Useless
June 30, 2023

Only one star because I can't leave anything lower. Impossible to navigate, can't make more than one reservation under one name, denied every card I have even though I used my primary one earlier. Tried updating my address 3 times, no go, even though it says update successful. Your site makes me want to give up camping altogether.

Just awful
June 28, 2023

Sites cost $20,2 night stay comes out to $70 with $30 in fees from Reserve America. We encountered a camper in our spot, they said there's nothing that can done on their end. We had to cancel once and only received about 10% of our total payment. This is an absolute scam and monopoly. It's very sad.

As of their new site update I can't access the site through the Safari browser. If I go in through Google I'm fine. Also the campground map for available sites is no longer the same. Did want show what's available on chosen dates.
Worst update I have seen! It's terrible!

The online experience sucks. I guess this is the quality you get when the government works with a monopoly.

Very disappointed by the maintenance. The grass/clover has not been mowed this year. It was up to our knees. Camp sites were not maintained to standards as in previous years. We pay for what? State can't afford 3 gallons of gas y to o mow?

They dumped my account on 6/6/2023. I can no longer access my account even after resetting my password. On the road and can not make reservations.

I started using this website and app a couple of years ago. It worked just fine, and I made reservations for campgrounds all over the country. I used it in March or April to book some travel this fall. Still worked. Then I went onto the app last night and it was totally and irretrievably broken. I reset my password about 17 times (literally) and yet kept getting error messages. The website was better, but if I'm in my car on my way to a campground, I'd much appreciate a working app. Meanwhile, their customer support is nonexistent. They have an SMS number to use, and a form to fill out, but good luck getting a response. I've called my state agency which owns the state campgrounds to report this fiasco and ask the state to switch to a system that actually works.

So many horrific problems with this company and i pray the government cuts ties with them in future
I mad rez on april 22 and just 4 days later i needed to cancel bc my rv broke down - they charged me $29 - cancellation not clear and is WAYYYY too greedy - you should be able to cancel for free with 24 hour notice but not these greedhogs!
So many examples of them feeing you to death and tricky cancellation policys and change confusion. I stayed at ponderosa park in idaho and their water tasted like it would catch fire - the poor staff was alarmed but no one could reimburse me - i couldn't fill my tank with water and well you know
Reservation america makes camping and just trying to enjoy some nature a pain in the butt! They also don't make it clear if parenthesis are used around your refunded money or money they're keeping! I'll comb through all tomorrow oh! But they charge you tao get help on the phone too! State parks need to quit using these guys - they are complete robbers! They've taken over $160 off of 2 cancellations and i absolutely don't understand their math or policies. Bad eggs all the way around!

The first thing that pops up is to turn off your security so they can streamline your experience, well duh! NO! Why gives these vultures anymore access to your finances, the next is that they won't let you reserve over 5 months in advance and if you do reserve on the 5 month day for more than just that DAY well you can't edit for 18 more days, kinda like a penalty! So all needs to be exact! Also they charge quite a bit for cancellations and you go on a blacklist for future reservations! The phone service is uneducated and snippy due to them not understanding the rules either! If you need to add a day you have to wait till it is in the 5 month day range, this is so backward thinking that you can't even edit your own reservation! Ugh what an unpleasant experience!

Ripped off scan
April 17, 2023

I've used them plenty before but I had to call them because I needed to change a date their site says it's $7 to make a reservation change. After calling them to make a change the total came up to 15$. When I asked why where is the extra fees when your website says 7$. The woman became very short snarky I actually could hear her sigh she was in a big hurry to get me off the phone when I told her to look up the information so I could look it up where all this extra fee money came from she could not do it she transferred me to someone else. The guy I literally said oh well various fees for this and that and I said what exactly is this and that your website says $7 and nothing about additional fees listed he said well and then he hangs up the phone. So basically it's fraud they're charging you for fees that are non-existent.

I think this company might be the worst one I've dealt with. I just called to cancel a partial reservation and it took 3 different people lying about a policy before I was able to make the changes. All 3 reps were rude and condescending - thankful that Oregon State Parks are finally getting rid of these clowns.

Don't waste your time & money
March 17, 2023

The website is just awful. Horrible UI, hardly anything is intuitive. Customer service is entirely unhelpful and disappointing.

RA expects you to read 8 paragraphs of footnote "policies" or you're SOL when changing or cancelling a reservation. I'm out hundreds of dollars due to their deceitful practices and will be disputing the charge on my credit card. Absolutely ridiculous.

The campground my family has frequented for 30+ years is hosted on this godforsaken website, so we're forced to continue giving them our money. I really wish OR state parks would use something else. They're truly out to take as much money from you as possible. Scumbags.

EDIT: Thankfully, I was refunded most of my money as a "one time courtesy" through the OR Parks and Recreation Department.

Reserve America are Crooks
February 24, 2023

I just read something from them that says they allow changes. This is a flat out lie. They have a link that indicates "changes" but no changes are allowed. If for example you wanted to change a cabin ten minutes after you booked it and it was for the same day, made two weeks in advance, these crooks will steal your money, taking one full day and then taxing you on nothing and also adding a cancellation fee when what you actually did was make a change even if it's to a more expensive cabin. To make matters worse your credit card won't stand behind you even if they follow their own rules that say you won't be charged if you received no good or service. In my case this was Discover Card but other CCs may be more honest than them. I will never do business with Reserve America and I won't be renting any more cabins in Nebraska either. As far far as I'm concerned they are all crooks.

WEBSITE NEVER WORKS
February 17, 2023

Everytime I visit the site, its riddled with errors, locked-up mouse clicks, "we've encountered a problem" messages. You want to reserve a campsite: good luck. They're ALWAYS unavailable, but I know they're not. JUNK SITE, why do our state parks bother using this useless reservation vehicle...

My title pretty much says it all. If you change your reservation for the same dates on the same day, they make you pay them for a whole night plus a cancellation fee, plus sales (a "tax" on virtually nothing you purchased). Say for example you discover you want/need a different cabin. This won't be considered a change like normal people would view it. Even it's done on the same day for the same reservation dates and a more expensive cabin. Their own cancelation/change policy doesn't address this because if you make a change, they will call it a "cancellation". Don't use them. They are crooks.

Due to an unforseen life event I had to cancel a Florida camping reservation made through Reserve America. It has been over a month since I canceled. I've made at least 4 inquiries asking when I might expect to get my money refunded. I get the run around every time. They tell me they're going to issue a check and they don't know why they can't credit the card I paid with. During every call, I've been told it's going to take 5-10 days and "please call back if you don't see it by then". Still nothing. I will never make a reservation through Reserve America again and plan to contact the Federal Trade commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to find the best source to file an official complaint against them.

Greatest ap
November 16, 2022

I have camped in a few states using ReserveAmerica. I have been extremely satisfied...I check out the sites and their maps to see where I want to be and check what is available...I will be reserving for summer 23 very soon. This sure beats the old days with first come first serve and never knowing if there would be a good site left. Love this ap...
