Pottery Barn Kids Reviews Summary

The company has garnered mixed feedback, with notable strengths in product quality and design, particularly for furniture and bedding. However, customer experiences reveal significant weaknesses in customer service, characterized by long delays, unresponsive support, and issues with order fulfillment and returns. Many customers express frustration over damaged items, inadequate assistance, and a lack of follow-through on promises made by representatives. This inconsistency in service quality has led to a growing sentiment of dissatisfaction, overshadowing the brand's previously strong reputation for quality and reliability. Overall, while the products are appreciated, the customer service approach requires urgent improvement.

I purchased a set of the organic rainbow sheets for my toddler and noticed that one pillowcase was torn at the seam. I contacted customer service four times, via phone and email. While they informed me that they would send a replacement, after three months, I have yet to receive one. I am sick of dealing with them. Not worth the money, and headache. Will never purchase from this company again. I bought a set of bedsheets from Target for a third of the price, with far better quality at that.

I ordered 2 beds, 2 bedside tables, 2 pairs of curtains, 2 rugs and a lamp. When I received everything all I got was a bunk bed and 2 rugs. The bunk bed wasn't even in good condition! I rang up pottery barn and they said the rest was coming in 2 weeks. Then when two weeks came by and then I rang them up again then they said it was coming in a month. The rest of the furniture still didn't come until Easter! I payed for deluxe and the men who delivered them said they were only dropping it off and were not intending to build it. I hate to say it they have really nice furniture but genuinely I hate people who waste people's time and I almost feel like going full out and scream at them.

I don't mind paying for quality but $59 & $79 for a SMALL toy baskets, $15 to ship, $10+ for wrapping. I've tried 8 ‘current' coupons. None work. Got something similar at TJ Maxx for a fraction of the cost.

Wasted 2 months
March 18, 2021

Just wasted 2 months on a nursery rocker for my nephew. When it was ordered it was in stock and I received a estimated arrival date. That date kept getting delayed. I called customer service 3 times. The first time they assured me that there were upcoming shipments of the product coming at the end of the week, and that since I had ordered so long ago, I would surely be next to receive the order. The second time I called (yesterday), some more time had passed and my order had now been further delayed. This customer service representative was confused and told me she could help with an investigation if I called back in two days. I was going to do that, but I logged into my account to view my order and it said "canceled." That's it. No email notifying me of the cancelation, I had to extensively track this whole process myself and not even a courtesy email that they had canceled the order without my consent. I called today to find out what happened. I spoke to one representative (who couldn't offer a solution), so I asked to speak to a supervisor (who also couldn't offer a solution). I asked if they could price match a similar item (from the same vendor). Guess what? They both gave two different excuses. One person told me that it was because the item I originally purchased was now on back-order. The supervisor said it was because it wasn't a "pottery barn" original and that it was not their fault. Not their fault that their representatives sent me on a two-month goose chase. Not their fault that they all continued to lie to me and offer false promises and different excuses. They told me they could offer 10% off but the original product I ordered was 30% off. So not only had I waited for 2 months, but I would also have to pay out of pocket, $100 more, for THEIR mistake. Just admit there was an error, and offer me a solution. Don't lie to me and gaslight me when I call with my concerns.

Pottery Barn just lost a life-long customer. I placed an order today with a competitor, and guess what? I have been guaranteed two-day shipping! What a joke. I can't believe I wasted so much time.

Worst Customer Service
March 3, 2021

Ordered an entire bedroom set for my son in July 2020. We finally got our last piece in March of 2021. It took 9 months to get all of the pieces after the original estimate was 1 month. As other reviewers have stated, they do not update you on any delays. Delivery dates come and go and you need to call them up and ask them what is happening. On top of this, they shipped the wrong item to us multiple times throughout the 9 months. The customer care reps do not seem to care at all when you call them. DO NOT order from Pottery Barn. Go anywhere else.

Stay Away!
February 27, 2021

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Waiting for nursery furniture for three months. Delivery continues to be canceled or postponed. I have called and called with no answers. Each customer service representative was going to "get right back to me". Finally I decided to call the corporate office. Reached a supervisor who investigated the order, scheduled a delivery and sent me an email with all eight items confirmed for delivery. Day of delivery... only three of the eight items are on the truck. Phoned supervisor again and was told "they couldn't locate two of the items". She offered to reorder the items or a refund. She really didn't seem to care or apologize that they lost items that were paid in full.
I was assured yesterday that another delivery has been scheduled for the remaining items. I purchased the other two items at another company. Please due yourself a favor and avoid a lot of stress, and don't buy furniture at PBK. I have been extremely stressed hoping my nursery would be set up before I delivered. Not to mention the amount of time I spent on the phone trying to get this mess straightened out.

Buyer be aware! Bought the complete bedding set for my daughter. The pintuck is coming loose from fabric and hanging. I called Pottery Barn since my daughter has only had it on her bed for a month and a half. They will not replace it since it is more than 30 days! Very disappointing. Very poor quality!

