I bought an expensive sleep number
Bed last year and six weeks ago I woke to a flat (airless) bed. I called sleep number customer support and asked them to fix it. They wanted me to perform a test where the pump is disconnected from the bed and the supply is capped. The connection for the pump line to the bed is so tight, I couldn't do this. A week later they sent two fellows out who were able to cap the bed. The next day, the bed was flat. It has been flat for over six and 1/2 weeks now. So eventually sleep number customer support ordered new parts and told me the repair would be made wednesday. So today is wednesday and no one has arrived. Called customer support and they said the team would get here between 11AM and 2PM... this was the 'official' window of time the repair people were supposed to arrive. Then I was told that the repair people would not come today, they were coming next Tuesday. I have known for months I have plans to travel Friday, for 2 1/2 weeks so why would they schedule the repairs for Tuesday when I'm out of town? So we (Tiera and I) to reschedule but the installers were 'in a meeting'. So she offered to schedule for Tuesday, 2 1/2 weeks from now. I asked "what about Monday"? She said "we do not have Mondays'. I asked to speak to her supervisor.

So I waited 45 minutes for Tiera's supervisor. Nada, emptiness - nothing. So I called back again.

Worst bed ever
February 25, 2021

My husband and I purchased a sleep number back in August, worst mistake. Our necks and back hurt for 3 months. We called and told their customer service, they sent us a pillow topper, that did not help. We finally asked them to take the bed back. They charge a $250 return fee. I should send them my doctor bills for my neck and back after sleeping on this bed. I ordered a nectar and am sleeping much better. Save your money!

Terrible. $8,000 for a flex fit bed and we have a 7" gap between our head that your pillow falls through at night. We've dealt with it for years. Couldn't allow our kids to sleep in bed with us for fear they'd fall into it and suffocate when they were little. I finally have had it and refuse to sleep with a body pillow between my husband and I every night to attempt to fill the gap. They supposedly compensate for upgrades but the mattress we want to replace it with is a model down and on sale so they won't compensate in any way. $3,600 more to replace a mattress that should be perfect still 5 years out! So, their warranty only covers individual parts-then replace each part of the mattress until it is fixed, I don't care! I've been told by 2 salesmen that it's been redesigned due to the flaw and clearly the newer model is better. I would never buy from them again. Now I'm stuck with a very expensive base and will have to go buy a new mattress elsewhere I guess. How can they be in business if they don't stand by their product?

Biggest Regret
February 10, 2021

The worst purchase we've ever made. The $8k spent is not the issue. The issue is that the bed is uncomfortable, wakes you up when it does the air adjustment thing and has taken up a large amount of time for us to be on the phone with customer service just to figure out all things wrong with the best.
Learn from our mistake and DO NOT PURCHASE A SLEEP NUMBER BED

I bought 6 mattresses from this company (5 king & 1 queen mattress all at once) and it was the biggest mistake I ever did. The company does not stand behind its super-overpriced product and flat out lies to customers on the phone when someone requests service. I had this done to me multiple times, for different issues. A couple of days ago, I spent 3 1/2 hours on the phone with them, trying to figure out another problem which at the time could not be resoled unless they sent a technician over. And yet again, they wanted to charge me for the service call. To add to this, the technicians that eventually came failed do the job properly. There is no specific protocol to be followed by them, no paperwork given to me on the service, and no paper-trace for me to call and complain... how convenient... right? This company sucks! They have the worse service. They have come to my house 4 times so far and each time they fail to rise to the occasion and prove me wrong when I say that they really suck! Don't buy the Sleep Number mattresses. I am sure there are alternative choices out there, more economical, sold by companies that stand behind their product. Sleep Number certainly does not stand behind its products. They should be ashame of the way the treat their customers. They are an absolute disgrace!

