Ryobi enjoys a mixed reputation among its customers, with notable strengths in product quality and versatility. Many users appreciate the performance and ease of use of their tools, particularly battery-operated lawn equipment, which is praised for its efficiency and lightweight design. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to warranty claims, service delays, and difficulties in obtaining replacement parts. Complaints about inadequate support and communication suggest a need for improvement in customer relations. Overall, while Ryobi has a loyal customer base, enhancing service responsiveness could bolster its reputation further.

I've been using RYOBI power tools for my personal home use more than 30 years. They are affordable, dependable and sturdy. In fact, I have an old RYOBI 1/2" cordless battery operated drill that's every bit as good as a new one. The only thing I've had to replace is the battery! I also have a RYOBI 18V Hedge Trimmer. And, I recently purchased a RYOBI 18V leaf blower and a cordless weed trimmer at my neighborhood HOME DEPOT in Sun City Center, Florida on Oct. 8,2022. I got 'em both along with an 18V battery and battery charger for an amazingly low price ($130.00). I don't have a single complaint about RYOBI. For my residential needs, they have the very best tools and accessories on the market today.
I own a RYOBI pcl 811 fan(my newest purchase), P411 sander, p507 saw, p320 nailer, p234 impact, p271 drill, p*******, p4360, p2003L. I had to go look in my shop and get the numbers off each item. I didn't know i had bought all those tools. My favorite point is the quality of these products plus they all use the same battery. My friends have all been impressed by the cutting ability of the pole saw and the nailer ease of use. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING! (sorry I don't know how to atttach a photo)
I'm just an old man (72) looking for an easier way to get thing done!

I love the weight and power of the blower The only issue I have, since I am starting to get arthritis in my hand, it is difficult to hold both of the buttons at the same time to engage the battery
Bought a RYC490 log splitter on 11/16/2020. Used it 3 times and motor kept stalling and then quit working. Took to their service company - they ordered a replacement. Delivery man delivered another one on 3/25/2021 and dropped it off the truck. Wouldn't quit leaking oil. Took it back to service company and they ordered another replacement. Received that one on 10/18/2021 - but was too late in the season to use it. All wood was already split by hand. Kept it in the garage, tags still attached, never used and tried to use it this weekend 10/2022 and motor sounds like it is "locked up". After 6 trips back and forth to service center - we still don't have a log splitter and now is the season to get that done. Customer service department at Ryobi is a joke! Only thing they will offer is to have US take it to their service center, for another trip! Won't give our money back and won't give us a better model. Will NEVER buy one of their products again!
Assembled the weed eater, ran it for more than an hour. One minor problem with feeding the twine. Once corrected it performed as expected.
The 1st 18v battery on the tool lasted about 2 weeks of light weed-eating. 2nd lasted about a week and that's it. I'm done with Ryobi. Absolute disaster and just incredibly frustrating not to get the job done and to be out the original cost of the tool plus an extra battery. Now what am I supposed to do? Just write it off to stupidity on my part for trusting RYOBI? From what I've read these lousy batteries are a constant complaint despite the glowing 5 star reviews obviously written by RYOBI employees with multiple email accounts. What a joke. Class action law suit anyone?
Hello my name is Edwaed Lemmons
I have been using Ryobi products for years. My first purchase w as a Ryobi lawn mower about four years or more ago. Was very pleased that it came with a 40 volt lithium battery that carried a charge that last and I was able to cot my front and back lawn on one charge, because it was battery operated I was easy to move with ease and it was a self propulsion the mower practically moved by itself with little effort on my behalf. I was so pleased I purchased and the power attachment that came with a string trimmer attachment, The great thing about the power attachment is that I was able to purchase a blower, an edger and a tree trimmer and they all worked with the power attachment. I though this saved me tons of money and it was so convenient to just change the attachment when needed to tackle other jobs. I am so pleased with all the Ryobi I purchased a cordless drill, circular saw and an awesome power blower that came complete with the 40 volt lithium battery and charger. At this point I am very pleased with my Ryobi products and there are nothing on the market that can come close to Ryobi products. Finally I am a handy man I do repairs for my two druthers in their homes an d my Son owns a fitness gym I also do repairs for him as well and I cam use the great saving that Ryobi has saved me over the years and the products are very dependable thanks Ryobi. Thanks again Edward Lemmons,
It's light and easy to use with the hazzle of wires and its powerful to blow leaves help keep almost anything clean
Ryobi used to have the best edger/weed whacker with a 40 v battery. They discontinued it and went to a very cheap piece of junk with an 18 v battery. The thing eats up cord like you wouldn't believe. Very disappointed. Looking for a replacement with the same type of rotating dual purpose head.