They are scammers do not buy from them
February 19, 2021

Please do not buy anything from Pottery Barn. I have made a $5000 order from them 5 months ago. 2 months ago when I called and complained because I have not received my kid bedroom set and I am so close to delivery and I have no bedroom yet. People at customer service are the worst and have absolutely no idea what is going on. I complained online and I still received no help at all. For the inconveniece we received $700 gift card (15%) compensation. Today (5 months later) when I called to cancel because I am fed up and decided to go with a company that is more professional, they deducted $700 from my refund claiming that they issued a gift card in the past. Have you every heard of this before? This is absolutely a first for me. For the record I don't plan ever to coming back to Pottery Barn and purchase anything from them, so for the fact to deal with all this headache and get charged $700 is absolutely ridiculous. I do not recommend them to anyone and I will be placing the worst reviews about them and their service for how poorly I was treated.

If I could give a zero I would. The customer service representatives are untrained, unhelpful and downright rude. I ordered a desk for my daughter to work remotely. They canceled my order and then when I spoke to a representative they replaced the order without providing me with my rewards and had the audacity to charge me twice. They don't allow you to speak with a manger and give you the ring around while waiting on hold for countless hours. I hope they go out of business considering the amount of small businesses that are struggling I will bring my business to them.

I ordered a Kendall Bed in early September. Estimated delivery was set for October- November. We are mid February! Due to this delay my son is having all sort of sleeping problems and health complications. If I knew this bed will take this long to be delivered I would have bought a different bed. I paid full price already as I have The Pottery Barn credit card (worst credit card company also) This cannot be fair or tolerated. The health of my kid is the most important thing for me, that's why I bought a quality bed. I feel scammed and frustrated with their inaction.

I ordered furniture pieces for my son and his wife's first baby to set up their nursery. With their baby due in January, 2021, we ordered September 6th, 2020. The order is still not complete, February 10th, 2021. The baby was born a month ago, and we still don't have a crib. They falsely advertise inventory, showing it to ship in 4 weeks or so, when in truth, they have not been able to get any inventory from their vendor. Yesterday, on my 30th call to them to check on the crib, a supervisor told me we had been wise to follow another employee's advice in early January to give up on the first crib they wanted, cancel that one, and order my daughter-in-law's 2nd choice. I learned the original crib we ordered last September 2020 is not set to restock until July 2021. I immediately checked the website, and acted as if I were a new customer ordering fresh with that crib... PBK told me it would arrive at my house by Mid-March. This is completely untruthful. They know the next possible date they will get any of these cribs from the vendor is in July. So, more couples will plan their nursery set-up based on false promises. They promised our 2nd choice crib was showing 168 currently in stock at the time we switched to it. They said it would ship in 2 weeks. That was 5 weeks ago. Now, they told me yesterday they actually have no inventory on the crib, and hope to get some in "this Friday". Do you know how many times I've been promised inventory was arriving in a few more days? At least a DOZEN times. Yet, it never happens. Add to that, no one lifts a finger to try and show compassion or offer help. I was promised a $150 rewards card in December for our continued trouble. It never came. The whole situation has broken my heart, and caused much stress over something that should have been a big blessing to a young family preparing for their first baby. Do not order from this company! It's highly likely you will have a new baby and no furniture for the nursery. It's sad to say after decades of loyalty to Pottery Barn, PBK, and PBTeen, they have changed. Not at all the same any more. If I don't contact them, I don't hear from them. They don't seem to care at all.

I had ordered a crib from pottery barn not knowing it was only the piece to a crib for $100. Finding this out I immediately called customer service (within 10 minutes of ordering it) and tried to cancel the order. The first person I called gladly said I could cancel the order. A few days pass and I get a confirmation email that the package was on the way. Once again I called customer service and she said I was not eligible to return the order nor have it canceled. Frustrated I had her go back to the previous phone call, and finally after 45 minutes on the phone with customer service she let me return the package once I got it. The issues didn't stop there though. She wouldn't email me the return label until I got the package? And once I got the package I called to get this label to which I will only be receiving $53 back from the $100 I spent. This is because I am being charged $47 for shipping in all reality the item should have been canceled from the beginning. Save yourself the headache and order somewhere else for 1/2 the price and the same quality.

I purchased a monogrammed backpack for my son for Xmas and it was great at first until he used it for 3 days and the retractor arm stopped going fully down. I immediately reach out to them and they tell me hey no problem we have it in stock and can get it out to you in the next few weeks and confirm it via email on 1/8. So almost a month goes by and I am wondering why 1. I never got an email to follow up with the tracking number 2. Never got a call telling me there was an issue. I reach out today and I am told 1. Sorry they never processed it 2. Sorry that backpack is sold out 3. Sorry for all of this but we can only give you a store credit for a backpack we no longer have so have fun picking another one that your son will not love as much.

I have run call centers for 20+ years so this clearly has not impressed me in any way shape or form and anyone under me who did this would be immediately placed on disciplinary action. The product would be directly refunded to the client and not have us expect they will want to purchase from us again after such a terrible experience overall. I used to love Pottery Barn but this one failed interaction will make me think again and I will probably just lose the credit because my confidence in them has been damaged on both the quality of product and the overall customer care they provide when their products and CS fail at this level.

