Ryobi enjoys a mixed reputation among its customers, with notable strengths in product quality and versatility. Many users appreciate the performance and ease of use of their tools, particularly battery-operated lawn equipment, which is praised for its efficiency and lightweight design. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to warranty claims, service delays, and difficulties in obtaining replacement parts. Complaints about inadequate support and communication suggest a need for improvement in customer relations. Overall, while Ryobi has a loyal customer base, enhancing service responsiveness could bolster its reputation further.

Plunge router RE180PL1G came complete ready-to-run with two large screws, 1/4" & 1/2" sockets & tightening wrench plus a useful manual. Freehand use requires a strong grip for this 8.2 lb. unit. The soft start feature is smooth and welcoming at all speeds. For a long 2 foot plunge cut I wanted an edge guide, but non seems to exist. For the plunge mode I found it difficult to overcome the strong plunge springs and maintain the full depth. Using the plunge lock, then starting the unit was a workable solution. Two vendors sent me edge guides that didn't work because the mounting rods need to be 3.5" apart to mount to this unit. Home Depot has the missing hardware (to anchor the rods) if you find something that fits: Cap screws M5-0. X 16mm & nuts M%-0.8 mm. At Lowes I found The Milescraft 1224 Edge & Mortise Guide $38.98 that mounts to the router (without rods). Ignore instructions to remove the base plate of the router, just use those two large screws (in the router kit) to anchor the center plate to the base. Works well together.
I tried my mini usb high pressure inflator for the first time to air up the tires on my bike. It worked perfectly. It also has straps to attach it to my bike. It's a lot easier and faster than my hand pump. I found the perfect portable air supply. THANKS RYOBI!
We currently own several Ryobi products battery operated mower now five years old, same battery and has never failed in hundreds of use. Same as weed eater string trimmer purchased at the same time as mower. We recently purchased a 3 Gallon vacuum cleaner that is so handy for auto cleaning and works as good as my large shop vac without the hassle of extension cords and long unruly hoses.
Great dependable products Next one up to purchase is their extension wash brush.
We live on the northern coast of California we have to mow our lawns from February through October, so Ryobi has proved to us that they make reliable tools.
Overall this nail gun is great. We have several Ryobi tools that are battery operated and use them most weeks.
My complaint is with the registration. I an not completely computer dumb but I cannot even get to "chat" to ask for help. I have proof of purchases but don't know how to upload them.
I have a 12 inch 40v chainsaw and while out back I lost a couple of parts. I figured it would be no problem but while trying to order the parts I found out they were no longer available. I contacted RYOBI and they worked with me above and beyond what I would have expected. All I can say is their customer service is amazing. I'm a customer for life.
Our leaf blower quit working after ~1 year. Home Depot has shut down their authorized service centers, and the only authorized service center near Atlanta is 50-75 miles away. Ryobi will not pay for you to ship the defective/non-working product to their service center. The only alternative is to drive 100 miles round trip. What a sham! Do not buy Ryobi unless you want to incur a major hassle to get your product fixed at your expense.
Great for work around your house & also for job site cleaning/clean up. I deal with a lot of dirt/mud which goes from boots to sidewalks, driveways, siding, exterior walls, ect. & it cleans all these areas without any damage to property, so it looks like we were never there. I recommend it to anyone looking to preform similar work.
RYOBI really $#*!ed the dog on the 40v (power washer) omg this thing didn't hold together one use, I can't believe it's still a thing they are trying to sell. Word of advice to anyone even thinking of any type of power washer STAY AWAY! Biggest waste of money I have ever spent. RYOBI should be ashamed! Never again and this is only my first review
I'd love to write a review about the inverter I just bought but unfortunately I can't get through the damn packaging to get to it. Come on Ryobi, you don't think this is a little excessive? And I've got 4 of these packages to get through? I don't know...
