I was charged for a seat I didn't choose was told on two separate occasions to contact "someone " through an email for my refund and given two different emails and they were both fake emails. This fake company stole $50.00 of my money

Don't ever book your flight with them. It is a horrible experience. I refused to reschedule my flight with them since they charge me a few thousand dollars for that but the airline company only charges 500. Then they just canceled my return trip! How the hell on the earth would people do such a terrible thing! I called the airline company they said they can do nothing because i booked it with the agent company. Take my bad experience as an example. Dont waste your money with them!

Scam fraud

Wow don't even know how to started this company is an scammer they stole more than 800 they cancel my parents flight just to start when we book this flight we never received a confirmation number i been calling them and their staff hang up on me they are rude and are taking advantage of people why this company has not get shut down who can help me report them o what number do i need to call this is not nice and they are abusing of people and scamming and sadly they will continue to do with people in desperate situations they are such an abusived company or scammers please don't book here you will go through the my same situation and its very disappointed

They canceled my flight and wanted me to pay more, i already paid before for changing the flight date from February until June.
Now they want me to choose another date and pay for the flight and when I asked for refund or a credit they told me they can do credit, each time I ask how much my credit would be they hang the line on me and they stay online for a while.
They want to take money and charge money for nothing.
I booked my wife's ticket with different agent and they paid a full refund to her ticket plus when we changed her ticket they waved the penalty on the ticket but smartfare did wave a penny.
And now it to hard to get my money back before June 9th.
IF THERE LESS THAN ONE STAR I WAS GOING TO PUT -5 I REALLY FEEL IT IS A FRUAD AND RIPPING OFF PEOPLE.

I have booked with smartfares more than once to St Vincent round trip, once through Barbados twice through Trinidad and did not have a problem. Customer service was great base on my experience it a good company.

No functioning support (calls will be put on hold indefinitely, emails won't be answered for weeks). Seems highly fraudulent and you will end up spending more money than planned, AVOID!

Smartfares are charging your credit card without publishing an E ticket... AVOID this company at this time. Fraudulent practices and deceptive "advice"... what they say one thing BUT ARE NOT DELIVERING... but taking your cash with no AIRLINE RESERVATION... out in out FRAUD... AVOID BUY FROM THE AIRLINE DIRECT. Avoid the heartache of "illegal" actions by this company... SCAMMED MANY MANY Donr be a VICTIM...

DO not use Smartfares! They will offer a deeply discounted airfare and send you a confirmation number to your email. The next day you will receive an email to call them immediately because they were unable to confirm your flight. When you call them back, they will try to sell you another flight at a much higher price. In my case, I missed out on a really good fare from another airline because of this scam! DO NOT USE!

If you are going to buy tickets through this company, be very careful because they are scam, my niece bought tickets to fly from PR to Orlando on April 2 and she called to cancel the flight and change the return one and she never found a number confirmation ticket at the airline and when they were called, they hung us up and the last one who answered gave us a false code and to this day they do not call, nor do they send a reservation code, nor do they return the money

Our flight got cancelled due to COVID-19 and I did not even receive and email or call from this agency had I not been following up wit the airline. When I called to get a travel credit or to rebook they charged an extra $210 when the airline states they would be waiving all fees for flight booked before March 31st.
Everytime I call I get different people and different information with different costs. One agent can waive a fee another agent can not. I called so much I got frustrated they stopped taking my calls and if I get through they hang up. They have no customer service training and offer no empathy to customers. I subsequently ended up calling the airline who told me I did not have to rebook with them as the ticket is valid for travel at anytime without paying a fee. So the $210 they wanted was for themself. Also when I checked my credit card statement this agency is not in California they are in INDIA and I'm not gonna say much further about fraud in India. Be ware!

Flight was canceled due to Convid 19 and because it is a international flight. I cannot anyone to just refund my $#*!ing money. I have spoken with 4 different people and still my issue hasn't been resolved. I ended up having to contact my bank. Save yourself the headache because it isn't worth the saved money..

Booked a trip to Italy in October 2019. Purchased travel insurance. Coronavirus unexpectedly hit the world... Delta cancelled all flights to Italy... several calls to smartfares and they are not helpful nor empathetic to what many are facing. I didn't purchase tickets to cancel but rather enjoy an extraordinary anniversary with my husband and brother and sister in law. They need to do the right thing. Anywhere else if you don't get the product or service, you are refunded. The airlines will surely be bailed out if necessary! Never again!

"How much are you willing to pay?" This is what our SmartFare agent (Nixon) asked us when we called, stranded at the Perth airport after Air New Zealand informed us our flight home to Canada had been cancelled. My answer...$5000 CAD each. So when quoted $4740 each, we said yes, economy seated together. The final price became $13,885 CAD, economy seated apart. We felt desperate, took the seats, got home.
We feel we have been lied to, robbed, and taken advantage of in our desperate situation to get home.

UPDATE TO REVIEW...
After writing this review on SmartFare, San Diego, California, I submitted a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They were super helpful and effective. They submitted my complaint to SmartFares, and I got a phone call from SmartFares the next day. They granted my request to reimburse the over charged fees based on my price-gouging complaint. I agreed to their terms requested of me: to remove my complaint with the BBB. I did so, and my extra charges were reimbursed.
I did not request some of the high fees charged for our initial tickets; I thought that, in light of the over-charging by ALL the airlines because of the number of people trying to fly home, it was worth the high inflated rate to get home. Also, I thought if I limited my complaint request to the last inflated fee, it would be more likely to get a settlement. I was correct. Good luck with your complaints to the Better Business Bureau.

Horrible! Talked to 3 agents all different answers. One hung up on me. I tried to get a refund due to cancellations because of COVID-19 and they were making that difficult. They kept blaming the Airline, when on the website it states that they are issuing refunds. One agent said I could get a refund of $220 out off of a $566.17 ticket. Last guy I spoke with gave $399, I decided to settle with that amount because I ran out of energy. 0 stars if possible but definitely would not recommend, this business needs to be shut down.

Because of the coronavirus, this company takes advantage of people. I lost $1,000.00 with them. I wish someone would investigate and shut them down.

Smartfares review

I purchased tickets from smartfares because it was about $75.00 cheaper per tickets. With the Coronavirus issue we decided to rebook our reservations into late fall. The airlines we were using decided to cancel their re-booking penalty for every destination they serviced, which is fair. However, smartfares charged be $250.00 for the same flights 8 months later. I am a former travel agent, so I looked at the calculations of the fare ladder. Long story short, the ticket was $2.00 more than the original ticket. Smartfares makes up their own service fees. I believe each agent works on commission as my first quote was $367.00 additional per ticket and the agent went as far as to email me his contact information so I dealt with him. If you make no changes, and bottom line price is your goal, then fine, smartfares will be ok. However, if you need them to make a change, beware they will charge you way more than what you should pay. They rip you off!
