Gone downhill
June 17, 2023

I used to look forward to shopping at goodwill, but not anymore.
The prices on all the goods they receive free from donations are a complete joke. Obviously I am not the only one to take note. I don't see shoppers leaving with much merchandise. It's gotten to the point you might as well shop retail. Goodwill's prices are awfully close to what you can buy new at most retail stores.
Also, the help at this store is horrendous at restocking. Clothing is so badly sorted and stocked willy nilly.
I'm no longer interested in shopping at Goodwill when I can purchase products that are new at about the same or slightly higher prices.
Also, this store in Olympia, WA. No longer takes furniture donations and their donations is very rarely open, citing low staff.
Just a suggestion, lower the prices and stop gouging your patrons.

I purchased the repurposed jewelry box from Goodwill Blue Box. It was supposed to buy a 2-get-1-free sale. I only received the 2 boxes that I purchased. I thought, hey they made a mistake, let me contact them. That didn't turn out like I thought it would. If you go to their website the email address listed there gets returned to the sender undeliverable. Their Facebook page messenger gives you a different email address. I'm not sure if that address is valid, as I haven't received any response after multiple attempts. At this point, I'm counting it as a wash and will not be purchasing anything from them again.

I purchase several 14K gold pocket watches in the past from different Shop goodwill sites. Upon recently having items tested by independent gold refining Co, discovered they are all plated or gold filled. So for the hundreds of dollars spent for each pocket watch, I am going to get a few cents back. I have also read feedback recently and a problem came to my attention that another person identified. I have been almost always outbid. Upon checking further have noticed the same item coming back for bid at the same site. It is happening in several Goodwill locations, not jut one. I have also brought to stores attention that their item was ambiguously listed. One such item was an Italian bracelet listed at 15.29 grams. Upon receipt only 2 grams was gold and the rest was silicon. When brought to their attention, denied any wrong doing, except that they put the 15.29 in the heading and should have just had picture of scale with the item on it. Shortly thereafter, 2 more of the same bracelets were listed, with the weight in title. Shop goodwill in my opinion are just scammers using non profit as a cover to rip good people off. In my dealings with them, my experience is that they have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I won a lot of coins which weighed 3.22 pounds. When I got my package it weighed less then a pound. The shipping label states actual weight and I understand there process of dimmed which is whatever is greater that is what shipping cost. I bought them for my grandson who was excited about some of the coins in the photos but they were not in the box I recieved. I am recently widowed and 86 years old and feeled like a old lady that got scammed. So much for "good will" I emailed them to explain my situation. They want me to take phots and photograph the box of coins on a scale showing the weight! Here is a idea look at the shipping label and packing slip which clearly shows this info. The guy who name is on my paper work is Matt Peterson who is the director of ecommerce store. They returned my email saying there was no issue. I dont think Matt is going to say, oh yeah I took your coins. My grandson and my late husband enjoyed coins and im trying to fill that void and grieving at the same time. Shame on you! I read that veterans affair manget stole over $300,000 from grants that should have gone to veterans programs, how pathic. He got jail time. The employees are not allow to bid or buy items they dont have too they can just take what they want and some old lady like me paid $108 for MATT PETTERSON TO STEAL CHANGE, COINS FROM A SENIOR ON FIXED INCOME AND A 9 YEAR OLD. Im a christian but go to HELL. Another slap in the face they dismiss with a email that does resolve my issue just gasoline on a FIRE. Im so MAD!

Purchased an anchor Diamond necklace for $180.
They sent me an empty box!
The worker packing it put it in someone else"s package.
They emailed the person it sent to but she never responded.
She got a free Diamond necklace.
They went back and looked at the cameras and saw she put it in the wrong box.
They did refund my money.
What else could they do.
I couldn't make this up if I wanted to,
Embarrassing way to do business.
I had won it in the auction, paid my money and waited for weeks.
Talk about disappointment,

Some sellers on this site ship fast. Some sellers wait up to seven (7) days before shipping
an item. In the past, I had to email sellers to request a shipping date (this should not happen it you have a
Persons money). If you want to do good business, treat customers like a they are shopping at a regular store (not a thrift store). As soon as you get their money, ship the item no later than (3) business days. It makes you look professional, even if your not.

Wrote a review about the auction website. I couldn't even attach a photo about what I was talking about. Even this review website is goofy that I can't attach my photos. Anyway, Minnesota had a pair of VERY used sandals (a Birckie knock off) and very used Crocs starting at $29.99. WHAT?! This is crazy; especially for a stupid website that is so stupid compared to the last two program versions. Just awful. Better to shop FB. I can't believe I just said that but it's true.

I am ecstatic that I won the antique tea cup for $11. It's beautiful. My teacup for $11 ended up being $39.45. The shipping cost was $20.45 the handling fee was $5 then plus tax. I'll just stick to my antique stores or Etsy. Definitely a Rip off.

