Trying to reach someone that you can actually speak with is difficult. I called sales and then was transferred to a customer service rep. It is unfortunate that I had to diagnose the problem, which I had to have my son accomplish as I had hip surgery 10 days previously. The issue "deflation" on one side while I was sleeping on it. Just a "bit" difficult getting out of the bed in the middle of the night.
The rep talked us through the "self diagnostics". With the cost of the bed why am I doing the diagnostics. The problem is in the air pump. A service tech will be here on Nov 17 2021. We will see what happens.
I did call the store and I left a message and I did send a text at 0333 hours. In the text I did ask for a phone call. They did not call me. I sent a text again later in the day and requested a phone call. I received a text back. It was clear that I was not going to get a phone call. What I learned from the text messages was that the local store was "passing the buck". This is not good customer service. Unfortunately I did not do better research before I purchased the bed. "My Bad". Had I known what I do now about the lack of customer service I would not have purchased the bed.
The bed itself, so far, is what I expected. I love the adjustability which we can do at anytime to fit the needs of the day. I like the information that is provided by the app that shows how well or not that I am sleeping. I am not sure about accuracy of the information though. I wonder about it. I believe that the cost of the bed has a lot to do with that technology,
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE DEAL BREAKER FOR SURE.
Thanks for reading!
I manage a tech support team of engineers and would never ever allows my employees to treat customers the way sleep number treats me! They sold me thousands of dollars for feet warmers that they disabled (CYB) due to a recall. Never once tried to make it right. Tried to charge me hundreds of dollars despite the recall. They all treat you like you don't matter. Seriously the worst customer service ever I could go on and on.
As a stockholder and long time SleepNumber bed owner, I have always found the product quite good.
As a company dealing with the public, the Minnesota firm is horrible. Impossible to reach customer service,
Stores filled with junked-up, "bait and switch" gimmicks, and an intrusive policy for dealing with personal information (which they then sell at a premium to other vendors). Salespeople in their stores are quick to say the company has many problems, and will not listen to employees. Thus, this review.
The person in charge of marketing should be arrested. The person in charge of customer service should be shot.
My recently purchased 360 Smarbed is, surprisingly, still quite well made. The company, alas, is a train wreck.
The adverstisements look great and the customers on tv and celebrities on the radio make you think this bed will solve your sleep problems. This is the worst bed I have ever used. It was also the most expensive. The bed is not infinitely adjustable. It adjust in increments of 5 so if you want a 52, you have to go with 50 or 55. Now that seems petty, but when 50 is too soft and 55 is too firm, what are your options? I wake up at least 3-4 times a night in this bed. I shift from side to side and cannot stay comfortable in one spot even when I am on my back. If I get 3 solid hours of sleep I consider it a win. The bed does not constantly adjust to your body. It adjusts when I get in it and that is it for the night. No matter how I toss and turn, it stays the same. The trench effect that you may read about on other sites is real. You can get lost in the middle of the mattress and have to climb out to one side or the other. We thought this would be a mattress that we would enjoy, but it is a very overpriced nightmare and a waste of money. When you see the advertisement for mattresses under $1000, do not believe it. After you buy the mattress, frame, and their mattress cover (they will not warranty your mattress without their overpriced cover), it is easy to be over $3000 for a bed. Open your wallet and watch the money fly out. For that same price, you could buy a really nice mattress that will not let you down.
I ordered 4 mattress from Sleep Number and I have to return because of the horrible delivery and customer services. The delivery suppose to contact me 30 min prior but called me when they arrive. I told them I will be there in 10min, but they just left when I arrive there within 5 min but they left already. I call their customer service and they refuse to return only few min away. I feel like if I have all these trouble for a simple delivery, I would experience even more issue in the future if there is issue with my mattresses. So I cancelled my entire order. I hope this help if people is considering Sleep Number Mattress.
Buying a $*******. 00 expecting not to be broken and a wonderful sleeping experience. Not true. The worst bed I have ever had as well as, the worst customer service. Cheap people that can't afford to take care of the customers. Especially the ones that guarantee 25 year warranty. The whole side of the bed sunk in. Been trying to get a hold of them for now 3 weeks and no one cares.
If they can't take care of the customers they should not be selling those beds. They should close.