We purchased a Sleep Number mattress on Sept. 24,2019 and the pump has already failed in our unit. The company wants the purchaser to perform all diagnostics or else pay a $99 fee for a technician to come into your home to analyze the issue. Then, upon resolution of the cause, Sleep Number sends you replacement parts for you to replace yourself.
When the bed functions properly, it is very comfortable, however, they have poorly designed the couplings that can become disconnected if you move your top mattress for any reason, while tucking sheets under it. The pump is cheaply constructed. If you search online, notice how Sleep Number attempts to deceive people into believing they are on an independent website; they have a number of sites, especially their primary website that provides them with a 4.7 rating. Too bad other websites don't support their own results. They are a slick organization that invests, heavily, in promotional advertising telling the world how wonderful their products are. We are selling our Sleep Bed asap, and will purchase a superior product made from organic materials and no EMF producing transmitter under the bed, which sends information to them that we never connected in the first place.
They have nice showrooms and sharp salespeople but the products are garbage. Shop elsewhere.

Ordered my 6000. 00 sleep number bed in October. Was told will be delivered in med November They didnt order all the right stuff so they had to reschedule to mid December. Then called to reschedule again to late January. I will have waited 4 months for this bed. I cancelled my order and placed an order with ISENCE, they are basically the same thing but a little cheaper and ill get this in 1 week.

I have an $8,000.00 bed that I hate. What a pile of crap its just an air mattress with a foam top. I have the full split and the gap is growing every night. I would never buy anything from this company again. They don't cover anything or back up their product. Don't spend a dime with this company go to a mattress store with options.

Most importantly this bed is very uncomfortable. It is a giant air mattress that is expensive. I can feel every movement of my husband and move up and down like we are on an air mattress.
Second, this is an advertising scam with poor customer service. They advertise 100 day full return but will not let you return the base. Nothing stated that was non refundable until my receipt was send to me after having to ask a supervisor to send it to me. They don't send receipts just order summaries. We had to go through the BBB to get this taken care of.

We had to call multiple times about our appointment. I ended up having to take time off of work to get the mattress delivered because they messed up the time. They never took our old mattress away like they were supposed too. Then when you call about this all they do is say it wasn't in the notes. That isn't my problem. They refused to try and help in any way so we're in the process of returning our mattress. As you can imagine the customer service to return something is not any better. So disappointed we were really looking forward to having a nice mattress but the customer service alone is worth returning it.

Sleeping on the couch
November 19, 2020

We purchased a sleepnumber bed about 18 months ago. Maybe a month ago I noticed my side of the bed was not holding air. Went through the troubleshooting recommended on the website without a resolution. Did a chat with a sleepnumber rep. $100 and 12 days to fix a leaking air chamber. In the mean time, I do not have a bed. You do not consider when you buy one of these things that it may "break" and leave you bedless for a month. I tried to repeat my dissatisfaction on the constant marketing posts that were thrown on my social media feeds after I visited the website. They called my attempts to get better service on a useless bed I paid $7200 for last year "spam" and blocked me. Don't fall for the gimmick, once you've purchased, they've got you trapped.

FREE TRIAL IS A SCAM!
November 3, 2020

So the basic story is that I went to Sleep Number to get some good sleep and when it was all said and done, they didn't refund my money and I still owe them money even though I returned the bed in the FREE TRIAL PERIOD. Before I got the bed, I was assured that everything would be refunded. I don't have money to be giving away. I wanted to invest in a nice bed but all I got was a nice ride to the SCAMVILLE. Never in my life, I was lied to soooo bad. I understand that the salesman and sleep number are there to make money but they shouldn't have to lie, cheat, and steal to get it. I don't appreciate it and my sore back doesn't either.

Customer support
October 10, 2020

Have been on the phone for over 3 hours between store and customer support. First customer support could not find me in the system. Finally once I got someone else, I told them my issue, they said hold on and I will fill out an order, they said they should take care of it. NEVER came back to the phone. So I went online to chat, they wanted to charge me for my issue on foam cracking. So I kept calling for a supervisor, on hold again going on almost 4 hours to talk. Finally hung up, no communication. I will not ever tell anyone to purchase a sleep number bed.

I used to recommend sleep number until I had to get a warranty claim and found out how absolutely terrible their customer service is.

They screwed up the order. I ordered through the chat window because when you call in it say the lines are all full, But after they screwed up the order they said the only way to correct it is by calling. 2 months later I reported them to my credit card company and dispute the charges.

Their warranty is useless! Later I saw on Facebook there are a staggering number of complaints against them.

