I had signed up for skillshare for the free 2 month trial. I have enjoyed my time there but however, I was charged 99 dollars that I don't have immediately after the trial ended. I know this happens but why isn't there a reminder like netflix? I had cancelled my premium membership but it seems that I am still being charged a full year. I am just a teen from Malaysia only signing up for the trial to try skillshare but now, I am 99 dollars short which is equivalent to 400+ in my country. Needless to say I don't have that much money. I have contacted skillshare's email before. 4 times. And was replied with the "our team will get back to you as soon as possible" it could be true but I have checked, I waited for a full 12 hours (from 9 am in New York) till 9 pm but I have received no reply from anyone from their team. I have never felt so cheated and I asked for a refund in all the emails.
I've been billed by them $20 a month for months after I cancelled. They won't let me into my account and will not send instructions on how to change my password. There is no customer phone line to use. Stay as far away as you can from this website.

Everything you read about Skillshare and how it has deceived a lot of people are true. Experienced it first hand and boy, i am now full of regrets I continued signing up on this site. The mere fact that I already cancelled my free trial before it ended, Skillshare still charged me for a full annual membership fee! I sent tons of email and tried to contact them to whatever platform I could find my I got no response at all. I recommend you try udemy, its cheaper, better customer service or just go to youtube, its free.

I received an unexpected charge of $99 DESPITE cancelling my account before the trial period was up. I haven't even used skillshare in months. I have emailed their support team, but after reading these reviews i'm getting more and more disheartened. I cannot afford an unexpected and unauthorized payment of $99. Why is this happening to SO many people? Skillshare can you get on top of this please? Your platform is great, but this billing situation is horrifiic.
Hi Angie — I'm sorry to hear you had this experience! If you haven't heard back from our support team yet, please send us a private message with your email address so that we can make sure we get back to you. We should be able to help out!
Hi. I have been reading all these reviews and it is sad how people do things. Now they tell you that once your trail is up your will be charge. How simple is that. I did a free special on something and I called the people and cancel to and did not get charge. Skill Share is a very nice place to learn. I bet that the ones that are given bad reviews they are with another company. I had that done one time with a company I was with. Do not lie just to get someone to come over to your site that is bad business
Hi Mascheria — Thank you for your review! We’re so glad to hear that you’ve enjoyed learning on Skillshare and that you had a positive experience with our team.
I watch quite a bit of YouTube, and lately many of my favorite YouTubers have been sponsored by the company. I was hoping to try SkillShare, as I thought it might be like an extension of the content I get for free online. I'm always suspicious when a "free trial" asks for card info upfront. I know how it goes, they're hoping I forget that I signed up, then they can take my money and it's technically my fault. So, I decided to search around. The second red flag I found was that all creators talking about the product had oddly similarly-worded videos or articles. Even content claiming to be a "fair, non-sponsored review" fell into this similar format, and any "negatives" seemed to blame the customer for "not being enough of a hard worker to be successful". I couldn't find one review from journalists or video creators that seemed genuine, and that scares me. The sign-up process seems sketchy and dishonest. In my opinion, this site doesn't seem to have faith that people will like their product, so they resort to stealing money while keeping themselves safe at the same time. I would take my business somewhere else..

Don't take the free offer. Courses are basic and it is difficult to communicate and cancel. My account has just been debited for a chunk of $ with no use from this site. Cannot find any means to contact this company to discuss and cancel. Please don't make the same mistake I have - keep clear of Skillshare! Feeling ripped off and scammed!
Hi Ian — We're so sorry to hear about your trouble contacting Skillshare. We'd like to look into this charge for you and help out. Please write to our support team at [email protected] so that we can take a look. We should be able to get this resolved soon!
I, like many who have also reviewed, signed up with a free-trial. This morning I was charged $99.00 USD without any warning. I never used any classes on this site during my trial and after signing up I don't even think I logged in until today after I checked my bank account. I sent an email immediately after I saw the transaction (because there is no phone number to call...) and still almost 12 hours later, have not heard anything. I am completely disgusted with this so-called "business". I am still in school and trying to save for a trip to Italy and $100 that could go into my savings, are now in the pockets of thieves. From what I've read, I'm not getting that money back... When you see multiple people have complained about this, wouldn't you look into changing your policy? I cannot believe someone would run a company this terribly. I hope you can look into this and make sure it doesn't happen again. I am sick over this.
Hi Zoe — I'm sorry your issue wasn't resolved more quickly when you wrote to our team at Skillshare! I hope that everything has been worked out now. If you still need help with this issue, please write to us at [email protected]. We'd be happy to look into the charge for you.
I signed up for a 2-month free trial and probably used it for 2 days before I realized I could find the same kind of content on YouTube. I was charged $100 2 days ago. I read through multiple websites and it seems they do not give out refunds. With my $100 I don't even get the pro features. Bs. I'm a full time student with no time for a job, so this was a HUGE hit for me. My money was wasted on this stupid website- enjoy my food money skillshare!
Hi Leslie — I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Skillshare. If you haven't already, please write to us at [email protected] so that we can look into this charge and help out.
I, as well as many others, have the same problem, after two months of free trial I was billed 99$ without notice. Funny thing is to be a Pro you pay only 15 a month. Now I am a proud member as they took 100$ from me which is a lot and I am not even Pro. Not sure why they taxed me that much, to just surf the basic tutorials alike a free trial member? Cancel your account now! It will save you serious headaches as their customer services is pure bs. They don't even have a phone number. Just a bs form to complain and request "help" for your issues. Never again am I gonna start a free trial with my "money card" nowhere because of this awful experience. SKILLSHARE ENJOY YOUR 100$. I am better of with youtube and I am dead serious!