Whoever is the CEO of that business is, I am sorry to say an idiot. Lost 3 more beds of purchase. Terrible terrible overall experience. DONT buy. Terrible bed
Read the fine print - they say you have a 100 night trial - if you are unhappy with the bed you can return it - but that isn't true - you are unable to return the base - the whole bed is cheap and is not worth 6500. 00 to 7000. 00 - the salesperson lied and customer service sucks as well - don't BUY you will regret it - read the fine print!
The day my new bed was delivered the bed went flat. They took our old bed away. Now iam sleeping on a mattress topper. They just keep telling you that they will send someone to check it out. But that never happens. Its the most I have ever for a mattress in my life. Iam a senior with a bad back. It's ashame how they rip off people.
Just like the story there are lumps that make the bed very uncomfortable. Spoke to cs several times there is no way to fix it.
Besides this the edges of the bed and middle of the bed is made some sort of wall that does not move with the air mattress making these area unusable. You cannot sleep in the middle of the bed without feeling like there is a high spot under you. Same for the edges. This removes about 18 inches from the bed side to side. I hope you are a toothpick.
They say there is a 100 day trial period. What they fail to say is that is for the mattress not the base. So you can return the mattress but you are stuck paying for the frame. It does not matter because the base is universal, right? At least that is what they say. Nope, another manufacture said it would void the warranty.
The bed will deflate over time. I found the mattress nearly empty without anything telling me it was deflated. If it is set on 65 and it is really at 5 it should let you know.
The controller has to be rebooted over and over or the remote loses connection. The be does develop a low spot. The cover over the air mattresses will move deforming the bed.
Do not purchase a sleep number bed! It is the worst purchase I have ever made.
Horrible customer service. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! Its an overpriced, glorified, air mattress... with failure points... then when it fails, they want to phone troubleshoot rather than actually fix the issue. If there was a negative satisfaction number I would give them a -5. RUN from this procuct and support that it is tied to.
I am very happy with my Sleep Number mattress, but the customer service with this company leaves a lot to be desired. They are all smiles, just like a used card salesperson, but when you need help good luck! They do not want to help their customers after the sale so be prepared for this and willing to fight them. I have contacted the attorney general's office and the better business bureau to remedy my problem. I am not really sure of recommending them. Any good will from the product has been washed down the toilet.
First let me explain their lies:
Its a 60 day return policy AFTER 30 days. You cant return prior.
IF they sell you a broken bed, you have to PAY THEM 200 dollars to take it back.
If you attempt a return they will talk your ear off day and night trying to get you to recant and they offer 'services' to try to get you past your 90 days with trials.
Worst company, worst product.
The reviews contained on this website are the correct ones, NOT sleepnumbers.
They won't even let you rate it for less then one star or I would! My husband could not sleep he tossed and turned all night! I called the sleep help line the experts agreed to send us mattresses toppers for free! What a joke spending so much on a bed for them to say this 2 inch topper will help! We sent the bed back and are stuck with a base and no bed because of course the catch is you can't return the base or any of the bedding. DO NOT DO IT!
We bought 2 beds a few years back; the I8 and the C2 for our son. The base of the I8 warped and they replaced it without charge. My son's bed got a crack in the plastic where the hose connects into the chamber. This is not from rough housing but cheap manufacturing. I was told that the warranty is on a sliding scale after 2 years and it was going to be $88. The rep was an absolute jerk. He asked how on earth would both beds be leaking. He actually started singing and humming to a melody that he made up. I couldn't make this up if I tried. I was pretty annoyed and then he told me that I signed paperwork that clearly stated this. I told him he sounded like a used car salesman and to stop all the singing and chitter chatter and take my credit card and I would never buy another bed from Sleep Number again and would leave a nasty review. You know that &$#@ brought up the paperwork again? I am still problem solving the I8 before I give them another red penny. This company is a joke and needs to do a better job of hiring customer service reps. Buyer beware and if you call customer service and get a singing rep tell him to suck it
After nearly four years of peaceful sleep, I awoke to lying in the Marianna Trench. My mattress was apparently exhausted in more ways than one, one also being my new sleep number. It took two weeks for what I thought would be a repair team to come to the house. Nope. For $99 (not covered under warranty), they just diagnose the problem. Except they didn't, explaining it could be one of several problems and I was to call the next day with the results of the experiment they left me to do.
