The overall reputation of Quora appears to be declining, with numerous customers expressing dissatisfaction about the platform's moderation policies and perceived bias in content removal. Many users reported experiences of censorship, particularly regarding political views, leading to frustrations over a lack of open dialogue. Despite these concerns, some users still appreciate Quora for its diverse range of topics and the opportunity to engage with a global audience. However, the prevalence of scams and low-quality content has raised significant concerns about the platform's integrity and reliability, suggesting a need for improved moderation and user support.

Quora Digest is very annoying. I don't even have Quora, yet they send me mail. I have over 30 unread spam messages from them. They have sent me them over the last month or so. I have even blocked them, but somehow, they keep getting into my inbox, even though I have marked them as spam. I have replied to them to say that I'm not interested, but they just keep sending me this stupid stuff that I'm not interested in.
Have a safe and awesome day.
I've have comments or posts deleted for having 'hate speech". One for asking how othera got home from surgery with out friends or family (since i discovered proper medical transport services exist for these people) and once for saying houses ard still affordable before the age of 30 but it won't be anything close to your dream house.
Also i get spammed with about 30 emails a day on topics i don't care about even though i send them to spam and tried to unsubscribe about 5 times.
Noticed they have started trying to charge to see certain answers to questions too, even when the original author discovers it and says they wrote it for free.
I don't think it's a bad site but there's nothing much good about it.
I was on Quora from about 2016. I am still there, but hardly ever post or answer questions. I just got fed up with the draconian and Kafkaesque moderation. I don't know if the moderators were bots or just real pompous Americans. Possibly both. I soon learned to block negative comments, but the trolls would get by that by posting on other people's answers to the same question. I was always polite, except for when one commenter questioned whether I could have been an inspector for both Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (UK government regulatory bodies). I am on Linkedin and post under my own name, and my CV is there for all to see. I was a special terms inspector and consultant for both institutions and was qualified in both child care and adults care, as most qualified social workers of my age would be, and in any case had a post graduate Diploma in Education as well as the standard post graduate Qualification in Social Work. The troll couldn't even spell Ofsted (he spelt it "Ofstead") but he riled me enough for me to call him out on it. Yes, I know that's a mistake with trolls, but there you are. The troll thought it amusing to report me to the moderators and my account was suspended and I couldn't even get back my thousands of answers. So they took the side of the troll, despite the troll having virtually no other posts and me having millions of upvotes. I took the view that the troll had done me a favour and stopped me wasting my time on Quora. When I started with Quora in 2016 they made a big thing of you having to be a genuine real person. Well, if you look at it now, it's all joke names and joke questions and joke answers, interspersed with malevolent trolls' comments. It's gone the way of Yahoo answers and Twitter - the same reason why Elon Musk pulled out of buying Twitter. It's a real shame as I used to enjoy the old Quora, but it has gone so far downhill it's now a waste of time. Glorified clickbait fodder.
I should add that there is virtually no testing of the validity or usefulness of the answers, so if it's something practical you want to know, look elsewhere, or at least be very careful of following some of the advice.
Quora is a niche site that features site generated questions the mindless drones use to convey what they think never citing any authority for their answer. You will see people guessing at answers, wishful thinking instead of fact, and second hand stories going as best answer. This site has been caught stealing users info. If this site isn't at your level feel free to send your emails over to the spam folder.
Honestly I've seen a couple good answers but its full of pretentious self centred idiots. Who will try and rudely attack your replies even when you have actually agreed with their comments. Its full of wealthy who can't see or understand the poorer or less fortunate in societies view. Which makes in my opinion them the less knowledgable
Too many individuals who appear threatened by all non-mainstream views and will automatically respond with hostility and derision. There is a palpable air of anger running throughout this site which I feel is a sad but true reflection of what the rest of society as a whole is like at the present time. Not a place for open minded and intellectual people to exchange thoughts and so with regret I will not be using this site any longer. Such a shame really as the platform has so much potential.
Used to be useful, now is just pro-US propaganda. Used to read military topics and get excited about the knowledge shared, now you can´t read a single top answer on this topics that isn´t toxic uninformative propaganda.
I have been on Quora a few times and each time I became discouraged by the blatant political bias and targeting committed by the moderators for the site and eventually deactivate my account. I've had people directly insult me for no other reason then them not liking my political affiliation or beliefs based off my answers and replies with no response or consequences from the mod team. However, I've called out the insults and end up having my comments mass reported and deleted for "breaking" their selectively enforced policies. The only redeeming quality this overtly biased joke of a site has is some of the small communities. And even still, those communities have overly antagonistic and insulting questions leveled at them on a daily basis with, as you can guess, no response or action by the mod team. All I can say is find a site that both respects it's users enough to enforce their rules across the board regardless of political views and don't directly moderate against certain users based off otherwise innocuous comments that don't fit their blatantly biased mods views and results in selective enforcement of their policies.