I bought a ryobi riding lawn mower mod.#ry48ztr100 in Aug. 2020. It came with a 3yr. Warranty. It worked fine until May 27,2022. That day I was mowing and it jerked to the left and would not move or fire up. I contacted ryogi techs and they did try to help me resolve the issue under full warranty. When their solutions failed to fix it, the rep said I would have to take it to Home Depot in Tulsa. That is 75 miles away from me, but I did rent a U-Haul and delivered it to Home Depot in Tulsa on Aug. 18,2022. They finally called me on Jan. 10,2023 and said it was fixed. I rented another U-Haul and picked it up. It ran fine the next day. On Feb. 22,2023, I was mowing and the mower pulled to the left and quit and wouldn't go again. I contacted Micah Bush on Feb. 23,2023 and he told me they would probably have to send a repairman to my location and fix it. I sent him a copy of my credit card statement showing the $3,408 purchase, model and serial numbers of mower and my name, address and phone number. Micah Bush called me on Feb. 28,2023 and said my warranty was no good because I bought it online. They had honored the warranty up until then without question. My 3 yr. Warranty doesn't expire until Aug. 17,2023. So now I'm stuck with a $3,400 piece of scrap iron. Max Brewer, Checotah, Ok.
I recently purchased a battery powered Ryobi 8" chain saw and it has worked perfectly for what I needed. My confusion came, admittedly after my first use, when I installed the guard that was included with the saw to protect the tip of the blade. After I installed it, I then tried to place the sleeve that protects the entire blade. I was surprised to learn that the sleeve will not fit on the blade if the guard is installed! It seems like a simple matter of redesign of the sleeve shape in order to allow use of both of these safety features, thereby enhancing the overall safety of the tool.
My 40 Volt Leaf Blower has exceeded my expectations for power, ease of use and assembly, and longevity of battery strength.Debated getting a gas model and now my choice has proven to be exactly what I wanted.
I purchased the cordless weed eater and blower. They are great products. Plenty of power and long battery life. I'm very happy with my purchase. Well worth the money.
I watch professional home builders, remodelers vidios on tv and the internet. I see then using RYOBI power tools alot. I just bought a RYOBI 4,000 watt inverter generator as we had a power outtage in Commerce Mi. Which is happening more frequently in the past year. I assembled this generator, filled the crankcase with the oil supplied with the generatorand filled the fuel tank. It started on the second pull. I conected my power wires from the generator to my furnace, hot water heater, and other necessary items. Worked fine. Really impressed with the small amoint of fuel it consumed for running over 48 hours straight. Good buy.
The ryobi batery lawn mowers are crap, I am lucky if I get 10 minutes out of mine before it goes flat, waste of time and money
My Ryobi mower would not start after one year of normal home use. I took to Home Depot. Home Depot charged me $33 to assess. They discovered severed wire. They would not cover under warranty, saying broken part was due to "owner abuse" and "owner neglect."
If you go look at reviews at Home Depot website you see similar problems for Ryobi mowers. The product is cheaply constructed and Home Depot is not trustworthy. Spread the word. Don't buy at Home Depot.
We now have 5 RYOBI tools total. Having good luck with them all, both gas and battery operated. Taking them out of the box and assembling them with the easy to understand instructions was very helpful. Will be purchasing another in the future when the need arises.
Ease of assembly. No issues attaching my RYOBI router. Took some finagling to get the router bit at the debts I desired. Once set up it preformed as expected.
I would recommend.
Purchased at Home Depot.
I've bought a garage full of ryobi tools in the last 4 years based on the fact that Home Depot did their warranty service repairs. The self propelled function went out on my lawn mower while still under warranty. Home Depot is no longer a service center for Ryobi tools effective January of 2023. My only option now is to drive or ship my lawn mower 135 miles from my home. That doesn't really work for me, so Ryobi told me that's your option, if you don't take it, your warranty service is not covered. Crappy customer service. Ryobi needs more service centers since they lost Home Depot. Having to ship a lawn mower for warranty repairs is ridiculous. Sure wish I didn't have a garage full of these tools. I certainly will not be purchasing any more of them since they can't honor their warranty service without it being a major inconvenience for their customers.
We had a major ice storm in TX, many tree branches were damaged and we did not have a chainsaw. The shear volume of branches meant we could not use an axe or saw to cut all down to size. We chose the cordless model as we have a complete set of yard tools lawn mower, weed eater and blower already in cordless model so our chose was an wasy one to make. In now time we had all cut with some of the wood stacked for firewood. Meant we were done in short order using our blower for final clean up. Great product and performed outandingly. Thanks for another fine tool.
Answer: I own 2 chain saws, 18" bar and 14"bar, both run excellent, I have cleared a lot of trees over the last several years on property up north, thank you
Answer: Yes, call Ryobi's 800 number. They will send a replacement. The same thing happened to me.
