I found for the second time recently 7 books of mine to download on scribd. They do monyy with my work while i am struggling to have some moeney. They removed the books but the uploader have another book he don't own the copyright.

I needed a book for a project I was working on and found scribd. I read a lot anyway so the service sounded awesome... it was (subjectively) meh. I cancelled my free trial/membership, deleted the account and then forgot all about it. I signed up using a UK bank card that I never use since I live abroad and thus never really check my balance. When i did check my balance several months later I was VERY surprised to see that I was being charged by Scribd. Confused, i go to the site to see whats going on. I try to log in with my email address and password only to be told my account has been deleted (as i thought it had). IF MY ACCOUNT HAS BEEN DELETED, HOW THE HELL CAN THEY BE CHARGING ME A MONTHLY FEE. I've tried to begin a dialogue with them about being refunded, but apparently they don't refund after a certain amount of time. Complete scam.

Paid 6 months of 8.99 and repeatedly tried to cancel from the get-go. This is a scam of a service with no good useful products. Their website makes it purposely impossible to navigate to cancel. I got confirmation that I canceled my subscription in 2/2018 and I was still billed in 3/2018. I wish this company would disappear from the face of the planet--steer clear.

I was a student when I first used scribd with the free trial. I canceled it and nothing. For the next 14 months, my credit card was drained. NO EMAIL, NO NOTHING that they were stealing my money. I am a science teacher and I have been uploading my PPT documents in archive to easily access in following years, none of my documents are downloadable-message says owner has set documents to private, yet when I upload new PPts there is no setting or in my account to set these in public.
