The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by consistent complaints regarding product reliability and customer service. Customers frequently express dissatisfaction with the performance of devices, citing issues such as poor video quality and connectivity problems. Additionally, the customer service experience is notably negative, with many reviewers reporting long wait times, unhelpful representatives, and inadequate support for troubleshooting. While some users appreciate the initial functionality of the products, the recurring themes of frustration and disappointment suggest a pressing need for the company to enhance both product quality and customer service responsiveness to improve overall customer satisfaction.

I would not buy this joke of a product or recommend it it is crap my Internet is six feet away with no obstruction but still miss people at the door
Had the rinf first gen and upgraded to the second gen Ring 2 hoping it would solve all the issues with the first one. It hasn't!
Tired of the slow connections, the constant failure of the chime losing connection to the doorbell and the overpriced storage costs.
After receiving a tirade from a missed tradesperson who rang the doorbell three times, whilst i was in the other room. Cannot hear the outside bell from inside, and the chime failed to ring inside, nor did the mobile alert. I said why didn't the person actually knock on the door or call my mobile phone - but why is this necessary with a $350 doorbell setup?
Tried to cancel my ring plans and even that didn't work, so I'm now, once again on phone support with Ring as nothing is actually easy with this system and have wasted so much time with their methods of connection, especially the chime to the doorbell.
No more Ring for me and dubious if any wireless camera/door system on shared cloud storage will perform well enough.
We have had a ring doorbell for 3 years. Last week we had to replace our router and then we needed to reinstall our ring doorbell. However, we needed a code for the reinstallation. When we called the company they would not give us a code and said we had to pay $59 for the code.
We did not ask for replacements parts, but only asked for a computer code to reinstall the doorbell. We refused to pay the $59 ransom and now we can't use our doorbell.
Beware: They cheat their customers. Buy another brand that is more honorable.
Simply avoid ring products, and definately do not subscribe for the paid service, you still have to download and manage your videos on a monthly basis or the security footage you're relying on will be deleted providing 0 security.
Absolute worst customer service
Absolute worst customer service. I received half of my order. Half of what I received were not the more expensive items I ordered. After an hour over the phone explaining the four incorrect items and missing items no less than 5 times to a foreign representative who does not listen or understand clearly enunciated English the only answer I was given was that the cheaper items I received will work the same and the other half of my items will ship 7-9 weeks from now although I've already paid for them. They shipped from Amazon although I ordered from ring and Amazon shows that I can have them tomorrow if ordered today. What a fine hustle they are running. Cheap items or no items if you pay in advance.
HOLD TIME is horrible, hours and no one comes on from tech support. This is a good indicator that the product is a problem. Purchased a refurbished camera and NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. They blame the internet and that is the least of the problems. False promises of support. Once they get you to purchase the item and they have heir money they could care less. BEWARE, BEWARE of the false stories, the camera has to work to protect you.
We have the doorbell and also a spotlight. Bought at different times.
The doorbell, when we first got it. Worked great. Was able to view live feeds fairly quickly, was able to answer the actual doorbell when someone rang it.
But as time went on we noticed that alerts would be minutes after the event. Sometimes no alert at all of someone standing in front of the door.
Spotlight:
Same kind of thing, worked great for a few months, then just started to not work. Live events, forget it. If it ever connects, it's minutes later. We have it set to 'human only' but all night long it will alert of a plant blowing in the wind. We have now noticed that the light will come on for no reason, and just stay on. We turn it off, it comes right back on. But it won't come on when there is an alert? What good is that?
Both units can never seem to stay connected to the wifi, or it complains of it being too slow (we have a fiber connection). We also have a chime and it still doesn't connect when we try and view a live view.
We are done with these products. As soon as Google comes out with a spotlight, we will be trying them.
Ring is just terrible and they seem to have no plans on fixing their stuff.
My equipment stopped working months ago, and they can tell we have no active devices. We've been out of our home for 6 months after a flood. I was charged again for a yearly plan that was supposed to have been cancelled for equipment we don't even have anymore. They won't give a full refund because I'm 7 days into the annual plan that I was not notified that was renewing and had already cancelled. Don't waste your time or money with them! Terrible way to do business.
You typed: "Horrible product… it goes offline all the time. I have already talked to support and they tell me it is our WiFi… so now we need to update WiFi to get the ring to work correctly. This is Not a good product because this was not disclosed at time of purchase. It goes a off line about every 2 or 3 days most times. I'm very unhappy with the product.
I got a new Ring device today - the floodlight camera pro. It set up according to their procedure, and then immediately went offline. I rebooted the router, and no joy. So I removed the device from my account, and tried to install it again. The blue light failed to blink, which was step one after pressing the button. Then, it said "if all else fails", press and hold a button for 20 seconds. Okay. I did. Again, nothing. I called their customer service, and they demanded that I "validate my account," essentially getting a 6 digit pin, so that THEY wouldn't have to answer invalid account callers. Whether online or in their app, I got "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again." I did, multiple times. No six-digit pin. So now I'm waiting in the queue for the unwashed, listening not even to Muzak - I'm listening to a 20 minute SALES PITCH!