DONT TRUST POTTERY BARN FURNITURE
February 1, 2021

I ordered a bassinet that never showed by it's promised date. I called 3 different times and was promised it would show and it's in stock. After my baby was born I called again and they totally didn't have the item in stock. I could've ordered from any other major furniture store and would've had very different service.

Made an order that came with multiple pieces in December. 3 of 4 items made it, but the last item shipping date kept changing multiple times. Called twice, the first time they said it will arrive January 25-27 but never did. I called the second time to ask for the status and they said I was supposed to call to schedule a delivery. They never said that. All this time the item was being held in their hub for over a month. It was never shipped even though I was told it was. The person I spoked to (Carlin) was annoyed when I kept asking questions since I was confused with the conflicting information I was given. Then the item was delivered the the wrong address even though the other items were delivered to us.

Back in September we travelled to a Pottery Barn Kids store to consult them on ordering a glider for our nursery. We wanted to get a very realistic, very clear sense of delivery times because of Covid. We we assured (from an employee and a manager) that it would take a MAXIMUM of 3 months, from order date to in-home delivery. So we purchased. After realizing the glider had been "in transit" for 2 months, I decided to call and get an update. Apparently the glider was "temporarily lost" and they placed a "track and trace" on the order, and that I should call back for an update in 48 hours. So begins a frustrating tale of many many phone calls, to many many customer service representatives. Each time I call I get a different story, all assuring me that the piece is in transit, and should arrive by the quoted delivery window. Mind you, this "quoted delivery window" keeps moving farther and farther into the future. But still, I just "need to be patient"!?... Finally a few days ago I just broke down crying to a rep on the phone. Its been 5 months, 3 months 'in transit'! It's really the only thing we have ordered for our nursery - and even if it isnt special to them, it is to us! I just wanted to know honestly if we could count on it by our baby's due date in 2 weeks, or if I should try to get something else in time? I have tried to simply cancel the order but they are making this impossible too, placing me on long holds, transferring me to dead-end lines! I am honestly shocked and disgusted by the lack of respect and regard that this big brand actually has for its customers. We will never, ever buy anything from the Pottery Barn family of brands, and I hope this review inspires potential PB shoppers to instead buy from other brands that care about their customers and deserve their business.

Zero stars if I could
January 28, 2021

This is regarding the bank - Comerity Bsnk - which is my Pottery Barn Charge Card. Ordered nursery furniture November 27 over the phone. At the same time, I opened up a Pottery Barn Credit Card (Comerity Bank). I asked the Customer Service Rep to put me in the rewards program... did not want the deferred one year monthly payments. Paid my entire bill $2,144 in full and mailed the day after I received the bill. I've likely made a dozen phone calls to customer service reps... everyone gives a different answer. Some have said your $200 credit will be by email. Comerity - at least 12 messages to them - they said I was not in the rewards program. 1. My bill did not show a payment plan option and stated would be accrued interest on unpaid balance - I paid in full! 2. My $200 credit not mentioned.

I've been messaging them often as I'd like my credit that I'm owed. I started the messaging online in January 11 2021 - over a month ago. Filed a dispute. Latter in mail today stating may take 90 days to resolve - but won't have any disputed finance charge. NO. I paid in full immediately. I would never recommend this charge card. Honestly it's taken so much time and angst. The worst to deal with. Ever.

I ordered a set of Catalina Bed andTrundle Bed since Nov 20,2020. The first few times I called, I was told some parts of the bed were back-ordered. The latest delivery date would be Jan 7,2021. My card was charged for the full amount since Jan 2,2021. No notification of the delay was sent. I called last week and was told they were on the way. Nevertheless, today is Jan 23,2021. I still haven't received any notification of delivery. It's a huge mistake to order furniture from PBKids. I would have cancelled the order if I could find a bed and trundle that match with the current dresser and night stands!

No help
January 22, 2021

I placed an order for beds 9 weeks ago and still have not recieved them. Customer service said that one was waiting to be shipped. They sent 2 emails to the vendor and still no response. The other bed I was told was waiting for rails by one rep, the next rep said it was ready to ship. I have sent emails which were not followed up on and have no ETA on delivery. I have cancelled both orders and will not order from this site again.

DO NOT TRUST
January 22, 2021

We will never be purchasing from this company ever again. Ordered a tool bench back in November. The website said nothing about being backordered, but did say we would get it by Dec 18th prior to purchasing in cart. When we made the purchase, the item was suddenly backordered but promised for Dec 23rd. One week before Dec 23rd the item was credited to our credit card, then drawn back out numerous times... Fast forward to January 21st when I have finally given up and requested this order to be cancelled due to many, many interactions of promised dates it would ship and then was told it shipped when it didn't. I cannot understand how you can promise to ship an item you don't have and clearly have no intention of having anytime soon. Customer service representatives do not know any information about anything frankly and will tell you anything to keep your order, including telling me I cannot cancel my order because it is simply backordered... If you cannot and will not provide the product that was ordered months ago, I can cancel my order. So unprofessional, untrustworthy as they have lied numerous times, and frankly I cannot believe how many times they credited and then recharged our credit card. Terrible company. Do not trust them!
