The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from perceived censorship and biased moderation practices. Many users express frustration over account management issues, such as difficulties in deleting accounts and unjust bans, which contribute to a sense of being silenced. While some appreciate the platform's diverse content and sense of community, the overwhelming sentiment is one of disillusionment with the site's environment, described as toxic and unwelcoming. This dichotomy highlights a pressing need for improved moderation transparency and user support to enhance the overall user experience.

Essentially, they violate their own rules. I signed up. Tried to comment on a few posts with basic kind words and kept getting a bot telling me I can't participate with a new account under 5 days old and then referred me to read their rules. I read their rules and no such rule exists.
Ibitts Newhall's (as principal of Ibitts Newhall Consulting), behavior, communication and possible non-disclosed conflicts of interest, are highly questionable and create unnecessary duress, risk and harm to parents and their children, that she offers advice to. Screaming at a parent on a call to jump on a single, must have only opening in a facility she works with. Texting franticly after the call to make a decision.
Then offering limited to no availability for a follow up phone conversation for a week if the decision is not made. Most importantly, despite being asked not to have any or recurrent discussions with a child's therapist, Ibitts, immediately disregarded the request and continued to contact have the therapist, resulting in further redirected pressure the parent, to have their child placed in the respective facility. The Therapist was also requested to not discuss the child's details or concerns at all with Ibitts Newhall, and that too was disregarded thereafter by both Ibitts Newhall and the Therapist, with whom Ibitts has had a long-standing consulting relationship with. Taking advantage of a parent's vulnerability in the moment, less attentive to the more concerning health and social determinants of the child. Ibitts Newhall Consulting's professional and business practices, are highly likely in violation of HIPPA guidelines and very suspicious for undisclosed and atypical business and professional relationships-affiliations.
Reddit is a toxic place with a very prominent hive mind mentality. There is a lot of petty arguing where people will either agree with you in numbers or disagree with you in numbers. People can randomly comment or downvote you which in my opinion gives way too much of an opportunity for bullying or harassment because you can be downvoted wether you're right or wrong and the people doing it can do it completely randomly. I've seen numerous times where false information is praised and correct information is downvoted and pushed aside.
The mods of Reddit are also losers who are bored with themselves and use the site to power trip and make themselves feel better. It's the same mentality as a cop. These losers will ban you for disagreeing with them or putting them in their place. They are also extremely sensitive (big surprise) and can ban you for nearly any reason. If you're a kiss $#*! and suck up to the mods then they'll let you get away with certain things but if not then your account is at risk for being banned and when it happens it will happen randomly and you'll be given no way of appealing it or anything. You'll just be banned and that's that. My first account was banned because I stuck up for myself against another member who was trying to bully me, and my second account was banned for literally no reason. I just received a ban notice and that was that.
Never again will I waste time with Reddit or the fat, mothers couch sitting mods that they allow to run the place. When you have incompetent/sensitive people in power then it makes for a really unreliable experience. Reddit has ruined itself as far as im concerned the site is known as being extremely toxic and unreliable and nothing has ever been implemented to try and change any of that. They just allow the 5 to 1 bullying and power tripping mods to continue ruining the place
Most cringiest place on the internet. Just be glad its a place where all the losers and incels congregate so you know where to avoid them
Edit - i wanted to know what others think of reddit and omg it's worse than you can imagine. If this doesn't convince you to avoid reddit idk what will:
1. https://bit.ly/3Z3mKkd (quora post about reddit abuse history)
2. https://bit.ly/3losWWh (hacker news post about reddit abuse history)
They claimed I was a bot and I got banned from my favourite community. Moderators just smack the ban hammer whenever they feel it.
Made by incels, for incels. That's it. That's the review. Don't join unless you are a young white dude, otherwise you'll be perma banned in due time.
I want reddit to fix this problem I post something after getting a few upvotes I get banned I hate it and I want the moderators to stop banning my posts for no reason and the fact that they thought I was posting something 18+ when it was a normal green screen video a youtuber told me to makes me understand that why won't the other posts get banned every single one of my posts got banned for no reason even if they're for kids.
Reddit is basically an aggregator of various hateful and polarizing topics that are moderated by "subject matter experts" that are bullies with low confidence. The topic doesn't matter, for example visit r/publicfreakouts and you see is black women having massive panic attempts and destroying property. In other words, the hateful content further perpetuates negative stereotypes of black woman and loarizes users. Users than start behaving in similarly in the comment sections and are banned. In other words, Reddit makes a business of having users post shock and awe videos that highlight human suffering and ban people for questioning said content ore responses. Reddit is depravity unleashed. Disgusting
Luckily this site doesn`t cost anything. Most users are angry toxic Fks. Do not try to use this to hook up with women, the few you talk to just want money or are complete flakes that stop talking to you.
I was told my responses violated sexual misconduct. I don't respond like that and never have. I never entered topics like that or gave responses like that. Either they have bad phishing or bad mods.
If you get a new account you're automatically unable to use most of the app until you have enough "karma." But the way you get karma is by doing things they're already stopping you from being able to do. So you have to spend forever finding very specific communities that will let you post. And then if you try too many times in a row to get "karma" through posting, they'll shadowban your entire account without even letting you know. And then you have to go through the horrible process of dealing with one of their incompetent power hungry admins to get it back. Maybe after a week you can use the app normally.
