Terrible service. DO NOT use this money transfer, they repeatedly say they need more and more ID and personal information, which will be used for Identity fraud. Then they cancel your transaction and suspend your account so you cannot give feedback
I was sending money for 3 months problem. Then all of the sudden the people I send it to cannot pick up the funds and customer service blames my bank. I spoke to customer service and they can't understand me and I can't understand them. I speak English amd Spanish. Now I have lost 3 transactions a total of $250. Go with western union.

My advise do not use Remitly to send money I sent 500 usd from my own Citibank acount to my south American own acounts and it's the worse experience you can go through I've so mishandled that I can't explain you. I've used transferwise always and in less than 1 hours funds are in every acount I was tempted to try because of the exchange rate believe me don't go there

Don't use Remitly! This company has been very fast but with my most current transaction. To modify takes freaking days instead of the promised few hours. I requested to cancel the transaction and it has been 5 days now and no updates. I did another transaction for home delivery and it has been 2 days now and their customer service is stating the system is down and there's a problem with their receiving bank. You paid them express fee but you have to wait for the crow to turn white for a result. The customer service sucks. Call agents from different countries and will say the same words and line of conversations. I asked just to cancel the second transaction and guess what " if you cancel it will take 10 business days " just to process. There is nobody that you can escalate the matter to. If you love the people you're sending money to. Don't use Remitly.

Incredibly slow. And the customer service which I contact almost every month doesn't seem to understand anything. I deposit my money within the hour but it takes very long to reflect on their account. So it ends up getting canceled. Then their customer service just really s*cks. I have been a remitly customer for nearly 3 years. This is my last straw. I'm so happy transferwise finally added the bank that i send to back home. They're faster and have better exchange rates. I'm deleting remitly forever as soon as I get my refund.
To remitly: please train your staff well with the most basic issues. Don't just teach them to apologise. It's so annoying

Absolutely obnoxious conversation with so-called Customer Service after waiting on hold several minutes to respond to their request for more information. The questions were intrusive -- why am I sending the money, what is my relationship with the recipient, how long have I known him, etc. When I reached the point where I declined to provide any more information, the agent canceled the transaction "at my request" since I didn't want to describe the relationship. I was trying to help a friend in Nepal who has been unable to work throughout the Covid epidemic because his job relies on tourism. No company has the right to ask such personal questions. I will never patronize them.

Incredibly good experience with Remitly, support between June 7 and 11. I sent 800 euros to my wife in Saint Petersburg for surgery on June 11. A day later, after sending I received an email that the amount was on hold. It finally worked out that the bank requires middle name as I understand many not use this in Russia, anyway the Russian bank declined and ended up with stress money was blocked for some period. But Remitly US support was amazing, they did all to correct it and even confirmed they will change the process a bit for customer to avoid next time issues to validate you must give the middle name as well. Very impressed by how they convert the stress we got with the Russian receivers bank to handle all and used other bank and got our money paid out. Big thanks to the support for this. Absolute amazing.

I make a mistake by sending my wife some money through remitly.
I send money through Zoom and get the cash delivery whiting hours, but wanted to try remitly and didn't like that the transfer will take 9 days to be delivered to my wife and got notified of the delivery timing until after y summit it and got my transaction receipt. 3 days later I was told by a representative that it does take that long because of I set up my account with my bank info, no with my credit or debit card. Thumbs down to REMITLY.

Don't Use Remitly. This company is scam. Their customer service is worst don't know where the money is. They hung up whenever we called them to ask about our money. Spread this don't use Remitly, we are having a hell of bad time. They give you hours and hours of time and still no positive answer from them. I used two different bank cards. Each time "some "suspicious activity" was noticed and the transaction was cancelled. I went on chat with their support only to wait for their response about 5 minutes each time I typed something in. The person simply copy-pasted the same messages I received after submitting my transfer request. I told them they wasted close to 20 minutes of my time and ended the chat.
I tried their phone support and got to talk to a woman with a very strong (I'm assuming) Indian accent. I could barely understand her. Same story. She would "check on something" time after time and tell me the same stuff I already got before. No way to solve the issue or even learn what the problem was in the first place. I was told I will hear back from them within 24 or 48 hours (don't remember now). Needless to say, they never called or emailed me.
I would say, their customer service will not solve anything for you. Just because they pick up the phone reasonably fast, doesn't mean it will result with you getting any help.
That's my experience with Remitly. My warning to others: use at your own peril.

I've been sending money to the Philippines with Remitly and have been impressed with great exchange rates, reasonable fees, and fast transfers.
I discovered a charge on my debit card account for Remitly. I have never used their service and someone, somehow sent money from my account. Obviously they do not have adequate security measures in place and judging by other reviews I expect my bank is not going to have much luck trying to contact them.

I was never confident about using Remitly but a friend suggested me to send money through Remitly convincing me for a better rate and quick service. Well I sent money on April 7th and the expected date of delivery was April 13 but after multiple attempts, for 3 days the recipient was unable to pick up the money. The recipient bank completely was ignorant about the transaction. I decided to cancel the transaction and hit by another surprise, that I would get my money back after two weeks. I would never use Remitly again.