If you post something here that others don't agree with, you are called unintelligent or worse. I know I am not stupid, but being called this really hurts. Stay away from sites where you will be put down and bullied.
29 five-star reviews as opposed to 435 (not counting mine) one-star reviews, need I say more?
If you're anti-American, anti-Trump, a left-wing fascist loon you'll love Quora and you'll be able to say anything you want, if you're not, you'll be attacked and moderated viciously. Don't waste your time.
I deleted my account yesterday; I got the same euphoric feeling I get when I take a big dump.
Quorum banned me without a warning and nearly all my content was uplifted and positive they just barely me and removed all me posts. They kept my Space even though they can't upload or ask questions.
They allowed the most moronic idiot questions so strongly that it blows the mind. Yet i want to get my content in on the internet I will help the creat my own site
I initially had high hopes for the site, as when I first joined, it seemed like a place where people would go to actually share valuable information and experiences, and in a constructive and friendly way.
But I was wrong.
The so called Be Nice; Be Respectful policy, while great in theory, is used as a weapon by so many users on the site to silence those who have the temerity to disagree with them. It is applied entirely arbitrarily, and blatant abuse by Top Writers in comment sections are often ignored by the site moderators. Are they even real people?
Even those who do follow the BNBR policy can find ways around it. You can be as rude, condescending, and insulting as you want, provided you don't actually call people names or directly insult them. Nobody but a small handful of people on Quora is actually respectful, they're just a little more creative in the way they insult people.
All in all, this site sucks, and once I quit and deleted my profile, I felt as though I freed myself from a prison of some sort. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.
The Quora website is 100% biased to the left. They practice unlawful censorship on any post that has an independent or right opinion. It's truly sad to see them choose sides. I was hoping to find any unbiased and independent opinion website where all sides are allowed to have open and educational discussions. I guess I'll have to keep looking!
Apparently my post was removed by a moderator for "hate speech". Due to the fact my post was related to OP's question and as a reply to a comment that was VERY MUCH INDEED hate speech, I can honestly say I was nearly floored by this irony. Quara doesn't seem to have very reliable moderators.
Quora is a very snow-flakish platform, where sensorship is alive and prospering. It arbitrarily judges what is rude and what isn't or what is free speech and isn't. Their guidelines are not applied even-handedly. As a matter if fact, it is difficult to understand how they are applied because of the level of arbitrability.
My posts got deleted for "hate speech" (containing nothing of the sort). I appealed those deletions and then they changed their mind and said they were deleted due to their "Be Nice, Be Respectful policy".
Long story short, if someone reports you for hate speech, your posts are quickly deleted even if they contain nothing of the sort. Even if you are civil, your posts will still be deleted. It doesn't matter if your argument lays out a solid foundation based on logical points, just disagreeing with someone is a violation of Quora policy.
This is ridiculous. I was just asking if I was the only one who liked 2022. I don't UNDERSTAND why the heck ANYONE would do that!
I was flagged for, "hate speech" on the site, even though the post that I was responding to was a heck of alot more hate speech than my comment was, I tried to appeal the removal of my comment that was deemed "hate speech" but they just notified me that, "we will stand by our decision" lol, this is the new era of Chinese-style censorship, and removal of anything they deem as something they dont approve of.
Answer: Yes, the questions about penis size and virginity seems to sponsor endless discussion!
Answer: Because Google put Quora answers at the top of their search results when people search for a question they see the answer from Quora. Which is stupid because most answers on Quora aren't even correct lol. Idk why Google wants to promote that site, if they own it or they want to buy it and incorporate it into Google at some point. I think the site is awful and it should be shut down because it's just a propaganda site. You do not see Quora from any other search engine for example duckduckgo. But you see it in Google.
Answer: No, it is obviously leftist but it does on occasion allow questions or replies for short periods of time that are obviously uncomfortable to the "politicaly correct" crowd in a useless attempt to appear unbiased.
Answer: I honestly feel and highly suspect from certain traits that Quora pays Google to be high on the rank and they get *buddy buddy* with the government. Quora is essentially too big to fail. We no longer have capitalism but now live under governmentism which Trump pledges to end but can he? Does he really mean what he says? That is the million $ question.