I ordered my bed August 2,2020, i was so excited, saved up for over a year to get this. Delivery was for august 22. Got a call 11am august 22 saying they werent coming, my bed didnt show up on the truck. They gave me a $200 credit for inconvenience. I had already gotten rid of my bed per their "get space ready for delivery instructions ". Now sleepi g on a very used borrowed 6" twin mattress on the floor. Next day of delivery is sept 4. Got a call from the delivery guy. Said i would be there within the hour as he was early, "no problem, i will wait right here a d not leave" he said. I left work 3 hours early and i got home to find nobody waiting. I called and he left to help someone and hopefully he would make it back. "Are you serious, i just left work and am missing overtime pay to be here and you arent here! This is total crap!" He then called in and said he was uncomfortable coming to my house for saying the situation was a bunch of s**t. Got another date for delivery which was sept 14, nope that was a lie. Now its october 2. Ive had enough of getting jerked around. Cancelled my order and got refund on the bed. Now fighting to get my refund on the sheet set i sent back. The customer service is absolutely terrible, stay on hold for so long just to get transferred to another person you have to explain everything to again. Will never purchase a sleep number based solely on customer service.

Bad return policy
September 28, 2020

As we were told we could return the bead within 109 days if not happy, we were not told they would charge us for the first delivery and the pick up charges, which came up to about $500. The bed was so uncomfortable and was not what we expected. Still arguing with the credit card about such pathetic charges. Make sure you ask all the terms for the return.

SLEEP NUMBER IS A SCAM
September 8, 2020

Worst Scam Ever
The sales people blatantly lie to your face. I asked sales associate Desiree if the bed was fullly refundable, and she stated with a smile no less, yes it is, except for a 199$ service fee. I agreed to the service fee believing I could get a refund of my $7500. Come to find out when I tried to return, they are stating they will not refund the flex base. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM SLEEP NUMBER. THE SALES STAFF BLATANTLY LIE TO YOU!

It's Just a Gimmick
August 26, 2020

Sleep Number beds are simply a gimmick wrapped up in some very sophisticated marketing and dishonest salesmanship. Do not make the same mistake as I did. This was the worst retail experience of my life. Do your research about this bed and this company. Caveat Emptor! The stores are designed like a third rate Apple Store wanna be. They sell only their products in a polished and sterilized fashion, hiding the small print at every turn. First, in the store all the mechanics of the bed are well hidden inside the platforms. Once my bed was delivered and I saw all the lines and hoses that are required I was horrified. The pump is the size of a shoe box with lights flashing on it that don't turn off. And good luck cleaning under the bed with all the wild entanglement of wires, hoses and contraptions. Further Sleep Number charges an additional $39 dollars for the remote control. Think how you would feel after spending $1,500 on a television set but were forced to shell out an additional sum for the standard remote. This extra cost encourages you to use their app. But you need to know: by using the app Sleep Number is data harvesting everything that takes place on your bed. Yes I mean everything! How creepy is that. Sleeping and intimacy are not competitive sports. The bed has a definite dip between the two sides that you feel in its full intensity when you sit in the middle at the foot of the bed. You nearly sink to the base. When it quickly dawned on me what a mistake I made purchasing this bed I entered the second phase of my hellish experience with Sleep Number: their Customer Support. When I called to begin the return process I was put on hold for an hour and forty minutes. That call only ended when I hung up. When I finally do get through to someone is when I found out that they don't offer a free 100 day trial period as advertised. You are charged an additional $199 plus tax to have the bed picked up. No one ever informed me of this. When queried I was told it was in the small print. Luckily I did not also buy the base. The base is nonreturnable, period. In the end I was out one third of the total cost of the bed in shipping charges alone. The Sleep Number bed is mediocre by the most generous description. The only possible people that I can imagine would put up with this joke of a bed is a couple who have such different firmness needs that they would make this compromise. Sleep Number is a lousy, deceptive company that sells a lousy, deceptive bed. Don't get bamboozled like I did. There are hundreds of bed manufacturers in the country, why buy one from a company that makes a second rate product and that is so ethically challenged their founder is spending the rest of his life in a Federal Penitentiary?

No stars for Sleep Number. The company has the worst service for an overpriced air mattress that breaks down. The company forces you to forward pictures to a central e-mail with a reps name who never calls you back top address your problem. Their crew installed or bed and its was non-functional on day one. They refused to come back and repair. There are no excuses for this fraud of a company.