Purchased a new blower about a year ago. It recently just stopped working. It has a 5 year warranty.
As required, I dropped the blower off for repair. It could not be repaired, and I was sent a replacement.
The replacement is a reconditioned blower but only has a one-year warranty. What a scam.
This stick vacuum is, light weight, has good suction, is great for dog hair. The filter and roller brush are both very easy to clean. The vacuum was a good price. The vacuum comes with wall charger and 18v battery, as well crevice tool and brush.
I appreciate the dependable tools to get my work done efficiently and safe for home and construction work for easy to use and affordable for many uses
The 1 star is only because the tools are cheaper to buy in a pinch, iv got multiple ryobi tools the 4 amp batteries are actually good i can say that much BUT. BUY at your own risk i bought a kit in January the kit consisted of 2 drills 1 impact drill and 1 regular drill a skill saw, sawzall, flashlight and 2 batterys, so far the sawzall has burnt out motors gone started smoking then it quit, ryobi claims the warranty is up its been 6 months iv owned it, so i bought a newer compact ryobi sawzall hp brushless and well the clip that releases the blade broke i just bought it 2 weeks ago well iv now returned it at home depot blade stuck in then sawzall still and all so for my 3rd sawzall ill keep youll posted on how long this 1 last, im a contractor so i actually use these tools daily impact gun works great not to fast not to slow, skill saw works great nice and light but dont trust the 3 year warranty its a lie...
I just purchased this Ryobi 2 gallon sprayer and it works great like all the other ryobi tools I have, like the battery operation instead of pump.
I used the 18-volt trimmer a few times and now the cutter blade screw comes loose after very little use
I have previously owned a ryobi 2 stroke weed trimmer. Then in 2020 purchased a 4 stroke Ryobi trimmer. The other day i was in home depot and was looking at a 40 volt trimmer. I really loved the feel of it, it really sold itself. I had some concerns of the battery one would have the power to do the job. It came home with me and the assembly was a snap, I charged the 40 volt battery and went to an area of where there were some assorted weeds growing under the rail of the fence. It amazed me! It is light weight and does one hec of a job. I would highly recommend this tool be in your arsenal of tools. I am now anticipating the other tool attachments that adapt to the operating handle.
I am very happy with this Ryobi tool. Dan
I bought a new Ryobi push mower. Love the speed with which the battery charges and how long the battery lasts. Hate that I cannot use my mower because it came defective and will take a minimum of 8 weeks to "evaluate" and several more weeks to "order parts". So I have no recourse and no mower. I will pay more for someone to mow my lawn while I wait for my new mower to be repaired than I paid for the new mower. Ryobi products have been good so far but if you encounter a problem, you are stuck.
-purchased early spring on sale; first used June.
Weed eater broke 3rd time using it. Called ryobi and was told to take it to repair center that they said take it to. 30 miles there and they don't repair it, they ship it to Atlanta for repairs and charged me $30. Almost 9 weeks later and still can't get any status on it. JUNK all the way around.
I own many cordless 40v Ryobi tools, lawnmower, trimmer, leaf blower, snow blower... and I have absolutely zero complaints. I would recommend Ryobi products to anyone unsure of which brand to buy. Makes yard work much easier. Thankyou Ryobi!
I have a 40 volt weed eater, the strings break as they always seem to. So we purchased a ryobi plastic blade device to replace it. It broke the first day, I thought perhaps it was something I did, purchased another. It also broke in in the same place. Next day they battery died. 189.00 for a new battery or 169.00 for a whole new trimmer. I'll go back to the dewalt that never has failed me
Answer: I own 2 chain saws, 18" bar and 14"bar, both run excellent, I have cleared a lot of trees over the last several years on property up north, thank you
Answer: Yes, call Ryobi's 800 number. They will send a replacement. The same thing happened to me.