I signed up through YesTheory free giveaway for 2 months membership!
Then i got charged for 99 USD! I can not afford that! That's a lot of money for me!
They will not refund! Wont answer emails! I havent got any warning about my subscripton!
Their mails go to SPAM!
I can go on forever!
Horrible company policy! Doesnt matter what they teach or how! You can not run a business like this in 2018! Shame!

Don't try to become an instructor there. They remove your courses without any notification. After 3 days they send you an automated message saying stuff like this:
" At Skillshare, classes are first and foremost, educational. While reviewing your classes, we found that they did not meet our standards for minimum educational value. "
I uploaded 5 classes, and 4 were removed. That's how stupid they are. Stay away from this website.
Hi Hannah — I'm sorry to hear you had a negative experience posting classes on Skillshare. Our moderation team does enforce guidelines on Skillshare classes, to ensure high quality content for students. That said, we're very excited to have over 7,000 teachers on the platform and we're always looking to help community members become teachers themselves. If you'd like to receive coaching to teach on Skillshare, please email [email protected] and our Teacher Support Team can help you out.
I was not impressed with what they had to offer during the trial. The classes they offered were easily found on you tube or google for free. I accidentally renewed my subscription because they did it send me a notice to remind me and wouldn't refund my money.
I took multiple courses in photography, videography, drawing, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Premier, branding, logo designing, sales, marketing. The trainers were all very good, training materials were all useful, comprehensive and deep enough to bring me to a higher level of understanding. I could learn even from such topics which I practice on a regular or even daily basis. So I can highly recommend this to everyone.
Regarding the app, it is well thought out. It is intuitive, straightforward and works great even offline. I use it every week, mostly while traveling and flying. I had no issues ever.
PS: About negative tones: As a user, I do not understand the negative ratings. I used it free for 2 months and continued to use it, because the lectures were so great. Comparing what you can learn, from whom, and in what an easy and brilliant way makes 100 USD for a year my best educational investment.
Hi Peter — Thank you for this review! I'm so glad to hear you've had such a great experience on Skillshare, and it sounds like you've found a ton of great classes and teachers to learn from. Thanks for being such an active member of our community.
Skillshare has definitively the worst costumer service I ever had! It took me 15 minutes to get a refund from Amazon prime. I will do my best to make people aware of Skillshare policy We're unfortunately unable to provide refunds for monthly charges, but () Id be happy to make recommendations!.

I have been using SkillsShare for 6 months now, specifically for learning and improving creative writing skills, and I am very impressed. The quality and value of the course material and teaching is very good. The overall value of the site is also very good. I would like to see some improvements in the UI, navigation and discovery, but overall I still give it five stars.
Hi Lance — Thank you for your review, and your feedback! I'm so glad to hear you've enjoyed a variety of classes on Skillshare. If you run into any trouble with UI or navigation, please don't hesitate to write to us at [email protected] with feedback.
I think Skillshare is broad and inspiring. I love how I can touch up on my guitar skills and then learn something completely new on creative programs. I have finished 90% of classes feeling extremely satisfied.
Hi Mel — Thank you for your review! It's great to hear you've enjoyed such a wide range of creative classes on Skillshare. We're happy you're a part of the Skillshare community!
Horrible courses, even more horrible scammers. Charges you off $96 without notice. I truly wonder how they still have the decency to run their site based on scams and lies. This scam should be advertised more, as I see that a lot of people are in the same situation.
I didn't even know i had an account till i got a message on my phone saying i got charged 96USD by Skillshare. I send mails saying that i didn't know about this and asked for a refund but none is replying to me. I'm a broke university student and this amount of dollars in my Turkish currency is higher than my monthly rent. I regret it so much but i had no idea. I always saw the company on youtube and stuff and thought it was a decent company. I hope they respond to me give me a refund.
