The company, Roomster, exhibits a polarized reputation among its users. Positive feedback highlights the platform's user-friendly interface and a variety of affordable listings, with some customers successfully finding suitable rooms. However, significant concerns overshadow these strengths, including deceptive practices regarding message visibility, a lack of genuine leads, and inadequate customer support. Many users express frustration over payment models that feel exploitative, alongside reports of scams and unresponsive service. Overall, while some appreciate the platform's potential, the prevailing sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency and customer care to enhance user trust and satisfaction.

The entire experience from navigation of the site to scammers I've already encountered are huge negatives & precaution tales.
Only replied on two profiles and received two messages
Just posted our listing and have already received 2 hits in less than 2 hours.
I tried to open account with a Visa card and I got "BAD INFORMATION" or something like that and it would not be accepted. Had to change to different card. Plus I have no idea if my email address is included with any messages (inquiries) I send so I include it in my text. Were my response messages even sent before I paid for membership today? I'm surprised I haven't got any replies.
Don't like to pay for this info. Just curious why..
I signed up for a weekly subscription using their 7day pass to be able to read my messages on their website from what i thought were other users. I discovered these messages were mostly from creepy older men asking me how im doing, etc- completely irrelevant to apartment rentals. First red flag. Then i look at my bank statement and see a $24.95 charge from roomster on top of the 2 weeks i signed up for two 7 day weekly passes for the month of May. Second red flag. I look up a customer service number for Roomster and the only phone number i managed to find, only had a voice recording. No real people or even automated recordings on this line. I email them only for their "customer service" to tell me it is in fine print when you sign up for a 7 day pass, that you also are charged $24.95 on top of that for a month subscription. Not once was i prompted this subscription fee when i purchased the 7 day pass. Not only do you waste your money on sneaky fees, but the website isn't even legitimate. Now i am also receiving calls from random phone numbers from people looking for roommates. This website should be shut down immediately. Who knows what other personal information they disclose.
It is so stupid that I have to pay to talk to a person. Why in the world is this not free? People could be in a serious pinch needing to find a place asap and yall are over here ripping desperate people off. And if you are going to charge it shouldn't cost more that 2 dollars a month to be apart of this. Yall are absolutely awful.
I have tried using this service a few years ago and it was great! This time my email came up as if I had never used the service, so I had to start it all over again. Unfortunately, I never got the email verification after many attempts. I tried to correspond with the chat (window person) for authorization to email; got nothing. So I updated my membership and hopefully this will work.
I feel like I'm flying by the seat of my pants. No real instructions or guidance thru the many steps
This is the worst service I have ever gotten from a renting service. As soon as I post what I want, I get bombarded with scammers. Just ridiculous and none of them were legitimate. I posted my phone number so that renters or leasers may contact me and it was my biggest mistake ever. Now they not only want to scam me but they want to know if they can be my friends. Like wtf!
Good app for looking for apartments or room for rent
App is not the greatest. Neither is the website. Needs a lot of work to be more user friendly.
Expensive for what it is. More than $1/day? Hope I find someone on this otherwise I'd say it's a waste
I don't understand why I have to pay for this service? If it's just for order confirmation that seems unnecessary

Answer: These are untrue statements. We have asked our many satisfied customers to post their positive experiences about Roomster to counteract the negative, and mostly untrue statements posted about us. If you notice that Sitejabber has negative reviews of almost every company doing business in the united states. If it was all true, there would be no business left and everyone would be out of work. People never write good reviews, people love to be negative. Its sad.
Answer: Hi Aminah, Roomster did not post that ad on Craigslist, we did not create that link and there fore we can not offer support for it. This looks to be one of our affiliates, who should not be doing this. We will be removing this person from our affiliate program. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Answer: That makes little to no sense. Undeleted? What does that even mean? N you want to create an account after you deleted it? Go ahead.
