The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to poor customer service and escalating costs. While some users acknowledge stable service performance at times, many express frustration with frequent outages, billing inconsistencies, and unresponsive support. Common complaints include difficulties in service cancellations, lack of transparency regarding equipment ownership, and inadequate resolution of issues. The sentiment is largely negative, with customers feeling undervalued and misled. This feedback indicates a pressing need for the company to improve its customer service practices and address billing transparency to enhance customer satisfaction.

I've bought 5 devices from spectrum 3 of which at the same time. Now, my problem is that they don't report none of these payments to any of the credit agencies. But if you become delinquent on payments they report to the credit agencies! Only! Mind you ur paying for these drives over a period of 12 to 36 months, YES 3 years! I just don't understand this! I've paid off all my devices and will not purchase another! Will be getting service from another that does report as of Monday!
My mother is 80 yrs old. She is homebound and all she has for entertainment and enjoyment is her TV and internet. She has had the unfortunate reason of needing the spectrum technician to help her with her internet not connecting a number of times and every time, she gets the run around saying they are on their way, they are right around the corner, they will be there in 2 minutes etc... when in reality, they finally show up 7 hours later! Every time! Very unacceptable!
Spectrum raised the cost of lifestyle plans again without any prior notice. I watch three or four TV channels, and the spectrum takes up a whopping $93 per month. Is there such a rip-off cost in the world? Never use the spectrum
The equipment they use is extremely low end, and causes a lot of connection difficulties. They also have issues with not scheduling maintenance properly, doing it when people are trying to work. I've had to boost my hotspot twice now due to Spectrum's bad decision making and inability to keep things running. We are switching to AT&T Fiber. We are done.
Signed up for my mom in her eighties after rep saying the 100m internet will be free with federal ACP program yet the bill wasn't showing what we were told. Called and talked to many spectrum departments who spoke all different terms than what I heard when signing up. Feel like lured into it with the ad mail and the rep who didn't represent their pricing. Will disconnect soon after hours of wasted time.
Half the time, you cannot get the "guide" to work. It simply says "guide not working, try mini-guide." This happens all the time. We recorded an old tv series, "Monk." When we tried to cancel the recording, it would not cancel. When we called Spectrum, they told us that if the series did not have any new episodes, we could not cancel it at this time. I'm serious. We literally could not cancel the recording of Monk and ended up with over 200 episodes recorded. I honestly don't know how they are can charge so much money and legally get away with the crappy service they have. You should be ashamed of yourself Spectrum. You suck.
When you canceled the TV service they still charge for the bill that you not even have the service for
What a WORTHLESS COMPANY. I have been with them for over 20 years because Spectrum is the only company that offers high speed internet in my area but I should have went ANYWHERE! Constant unannounced outages at the most convenient times like Saturday & Sunday EVENINGS! Customer support is non-existent if you can get one that speaks English! These people are nothing but THIVES so go ANYWHERE but here!
They lie to you more than once and then they have you in a situation that you cannot get out of unless you are rich.
I had a terrible experience with spectrum, they lied to me about having a free line with Internet and after I signed on, it was not free I still paying every month, worse company it tells you one thing to sign on and they are not faithful to their words, I will not recommend at all..
I called them to cancel. They offered me a cheaper plan and said it was good for a year. They raised rates after only 2 months. Said was area wide increase but I still had my promotion for the year. They play games. Promise to have no increase for a year then raise after 2 months.
The internet is good but everyday there is an outage at least once or twice a day and this is so annoying. I'm ready to change providers because this is a constant issue!
The spectrum TV app was charged so that you can't use the guide on Android phone. This is a problem for people with low vision. No one seems to care that a long time customer is having problems with their "improvement"!