Amazon, you are REALLY botching this.
I have been having issues accessing my camera footage and live stream for two days I spoke to a representative who is called Real C she told me they were doing an update to the camera system that would affect the live streaming and the recordings, however she said it was resolved so I shouldn't have an issue.
I told her I had screenshot notifications of the issue past the update and she told me there was issues with my cellular phone or Wi-Fi. The security cameras are on to WiFi separate from each other, I checked sporadically over a two day period with the same issues, I also insured I had full or strong cellular strength.
I've been with RING for quite some time and this is the first time this issue has happened concurrently for this period of time.
She said she did not have any way to document the issues I was having that I was able to verify and the only way to make an official complaint was to write it down myself somewhere, but I could not speak to a representative about it.
Purchasing the ring product was very easy and I had great experiences with other representatives however the last couple of weeks I've had less then remarkable experiences with three representatives two of them were supervisors
I had a ring doorbell that quit working so replaced. I recently got an message telling that my account would renew and I would be charged for the new subscription. I tried to log into the app on my phone. Because it is a new phone it wants to send a code to my old phone, which I don't have, to let me log in. I called customer service and they told me I needed to be home and press my ring doorbell, which as I mentioned quit working and I don't even have. They refuse to allow me to cancel my subscription without the doorbell. Avoid this hack company!
I purchased a stick up camera. Within 4 months the speaker went out on it. I have been on 3 phone calls with technicians (2 of them were hard to understand) and have spent over 2 hours trying to get my camera working. They told me the speaker wasn't working because it was too far away from the router, but I had the same issue when I put it 2 feet away from the router. They had me adjust settings on my phone that messed it up so bad that it wouldn't connect to my car blue tooth without trouble shooting my phone for that issue. When I called the 3rd time and refused to let them mess up my phone again by changing my blue tooth settings, they said they could not honor the warranty by sending me a replacement unless I went through the process again. So, I have decided to replace my Ring with another company and will never purchase another Ring product again.
A lot of their products require you to spend big bucks on other products just to get the one you want to work, they don't offer just the base station by itself and I wasn't going to spend $200 on product I didn't want or need. You can barely understand anyone on the phone and they could really care less. I recently got locked out of my account and they are making me do back flips to get back into my account even though I pay them for the recordings. It has been 2 days of constant calling and I am still locked out of my ring account. I wish I could get my money back on the 2 cameras I got.
Do not buy from ring, there is much better and cheaper options elsewhere.
This thing doesn't work. Won't stay connected to chime, if you can ever get the chime to work in the first place. I'm ripping it out.
After buying 9 Ring cameras and 5 of their solar panels not to mention 9 extra batteries, I am unable to contact a single English speaking customer service representative in the United States! All I want to ask is why they sent me the incorrect color.
Additionally why do my cameras arbitrarily go completely black? How is it that a person can walk up to my door and the camera doesn't even record it? Isn't that the entire reason we buy these things? Fully charged, solor connected, all settings are correct for frequent 120 seconds recording with full preview and I get nothing! Yesterday it recorded fine…I think but now I wonder just how much is not being recorded
Don't waste your time, buy something else. After a year my $#*! just stopped working and all they say is "oh sorry" basically I'm just SOL…
Told that product would arrive in 5 days. Taking more than 2 months. Customer service worst. Ever!
I purchased our ring device 1.5 years ago and since then it has been a total pain. It goes offline for months at a time then randomly comes back online… I've emailed and called Ring 10+ times and they give me the same song and dance, it never works then they just wait until you are out of warranty then say you are SOL. Terrible product, choose others.
Ordered Ring doorbell in April and had it installed by Ontech, their recommended installer. The device continually disconnects from my cell phone. Unfortunately I missed the 30 day return policy so now I have a paperweight. I was going to install the Ring camera with spotlight but wanted to wait to see how the doorbell worked. Glad I did otherwise I would have been screwed out of hundreds of dollars more. I wouldn't buy another Ring product and hopefully this review will deter other consumers from purchasing Ring products as you will be sorely disappointed. I'll write to the BBB to advise them about the crappy products they're selling but I'm out $100 for the paperweight and another $100 for the installation.
Answer: Most annoying product ever. Doesn't work but almost does. This makes you constantly fool with it thinking you maybe possibly actually got it to do something similar to what they advertise. But in the end you will be back to square one with a pricey piece of crap! Then after hrs of listening to customer services b. S. you realize you've been had. But it doesn't end there. You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
Answer: It does not work the way it is presented on T. V. The inability to immediately respond "LIVE" to an event renders it useless.
