The company has garnered mixed feedback, with notable strengths in product quality and design, particularly for furniture and bedding. However, customer experiences reveal significant weaknesses in customer service, characterized by long delays, unresponsive support, and issues with order fulfillment and returns. Many customers express frustration over damaged items, inadequate assistance, and a lack of follow-through on promises made by representatives. This inconsistency in service quality has led to a growing sentiment of dissatisfaction, overshadowing the brand's previously strong reputation for quality and reliability. Overall, while the products are appreciated, the customer service approach requires urgent improvement.

I purchased two kids chairs from pottery barn for Christmas gifts for my grandkids. On Christmas day my daughter and her family lost their home in a fire. They lost everything including all the children's toys. It was horrible. I called all the companies I did business with to replace just what I purchased. They all help or sent a new item in its place. Pottery barn told me they wouldn't help because I purchased them in August. I'm sure others can relate that also start shopping early because it gets expensive. I also have pictures of the children opening them up on Christmas.
They dismissed me and said they would not help or give me a discount to replace. Very sad that a company this size has no empathy. I will no longer shop with them in the future for my other grandchildren that I may have in the future. I will replace what I need by doing it myself with material from Michael's craft store. Think twice before you buy. No one knows what may happen in the future.
Ordered a stocking for our new born that was due to come Dec. 16. They didn't even email saying it was pushed out to January 16, I just checked because it never came. Now it's 3 days to Christmas and we have no stocking for our newborn. Terrible.
Ordered a bed and waited a month just to contact them and they said the item is back ordered. Canceled that order and asked if they had another bed in stock, was told yes it was in stock and could ship immediately. Well immediately was a month later and got a shipping email. When the delivery date came it didn't show up. Gave them 2 extra days before I contacted them only to be told they canceled the order because they didn't have a part! GOT NO NOTICE WHATSOEVER! THIS COMPANY IS TOTALLY TRASH AND NOT SURE WHY THEYRE SO LOVED. THE WORST EVER!
I ordered the oversized kid chair in light lavender with a monogram. There were no instructions in the box so I watched you tube videos 4 times. First of all this chair was $262.00 with shipping charges. I think I paid more for the chair because I wanted the light lavender. The chair was a nightmare to put together and the wrinkles in the cover never smoothed out. I read somewhere(after the fact) that you could put the cover in the dryer with a wet towel to help get rid of the wrinkles. The quality of this chair is a big disappointment. When I give it to my daughter-in-law for my granddaughter I'll see what she wants to do. I complained to customer service and they told me I could return it. This would be a big production. The flimsy box that it came is is huge. I'm sorry I'm having trouble adding a photo so you would be able to see how the slipcover does not fit properly!
Wanted to say how much I appreciate the help of the Pottery Barn for Kids (and the whole Williams-Sonoma Inc) customer service team for helping me out with a special birthday present for my grandson.
I had ordered a chair and accidentally shipped it to the wrong address. While it did not process the way had "expected", they were able to deliver the chair to the corrected address at no additional cost and before his birthday. And my grandson *loves* the chair.
Having worked in customer service for a Fortune 1000 company, I know the effort put forth by the team to make this happen and wanted to express my true appreciation for all their help!
This is really amazing -- from a company that should appreciate their customers who are willing to pay for their overpriced items especially. I ordered two robes for my granddaughters priced at $ 70.00 each. Easy enough. Free shipping. Great. The day they before they were delivered, they are reduced to $ 47 each. I assume, no big deal, I will call for an adjustment. But guess what, they won't adjust the price. I have to return the robes for a refund and then order new ones. AND I HAVE to pay for return shipping OF COURSE. Does this make any sense? They also have to pay to re-ship the new robes, the same exact robes. Bad business. I won't be ordering from them again. Only from companies who have RATIONAL policies regarding returns and credit adjustments.
Pottery Barn Kids lies about Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales! The true sales are AFTER Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Pottery Barn Kids advertises sales and expects people to believe that the company participates in traditional sales days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. However, Pottery Barn Kids intends to mislead and fool consumers to purchase on these traditional holiday sales days, Yet after these traditional sales days, when consumer purchases have reduced, then the company lowers prices and refuses to price adjust for the foolish consumers who believed that Black Friday and Cyber Monday were valid sales prices.
I bought an expensive glider for the nursery thinking it would be a good investment piece for our firstborn. However, after a few months it starts squeaking. At first I tried to ignore it, but it gets worse and worse over time to the point that I can't sit at anymore because this squeaking is so loud and awful. It's obviously not conducive to getting a baby to go to sleep. You can imagine between a crying baby and a loudly squeaking chair what that does to a new mom's nerves over time. It has me in tears that I can't rock my baby to sleep anymore. My husband and I tried to fix it but to no avail. I called pottery barn customer service but they said they couldn't do anything because I had been a year since delivery of the piece of furniture. However, I explained that we bought the glider several months before the baby's birth, so it was much less than a year of normal wear and tear. We spent several hundred dollars on a piece of furniture that provided us with less than a year of use, and customer service did absolutely nothing for us. Please save yourself the hassle of buying an investment piece from pottery barn, because without decent good customer service it's not worth it.
