Yesterday, 12/25/25, I received an email from Royal Chess Mall wanting me to review and take photos of my purchase. It is hard to review a product you have yet to receive. I only ordered the chess set because it was stated on the website that order would be received in 5-8 days. Order confirmation was received 12/11/25. On 12/20/25 I got notice that the order was being held in customs because of incomplete paperwork in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. As of today, 12/26/25, according to Fed Ex, it is still in Memphis, TN, USA.even though I was assured by Royal Chess Mall that the problem was resolved on 12/22/25. I am extremely disappointed that I did not have this to gift my grandson on Christmas. Beware when ordering, products are shipping from India. No where on the website is shipping location stated. Do not order if you expect to receive your order within the time frame promised. Update: Just spoke with FedEx, now delivery is delayed until Jan. 29 because they will not deliver on weekends with the way it was shipped.

My order was confirmed 2 weeks ago. They gave me a Fedex tracking number two days later. The same day they told me Fedex classifies my location as a "remote location" and they require a surcharge of 29.93 USD to deliver to me. (FedEx would rather lose the sale than absorb the cost.) They offered to deliver by Shipglobal (a company I've never heard of but whose reputation is concerning. Reviews on Indian platforms are overwhelmingly negative, with users citing delays, poor customer support, unprofessional handling, and even fraud) even though DHL delivers regularly to me. Why not use DHL (or Shipglobal, if they trust the company) by default? It's not as if I care who they contract to deliver provided that they are sure I'll get my order in good time. I responded, and the next day they told me "We are dispatching your parcel [by] Shipglobal". 3 days ago they told me they were still waiting for my reply. I have sent them a screenshot of their "dispatching" message and perhaps one day I'll get my order.

The chessboard is carefully crafted, and the materials (wood) are of high quality.
Delivery was fast, and communication throughout the entire delivery process was perfect.
I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Absolutely beautiful hand crafted chess pieces Suits my board I picked up on marketplace perfectly

The 1904 Cambridge Springs International chess tournament inspired this reproduction chess set. Very well crafted in ebony and boxwood, the knight distinguishes itself from other typical equestrian figures. Some may call it a Llama, others say a laughing horse. Either way, it's quite enjoyable and notably unique amongst most other chess knights. Along with comments from my friends regarding the knight, some also remarked on the hefty weight of the ebony pieces (measured at 17% more than the boxwood counterparts). An elegant set with early 20th century styling, and a nice addition to my collection.

Most of the chess pieces I received are painted off and even the bright colored king is painted with a noticeable red indelible dot.

You included an envoice for US$580 dollars and I have to pay high duty taxes in Dominican Republic. My purchase was for US$224.
Taxes is higher then this price!

I recently purchased a chessboard for my Dad who is a Chessmaster by the way. This board complimented the pieces he dreamed of to add to his collection, MY DAD REALLY ENJOYED!

After looking through all the staunton sets. I kept coming back to this one. The preportions are just perfect. The detail is so crisp. Each piece is weighted perfectly. Craftsmanship of the highest quality. I bought these knowing they won't fit on the board I just made. I'll just have to make another the squares are 45mm and 7mm thick. Need to make a board 55mm or 60mm squares. I'll treasure this set forever. It's the best set in my collection.

This set is beautiful and good for analysis. I can't see any imperfections. I'm just upset that I can't use my rewards on top of the offered discounts unlike in chessbazzar where you can use both. I hope they can offer both discounts so it may be more affordable for the consumers.

I received a damaged item, emailed as instructed with details. No one has got back to me. Customer service phone line does not have the option to leave a message.

The purchase process was easy and importantly, the sales team on the What's App chat were responsive and happy to answer questions that I asked about quality assurance and checking pieces before packing and shipment. This was reassuring. So I finalised the transaction.
Five working days, eights days in total the pieces landed in my door step in Melbourne Australia. 👍
Initially I was a tad worried. The cardboard packaging was dented from being dropped in transit and customs had inspected the package … sometimes that can point to broken or scratched pieces. I need not have worried. The pieces were perfect… and that knight … it's actually glorious - beautiful. Quaint but somehow regal on its stand … my concern in photos became a highlight when in my hand.
While one of the more expensive sets that I have purchased - it is wonderful and I'm stoked.

I searched the internet and free shipping sold me.
My pieces arrived a day earlier than scheduled, I was provided all tracking information and kept updated. Once I opened the box the pieces were beautiful. They look and feel great!
Well done Royal Chess Mall, I would recommend and use RCM for all my future purchases!

The Knight is really carved to perfect reproduction as shown in Bobby Fischer's video clips of his Dubrovnik chess pieces. Excellent reproduction! Fast delivery and well protected package!

The Chess pieces are beautiful and elegant. The reason I purchased this set as an addition to my collection was mainly because the design of the bishops. I typically, as many of us, look at the design of the knights first, but in this case the bishops caught my attention. I love the knights of this set too; the design on both of these pieces pushed me to buy the set.
Beautiful craftsmanship and the color of the pieces as well as the wood flow on the dark knights is stunning.
The purchasing process was very straightforward. Shipping was fast, considering they shipped from India. I am a believer that high quality sets take time to arrive. Excellent packaging too!
The only thing I can say is that the knights are on the lighter side, they seem to weight less than other pieces (not ponds). And speaking of ponds, those do vary slightly in their weight among other ponds.
Overall a great set and addition to my collection!

I had these items in my bookmarks for several years. Finally decided to give myself an Xmas gift. Couldn't be more pleased. Board and pieces are beautiful. Pieces have that heft that is comforting to the hand and a dull thud as you place them on the board...provides a tactile and auditory sensation along with the visual beauty. Ordering was easy, shipping was quick - really, I got these faster than some of my stateside purchases. Packing was excellent. Even better was the Holiday discount that made my purchase more affordable. All around just a great purchase.

Fantastic game with very carefully crafted figures on a color-coordinated board. Thanks to elaborate packaging arrived in impeccable condition. So shopping really brings joy and is worth the money.

The designed lenght of the handles are completely useless as they are much too long making it impossible to carry the bag via the handles as the bag touches the ground constantly if you walk with the transport bag using the handles!

Therefore the transport bag is useless to walk with carrying your (my) expensive chessboard by the handles of the bag because if one does so it will ruin both the bag and chessboard inside the bag!

Great disappointment for me this purchase!