The customer service is becoming outrageous. And this was before COVID so let's not go there. Call today with very simple questions every single person transferred me to someone else. Out of the five different people I spoke to from 9:15 a.m. this morning till 1:00 this afternoon, only one individual was professional and accommodating. Also, I was trying to apply for a disability accommodation. I was provided a link but no assistance at all. I ask if they could help and they basically state that they cannot be on the phone to assist. This is outrageous customer service as I'm already paying over $210 a month for their service times 15 years. You think one would be able to look at your account and see that you don't call or bother them and when you do call them they treat you like a POS. Having a disability this is not only outrageous but unacceptable. I only hope they catch the wrong person one day that decides to file a ADA or FCC compliance complain against them. I get it, they are a large company. However, they should train their employees to be polite friendly and if the customer is not polite and friendly then they disconnect the call. It works both ways. Not one time did anyone from spectrum tell me that they appreciated me being a customer for so many years. Even my mobile company tells me that when I call them about a billing situation. SHAME ON YOU SPECTRUM. I PRAY THAT YOU LEARN TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS BETTER AND PLEASE KNOW THAT THERE IS SEVERAL COMPANIES OUT THERE THAT COMPETE WITH YOU THAT OFFER MUCH BETTER PRODUCT LINE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. Lastly, you haven't changed your remotes and almost 15 years. This is 2023 and most companies now have voice control remotes with multiple apps such as Netflix, Hulu, etc, etc. I can't wait to say goodbye to SPECTRUM. I know I'm only one person in a million customers. However, if enough people get tired of their BS, they will finally get it when it hits them in the pocketbook! I'm seeing tons of activity on Facebook and other platforms talking about spectrum being too expensive and unaccommodating. I could not agree more. Again, shame on you spectrum!
These people don't deserve 1 star. Every few days service is interrupted. Sometimes for hours on end. This time had no TV in living room for 6 days waiting on repair man to show up. Finally showed up an hour pass window they set. Then got up this morning to no TV or internet. They say now it will be 4 days before they can come out. Turning it off why pay almost $200.00 a Month and go without 25% of time.
I work for a Dental Office, and this company is the most worst unbearable company to work with. The business techs are wonderful! Its always a huge run around, no one knows what they are doing. I can guarantee when more come around us we will be leaving along with alot of others!
This has got to be the most incompetent company ever! There's an annual outage pretty much every month! With the sky rocket prices they charge you would think over the span of years and complaints they would step their game up but NOOOO always an outage! I don't recommend them to ANYONE unless you want to be stuck paying hundreds of dollars for unreliable service!
I'm sorry but I can't even watch Netflix peacefully without being disturbed. Honestly, a waste of money and time. This happens repeatedly, the workers don't care enough, and "customer service" is just a fancy term for sorry the problem is on you! I'm very disappointed, for people purchasing internet, I would say Verizon.
Spectrum sucks $#*!! Even as Time Warner, they forced my neighbor after he was with them for 12 years to either quit or fire people.
They kept raising rates on the dollars at a time then they jumped out 20 bucks -I wouldn't go with Spectrum - I would pay somebody else more. They're trying to create a monopoly - never a company I'll go with ever again - Spectrum sucks
We have had spectrum for years. I'm the past three weeks I was lied to, told that they couldn't reduce my charges, days later told by another rep they could reduce them by about $100/month. All services were changed. Then about a week later randomly all my services were shut off and someone on their end marked us as deceased and shut off all of our services. Spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get this figured out, then found out when they set up the account again they set it up wrong. When I called back they wanted me to pay to fix their errors, gave me an absolute run around, finally retention dept was "able" to fix our services HOWEVER somehow the price went up $30/month and they couldn't explain that to me. On top of that during all of this we come to find out that they had been charging us for something we returned to them for over a year, and then someone on their end kept sending a never ending stream of equipment to my house that I had to spend even more Time on the phone with them getting charges removed for that. And scheduling a pickup for all their damn equipment get kept repeatedly sending me. They offered me a $23 credit to my account for charging me for 15 months worth of something I didn't have, and offered me ZERO compensation for spending 7+ hours on the phone with them in the last two weeks due to alllllllllll their errors.
Worst company ever. Do not recommend at all. Do EVERYTHING YOU CAN to avoid getting their services. It's a extremely overpriced nightmare.
Answer: They do not care about customer retention. That being said. I have to believe it is the poorest business model I have ever come in contact with.
Answer: They could give a shit - they create a monopoly in the area and do whatever they want - raise the rate, intimidate, and are very rude and no help to customers!
Answer: You're smart to stay with FIOS. Spectrum is the worst cable company around. They're very expensive and your bill will start creeping up every other month without any explanation. Avoid Spectrum!