Ordered a unicorn stuffed animal for a child in the hospital! Paid $69 and the next day was $55. Called customer service which told me "we dont make price adustments. Product wasnt even delived yet, and they wouldnt do anything to adjust! I will never do business with them again, and i will advice anyone buying from them, be careful, they are out to get you!
Beware the Pottery Barn Kids and family of stores. West Elm/ Williams Sonoma. Purchased a crib for PBK. Price lowered by $75 with in 10 days of actual delivery and the customer service refuses to make any price adjustment. The only option was to return at my expense and then repurchase. Forget it. Going to avoid business with this group of companies.
Everything here is overpriced. I created a baby registry and even a book shelf was not included in the completion discount. When I called to ask why, they said because it is a popular item. That is so ridiculous. So I can only choose items that nobody wants if I want to apply a little 15% discount. No thanks.
Ordered the Cameron cubbies, cabinets and drawers for my grandson Oct 21,2021 and have not received communication or care as to why I do not have this wall system? I'm dumbfounded. How can a company function in this manner? Honestly, this has gone beyond anyones' patience. They have charged me over and over again with nothing to show for it. Nobody calls to set up delivery and set up? What is going on here. Several calls made over many months and nobody has answers or call backs from higher ups. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. This has not been my first encounter with issues with them. I was being VERY patient due to COVID issues but 11 months is beyond what I was expecting!
Ordered 2 twin beds because website said they were in stock for quick ship. Said would be delivered in 2-4 weeks. It has been 4 weeks and now it website says another 2-5 Weeks. If website advertises it is in stock and ready to ship that should be the case. No help calling customer service.
I'm not one to complain or write a bad review but I have to with this one. I purchased a blanket back in June when I was expecting my daughter (September) since using this the blanket has frayed and the stitching has come away (7 weeks of use!)I contacted the company to see if there's was anything that could be done. Well the response to this was absolutely shocking to sum up the email there's nothing they can do. As a company that like to put a hefty price tag on their products you'd expect a better customer care and quality of product. No offers of a repair, refund, replacement or part refund they also don't offer any guarantees or warranty's. I will certainly not be using this company again and il be telling friends and family to avoid!
Ordered bunk beds two months ago. It was scheduled for deliver 10/19-11/2. Called today 11/2 because I hadn't heard from them. They said the order was canceled. I asked why I wasn't notified and they said an automated email came out that probably went to my spam. I check my spam weekly for work. I never saw it. I asked for them to forward the cancellation email. He couldn't produce it. He wanted to reorder for me at a much higher price. They wouldn't honor the ordered price which had a confirmation from them that the order had taken place.
Pottery barn hs terrible customer service. Let me explain: we orders a full bedroom set for our child mid august and we're told everything would be delivered by mid September. That's when we started seeing the delivery link update to partial item deliveries then other items that suddenly went on back order immediately after we placed the order (how convenient that this happens right after we placed the order). Then after waiting 2mo and reaching out several times to their dismal joke of customer service we are told we are still within the delivery window, that same delivery window that keeps getting pushed back. When asked to speak to a supervisor or someone that hd any answers that aren't scripted, we are given the run around. If you go to their website it specifically says you can order the items we did order and have them delivered by nov17, our delivery date is December as of now because the items are "back ordered". How is that possible? They are blatantly lying on their website and obviously do not care about customer service. We will never shop there again. We are extremely disappointed by their lack of professionalism.
Pottery Barn Kids ruined everything!
I ordered a nursery set June 2022 and still as of October 18th have not had it delivered! It keeps getting postponed! Now between nov 3-nov 23. Every time i call they say the same thing next week they are getting a shipment, but they don't. My baby will be delivered before the furniture and I will have no nursery :( When i go on line to order today it states I will have it in 4 weeks,(which is not true because they have not even delivered June orders yet...) they are lying to consumers and its not fair. If they were honest in the beginning with me my baby would have a nursery. Im so sad and they have ruined a very important happy time a new mom should have experienced setting up a baby girls nursery and having it ready instead of an empty room to bring her home to...
Absolutely worst business I've ever dealt with. Bait and switch you with delivery dates. Then you get updated on that they're back ordered indefinitely. Customer service is terrible. Wastes hours of my life on the phone with no solutions.
All we needed were 2 bolts for a baby crib. Customer support supervisors told me they had them in stock. But i could never speak to the parts department responsible for shipping them because even customer support can't reach the parts department. In total I averaged 30 minutes of hold time, so I spent hours trying to get two bolts. Every time they said "you will get an email from us in 7-10 days." That email never came.
I bought my family a gift from the baby registry. I noticed it went on sale a few days later. I called customer service and they would not cancel my order. They would not credit my account. It was 350 dollars. I'll never ship there again. Very poor customer service. The worst business I've ever dealt with.
Answer: Hi Vicki: We are so sorry to hear about your recent experience when you inquired about your order. Please email our elevated team at [email protected] and we can then reach out you directly. Thank you.
Answer: It's not possible. Buy from somewhere else. These people are useles
Answer: Both! They sale items that they do not have in stock and have no idea when or if the items will be back ordered. Impossible to get a refund.