After being passed through three customer service representatives I was informed I needed a new air chamber (68% covered by warranty; credit card please) plus, yes, that will be another $99 service call. The repair part is shipped to your house. Then you get to wait, again, for a service team to arrive to install it.
As for repair service, my first call was disconnected. My second call I was informed you do not find out until two days before the service exactly what time they will arrive. So if you schedule your life more than two days in advance, be prepared to take the entire day off. In my case, they called at 7AM the day of the appointment to reschedule the arrival time. I will say that all their service representatives were very polite.
If you are considering a Sleep Number mattress, here is my advice. Understand the 15-year warranty depreciates faster than a new car and the service call is not included. If and when the bed breaks, bring your patience, your checkbook, and acquire a spare mattress to sleep on for a month.
We bought a split top king sized sleep number bed 2y 3 m ago. Paid $10K for it, but justified the price because husband has back problems and it had a 25 year warranty. It did not help the back problems. It is a glorified air mattress that requires special (expensive) sheets. Didn't like it from the beginning. After contacting Sleep Number within the "try it for 100 nights" campaign found out that the "try it for 100 nights" is only to change the base, not return the whole bed. Now, 3 months past the 100% warranty (which lasts 2 years) we got a message that the foot warmer has a problem and we should call customer service. They want to replace it for $249 (they said that is 32% of the cost which is what the warranty now covers) plus a $99 technician fee. I told them to cancel the order. What happened to the "25 year warranty"? It makes me nauseous that we haven't even finished paying for this bed (we used their financing after making a sizeable down payment) and we are already stuck with breaking parts. We will probably end up getting rid of it, taking thousands of dollars in a loss. So frustrating!
We recently moved and one side of our sleep number went flat. We called customer service on Monday and after troubleshooting and paying over $100 for parts replacement they determined we needed a new pump. They said they would expedite and it would be here on Wednesday. It is now Friday and I just got off the phone with customer service and they said the pump is on back order for weeks! I'm sleeping on the floor. It would have been nice if they had told me that on Monday. Was not offered a refund or even new sheets or anything. Will never buy Sleep Number again. Poor customer service.
Only reason I gave three stars is because the product is good. Our bed was scheduled for delivery on April 16,2021. The delivery was made an hour late by two men who could not properly communicate in English and who did not represent Sleep Number in a positive light. In addition to the mattress, we had bought the Flex Fit Adjustable Frame. The store salesperson told us the legs on the frame were adjustable from 6" to 11" but the delivery people insisted they were not adjustable. They left the mattress and frame in our garage and said they would come back another time. I called Customer Service, who explained how the legs were adjustable, and together we decided that a longer leg would work better and arranged with them to send us the 16" to 19" legs. I asked Customer Service not to allow the original delivery men to deliver to us again. The same men showed up on April 21st to install the bed. They argued with us about how the frame would fit and were generally disagreeable. Luckily, this bed should last us the rest of our lives because I would never go through again what we experienced with the Sleep Number delivery.
I have called numerous times to get the zippered top replaced and each time I get a different quote on how much it would cost. I finally gave up and I will buy a decent bed from a different, more reliable company.
If I could get a no star I would rate it
My experience with this company I thought it was good until after 60 days using the $4500 mattress that I was told by the salesman that I would not regret the purchase, well here I am, I honestly think they're product it is NOT worth $4500, So I called the 800 number to inform that I wasn't happy with it and to come back at to pick it up, we'll the representative stated that I was going to get only $1,800, $200 they were going to deduct it for restocking fee, I asked about the platform, he simply stated that it was not cover for return, that in the fine print states that that base the sale was final, so, I'm stuck with a piece of@/:^%# and $2,500 in the hole, all they representative said was " I'm sorry", (you got stiffed) frustrating that they NEVER, EVER MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT THAT WHEN I MADE THE PURCHASE, my advice, STAY AWAY FROM SLEEP NUMBER (POS), a $50 Walmart air mattress selling for $4,500. Priceless.
Answer: For sleep number mattresses...YOU pay for return shipping even though it doesn't cost $249 to ship it back they're going to make money off of it
