[Update: It appears that they are processing my refund. They have downgraded my membership to the "free" (i. E., useless) status, and they sent me an email that said they are refunding my $167. Nothing has shown up in my account yet, but it is still early.]
My mailbox became flooded with scammers doing phishing attempts in less than 24 hours of signing up and paying $167+ for a premium (6-mo) membership. They have so far been very uncooperative in responding to my requests for a refund. Avoid this "service" like the plague! I have done many other dating services in the past, and this is by far the worst, even compared to the free ones. They are based in Berlin, Germany, so good luck trying to get a refund. The scammers all have email addresses embedded within their screen names, usually phonetically disguised, but the company performs no screening to prevent this. Perhaps the scammers have just found a way to hack through their weak safety measures. They don't show up as matches, but they do show up in both the site messages and your personal email. In just three days now, I have email from dozens upon dozens of these fake members.

I signed up and then cancelled after I started receiving messages from age groups that I am not interested in. Also, some pictures I think were fake. Could not get ahold of customer service and so I tried to cancel online and then they extended out my membership (which was for a month) for 6 months. Don't sign up. Creepy looking people. Think generally, that is is a scam. Contacting better business bureau today.

I've tried this site on two occasions, and this latest one have been spammed by almost 20 scam profiles EVERY DAY. Customer support only tells you to report them. Why am I doing their job?
I'm not sure if they're somehow on the take and get kickbacks from the scammers, the scammers are simply considered part of their normal revenue, or just don't care.
Any other site is better. Stay away.

silversingles.com is basically an email service where you can email with other members - of which there don't seem to be many of. Paying members can email back and forth. Non paying members are able to send "smiles" so it is pretty much like third grade. You get a lot of "smiles" but what's the point if you can't carry on a conversation? It wasn't a complete waste of money but it's pretty damn close to it...

I signed up my father for single silvers and I paid for it. The three month subscription. He told me all he has gotten is responses from bots and spammers with fake profile pix. He has shown me these profiles. When I paid for the subscription I realized that there's no guarantee that he will meet someone. However, I find it very upsetting that there are so many fake people/bots and spammers on your site. Okay Cupid and eharmony all take precautions against these sorts of things and behaviors. I would expect when I shell out $$$$ like that, you would too! I am very upset and I am not going to continue the subscription and I would like someone to contact me to discuss the issue. There is almost no one to contact to discuss this with and I've yet to locate any sort of customer service!

... and there's no way out! I filled out a required profile to see who their clientele is as I may want to date in the future. Not only could I not see any profiles, they published mine and men keep sending me messages I cannot read BECAUSE I DIDN'T SIGN UP! I have been trying to reach them for weeks to take my profile down as I AM NOT A CLIENT. They cannot be reached. Seriously. Try it. They won't even let me unsubscribe from getting these emails. This is some kind of sinister operation.

The company is impossible to reach. For three days the telephone recording indicated that all operators were busy serving other customers. It said there were? Other calls before me, but no number was given. I was told they would call back if I pressed 1. No one called back. Three days of no connection. Further, they indicated that women had responded and their profiles were at my member site. No one by those names appeared on site. I do not intend to pay for the total lack of service since I signed up last month.

I joined Silver Singles on December 9,2021. I set guidelines for my search within a 100 mile limit. I, however, received responses from all over the country. I also reported several obvious catfishers, although one very clever one got by me. When I was alerted, I did my own search on BeenVerified.com and was horrified I'd been taken in by a career criminal. (I, at least, was not dumb enough to give out bank info, but he had my private number). I canceled my account on January 22,2022. No chance of refund. All dating sites should vet everyone BEFORE profiles go up, not after potential damage has been done.

I have tried many dating apps…. Silver Singles is BY FAR the worst. I have been on this app for a month. I get 15-20 scammers contacting me EVERY DAY. I have written to the company and got no action to stop this odious reality. The scammers put a phone number in the place of their profile name. It would be VERY EASY for Silver Singles to stop these scammers. However, if the scammers all pay Silver Singles for each of these accounts, Silver Singles would lose a lot of revenue if they stop them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

After providing my bank information at the initial contact with Silver Singles they still couldn't use this information for future monthly membership premiums. No other businesses I have dealt with conducts their membership payments in this manner. Then they have the audacity to say I was in default of making monthly payments.

Stay clear of this sad excuse for a dating service.

Scam. Very very expensive. If you just join, you cannot see any pix. Have found it impossible to delete account. No info available, and no contact number. Stay away from this one.

Don't waste your money. I had every preference set to the least possible ("Not Important") setting yet still got messages saying that my preferences were too strict. When I set that I was only interested in non-smokers, I was still sent profiles of daily smokers. There's no way to set a distance preference less than 50 miles away, and even at 50 miles away I was matched with people over 200 miles away. Racial and cultural preferences seem to be ignored, and even though I selected that it's important to me to be matched with someone close to my height (I'm close to 6'), I was still matched with men around 5'3". You'd be better off picking somebody up off the street - at least you'll know they're a real person. I can't believe how many profiles were fake (note to scammers: people from Philly generally don't use the word "mayhaps"). They should be paying me for how many I reported. I absolutely will never go back on there.

I signed up for a one-month membership, for $27.99, just to test it out. Imagine my surprise when I received a PayPal receipt for $167.00. I immediately reached out to their customer service department, questioning how this could have happened and requesting they immediately refund me the difference. I also made it clear that the site was not providing the caliber of matches I was seeking (they were seriously horrendous and so far away, and completely beyond the age range I requested).
I did receive a very courteous email within 24 hours, apologizing and asking what they could do to make SS a better experience for me, and they did initiate a refund for the $167.00 and it has already hit my PayPal account so there's that, at least.
I responded to the email and again asked the agent to please tell me how I was charged that much money for the one-month membership in the first place.
I have not heard back and my guess is that I won't.

Save yourself. Do not join this site.

This site really was a huge waste of money. Despite setting up my profile as wanting only local, I only received potential matches from people far away. I constantly was getting a notice to beware they were investigating someone who contacted me as suspicious. It seemed most people on the site were not actually real. The few people I interacted with had the same experience. This site was a HUGE waste of my money and time. Do not waste your time!

A lot of scammers and they (consumer care) don't do anything besides their apologies…
They have serious issues and nothing of responsability.

Messages & their profiles (which are easy to determine by their broken English, obvious lack of understanding where people live and how tall they are in inches, other laughable factors), I wouldn't get any messages at all! Customer Service has ignored multiple emails from me. Also their Website and app work differently from each other. Add to that constantly getting notification emails that a prospective date has left me a message or visited my profile, only to click on the link and find there's nothing there. It's hard to believe how badly run and put together this site is. Complete and utter waste of money and time.

This is a horrible site Again I can't seem to submit this review. I was here before and I'm seeing the same exact profiles. There are only a handful of profiles that I am matched with. Most of my matches are in another state. It doesn't matter if you put a 50 mile radius maximum. You will be matched with anyone and it's so random. The site is full of scam and fake profiles. Stay away from the site. It's a waste of your hard earned money.

Silver Singles is not a dating site I would recommend to anyone let alone someone that is looking for a meaningful relationship. Between the phony profiles (they do catch them but only after you have been contacted by the fake person) and the difficulty in getting in contact with them, this site does not provide you with anything more than a free site would. Even when you specify the gender you are looking for, you still get matches for the wrong gender.
