Wow and not in a good way."

NOTHING BUT LIERS

I moved locations and I had 3 different people at spectrum tell me my internet would transfer. After moving to the new location, it turns out Spectrum lied to me and I would need construction to get internet. They told me it would cost an additional $2500. After speaking to management, I was told the fee would be waved because I was lied to. It turns out that was also a lie and spectrum was going to make me pay that anyways, because they have no say over their construction. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!

Prices/Payments

Spectrum prices are way to high, and several times they had an outage in my area, where I couldnt work. Yes I work from home. These people could care less about anybody as long as they get their money. Theres no reasoning with them, they simply could give a crap. Maybe I am in the wrong, but since they are expensive Im always just paying my past due in order not to be disconnected. And they feel since the money is due to them they could double dip on me. Yes they took the full payment from me, claiming the check didnt go thru probably to get the full money. Which is sickening. I went thru my bank to see if they are able to reverse the charges, because they feel maybe they didnt give it enough time to clear. Hopefully that will work out. I would considered another cable company
Since the person I was complaining to could care less what I was saying transfered me to a manager name Juan. I told him what was going on. And he actually came out and stated since I was past due they were obligated to the full amount. Which I thought was a crap. Again I would think twice about getting interent with Spectrum, they have serious customer service issues. I would recommend they put all there employees thru a customer service class because they need it bad. I have being doing customer service for 20+ years, and I have way better customer service then they do.