There should be a Class Action Lawsuit for Shopgoodwill.com illegally collecting Sales Tax due to it being a NON-PROFIT organization. Prior to 2023 (Jan. 1st) they collected Sales Tax - BUT NO MORE, THEY HAVE STOPPED COLLECTING SALES TAX.
I have been buying on Shopgoodwill.com since the early 2016 and have paid THOUSANDS of dollars in Sales Tax to Shopgoodwill.com. So the other day, I go into my purchase History on Shopgoodwill and find ALL the Sales Tax I paid is now ZEROED out. I have paid Thousands of dollars in Sales Tax which I assume they have been pocketing the money collected this whole time as added Profit. There is no record of it now, this is scandalous.
Someone needs to start a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against them, since it seems they're trying to hide all the Sales Taxes they have collected in the past.
If anyone is interested, DM me and we will see what we can do. I know Shopgoodwill.com inside and out.
I'm tired of Corporate Executives doing Illegal actions in order to boost their bottom-line.
It's Time to make them accountable for their actions.
Let me know what you think...

If you had asked me about ShopGoodwill a couple of years ago, I would've told you that they are a great place to get some interesting deals. However, I'm not so happy with them anymore. Their shipping prices have become outrageously high, and their customer service is terrible! I purchased an older model laptop a few weeks ago, which was listed as tested and working. When I received it, it didn't have a power adapter with it, So I had to order one on Amazon. When I finally got the adapter in the mail, I plugged it into the laptop, and saw that it wasn't working at all. It took me two days to reach somebody, because the person that I needed to speak to was apparently away from the office. When I finally got a hold of somebody, I explained what had happened. I spent a grand total of about $21.00 for the laptop with the shopping. But they only agreed to refund me about $6.00 ( the original winning cost of the item). They would not refund the shipping. They let me keep the defective laptop, but it really doesn't do me that much good. I'm going to have to sell it for parts to make up for the lost in shipping costs. I have a feeling the whole thing was a setup. It really ticks me off!

Shipping Cost
May 12, 2023

I gave up on several stores and keep a list of the bidders, and what items reappear down the road - plain to see the dishonesty. One, for example, charges shipping that's outright theft. Example: a toy model 3lbs box 15x13x9 they are charging $23.77 Plus Handling 2.99, and Tax. The model is under $40. New.

I've had wonderful experiences with some of the shopgoodwill.com stores, but terrible service from others outweigh the good now. Biggest issue: not disclosing damage that is easily seen once receive item, and not shown in photos, and then the store will not fairly give you a refund for the undisclosed damage to try to pay to fix the item. They are rude and totally unprofessional. I stopped buying. You lost a great buyer & donations from me. I'll shop where people are nice, not rude.

$$jacked$$
May 4, 2023

I have bought a couple of things I've been satisfied with, as well as for the price, realizing shipping is sort of the price u pay having nothing to do with what u are. Getting... but GIVE ME A BREAK some of the prices AND SHIPPING are SO JACKED. And then you see the item listed again even though someone has supposedly bought it. I find it really implausible THAT many people have abandon their treasures. Virtually no details about so many items. Kind of mostly a racket I think...

The same goodwill store had 2-of the same model but one was clearly missing parts. I was going to buy both of them but had a limit on the amount. I was watching this for a whole week only to have the guy that I outbid receive my far better item. Not happy I even spent more than I wanted just to beat him because he won the first machine. I messaged them of coarse they were" getting my machine back to send me but offered 60% off the one I received. I accepted but regretted it later. Once I checked the vintage sewing machine out I found it had a lot of missing parts too many to buy to repair it. I wasn"t counting on a bad motor also. I did have a spare machine but no motor but this was parts for my personal machine.I ended up using the parts and have a motor on the way. But here is my advice unless you know how to repair items and have the parts don"t but a untested item from Shopgoodwill or any where else but they are the worst. Prices are as much as eBay but no guarantee.I almost forgot they put this a 35lb machine in the case in a box with only brown paper for protection the case was destroyed and I threw it in the trash. They charge a handling fee for throwing your item in a box with no protection what a joke. Also the base of the machine held on by 4-main screws was barley hanging on by 2-of the VERY LOOSE screws and you could clearly see this had been taken apart and parts were missing inside they knew this and never mentioned it DISHONEST No Pride only GREED. Photo is not the piece of junk I received they are on my phone I will try to update from my phone.

Loved shopgoodwill at first, but now they shill bid then relist everything they "won" over and over until it goes high enough. Then they tack on huge handling fees and inflated shipping prices. Not at all worth wasting your time. They will shill bid you every single time.

The Shopgoodwill website is broken. Auction winners are not being notified about their winning bid after the auctions end. There is no request for payment.

This has now happened to me four times. I receive other emails from the website, but not any notification of winning. I checked my spam folder, too.

I know that I won only if I go back and check my account. However, if I assume a winning notification will be sent, it never comes. I have now won four times without being notified.

I reported the problem to Shopgoodwill support and was completely ignored. The responses appear automated. When I requested a supervisor or contact by the website developer, I was ignored.

I have used this website for 10 years. I understand it is for charity, but even charities need to operate like a real business. An important function of the auction website is not working and there is no one who will respond or fix it.

It costs more to get an item shipped to you than you paid for it...fees are very high.and i feel and see items that bring way more than they are worth or that you can buy them for a much cheaper price on ebay.