And even for long time users, the experience is horrible. Extremely sensitive community that will ban you from subreddits left and right for no reason. Sooner or later your entire account may be banned. One of mine was for literally one single post.
The entire thing is just walking on eggshells. Would give it a negative rating if possible.
There is no room for sarcasm or cynicism, let alone honest criticism of controversial issues on this so called discussion platform…questioning any subreddits particular status quo got me promptly banned from it without any warning…when I questioned the decision of the moderators Reddit banned me permanently for "harassing moderators"… this must be the absolute worst social media platform for meaningful discussion of ideas and opinions!
Reddit is an often overlooked cesspool on the internet, but it's a dangerous site. There are people on there encouraging adults to give into their mental illness and wear adult diapers, live their lives as "animals trapped in the body of a human," and suicide subreddits where people actually encourage each other to commit suicide.
Twitter and Facebook get a lot of attention, but it's the anonymity of Reddit that makes it so dangerous. People go down a rabbit hole of mental illness together, and the site only moderates to keep their sicknesses thriving. The motto is "be respectful of..." someone who's killing themselves with drugs, someone who wants to kill themselves, someone who thinks they're an actual horse who was born in the wrong body.
I hope that in the coming years, the government will pay more attention to the pornography that's on Reddit and the disgusting Porn subreddits that anyone of any age can access. What's sickest of all is that they allow panhandlers and outright scammers to take advantage of their own community and will ban someone for outing a scammer but leave the scammer's account intact and preying on other people (even elderly people).
No self-respecting person would join most of these communities. They cloak the underground of the site with what looks like benign news posts and basic political debate. In reality, it's rife with mental illness, pornography, and barely-legal women trying to sell their pictures to old men. Government, do your job.
It's a bull$#*! app and site. Don't recommend it. It deletes all my posts for "safety" when they were just normal posts. Screw it, a very useless app
It's cool because there's a collection of probably every possible topic you can think of. However, you realize most of the content and information there is bogus, and the posters there are parroting information incorrectly, so beware of what you're intaking. Lots of toxic communities and posters as well (pretty much the majority of the site and users), as it's the Internet and everyone feels brave to be hostile and toxic through a computer.
Just like twitter, youtube and facebook, Reddit is the same Left controlled Rag. Moderators are allowed to make their own rules based on personnel bias. Management control does NOT exist.
Where do i start? It's just awful - political moderation, brainwashing, echo chambers, targeting advertising - they've got it all. All of the worst aspects of social media from the 2010-2020 time period wrapped up into one giant diaper. You will get IP banned for criticizing china, russia, whatever - although you will gain tons of "karma" (basically a social credit score) if you trash talk the right governments. Its just completely biased and while it used to serve as a repository for information in the early 2010's, this has absolutely and entirely evaporated over the years. It has more misinformation than facebook, more animosity than twitter, and is almost entirely owned and operated by political and financial agendas. Anyone who gets their information from reddit is exactly like the next person who does, and these are some of the most uneducated yet confident people in the world right now. The US government needs to take a very, VERY hard look at reddit just as they have with TikTok. I think reddit has a ton of BS that they are hiding from the general public in terms of how their algorithms work, the way they ban and moderate posts based on politics, etc. this might be the worst site on the internet right now.
My post was deleted for violating not one but THREE policies which was an absolute joke! I had regular, simple questions like any other you would see on Reddit. They tried to say that you couldn't take a "consensus" but that is pretty much any question - gathering information from people. Of course everyone is going to be unique. Duh. I reported it not to be mean and mentioned it wasn't about the moderator but the policies and that I see those types of questions regularly on Reddit anyways, so what gives basically? And they were just flat-out rude and as if they didn't even read what I wrote. Not even going to bother with that platform.
I just deleted my Reddit account. I was permanently banned from a page because I shared a You Tube video. The page was for single parents and there were a lot of people talking about being lonely. Statically, people who are lonely, especially during the holidays, they usually get depressed and the risk of suicides are MUCH higher. The video that I shared was Everybody Hurts by R.E.M. The extremely ignorant moderators immediately banned me permanently from that page for the video. When I tried to explain it, the ignorantly thought that I was encouraging suicide. The song is about how everybody hurts, everybody cries, everybody has difficult times in their lives but to not give up and to hang on. They weren't interested in the song at all or its meaning. They were just obsessed with bullying me for posting it and ignorantly accused me of encouraging people to kill themselves.
The people of Reddit have no concept of reality or the real world. They probably live with mommy and daddy and either don't want a real job (which they'd probably get fired from very quickly anyway) or they can't get a real job (no surprise there), so they moderator social media platforms and bully people about things that they don't understand and block people because they don't understand things about the real world. These Snowflakes live in their own fantasy world with rainbows and sunshine and nothing bad ever happens. In other words, their safe spaces.
Reddit is THE MOST UN- USER FRIENDLY I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCE! REALLY …… DO YOU REALLY NEED TO Persecute everyone under a tiny microscope? GIVE ME A F****** BRAKE! Gonewild IS THE WORST USER FRIENDLY! Stay AWAY From That Site!
Answer: Absolutely cancer. Unless you're an NPC without a brain of your own.
Answer: Use sitejabber, much better. Since they don't make you jump through hoops to post a review and they don't censor negative reviews. TONS of bad sites online. TONS of corrupt sites. Clean up the internet. Break up these monopolistic companies.
Answer: Don't trust reviews from reddit because the site is censored to get rid of negative reviews. Censored by corrupt moderators and admins.
