We ordered a premium desk from Pottery Barm, and paid over $1,800. We also paid nearly $200 to have it assembled in our home office.

The guys that came out were very friendly. However after they were done assembling, they mentioned to us that we would be responsible for drilling and attaching each of the components to one another using bolts, for a seamless work area. We explained that we are an elderly couple, don't own a drill, and the reason we paid extra for assembly is because we don't want to or know how to assemble the various structures of the desk so they are all attached and not independent moving around.

The delivery guys said that they are a separate delivery company and that they are not allowed to drill through the item to finish installing it. They were adamant. They left.

We then called Pottery Barn and spent 42 minutes holding, and spoke with someone who said that that was not correct, and that the delivery company is supposed to complete FULL assembly. Pottery Barn says that they will transfer us to "another department to discuss further, to resolve the assembly issue". Without warning, we are put on hold again, and transferred.

Apparently she transferred us directly to the delivery/assembly company that they use.
We soon learn that the delivery company is closed for the weekend! What kind of crappy services is this from Pottery Barn?! They don't take any ownership of the problem and work to resolve it on our behalf. We paid a premium for the product and extra for assembly. We got ripped off. We are so fed up (keep in mind that we waited over 6 weeks for this item to arrive) that we are now requiring a return and full refund due to their irresponsibility.

Do not give this company your business!

Pottery Barn used to be reputable. Not anymore. Not in my opinion.

I bought this table, or whatever you'd call it in July of 2020. I haven't used it much because it's unsafe. It's mostly been set in an area where it can't fall over. It has several time and it's very very heavy has landed on my feet, and almost on my cat. It's not stable. I saw today an advertisement for it and it's $200. I believe I paid $180 with a discount. The glass does not stay on the stand. Ridiculous. I'm going to try to find somewhere where I can report it.

Oh and they give you these little bitty three round rubber something to put on the glass that don't even stay on because they're round and the stand is smaller than them. It's crazy.

Used to love shopping here but the company is going downhill; items in store are often shoddy, broken and dusty and not well kept and/or if they are out of an item your expected to shoulder the costs of shipping even if you order in store and they don't bother to tell you that your item won't ship til 2 months later yet run the charge through weekly to see if the funds are still available, which they are, but if you ask again politely if they'll waive shipping and they explain how they "don't charge until item has been shipped" yet somehow still keep running my card weekly and they "can't waive shipping" and then I tell them that they hang up…I get it was easier than solving the problem. I'm not talking about a couch or large items. We're talking small items too; overall not an enjoyable experience when your spending hard earned money. There are other places to shop who will respect their clientele. #badcustomerservice #notworthit #badbusinesspractices #notworththemoney

I'm not sure if i will be able to leave this without giving a star rating but Pottery Barn doesn't deserve even 1 star. Purchased a washed velvet quilt that is completely unraveling. Called to talk to customer service and was bumped up to a supervisor, Carolina Spencer, who asked me to send photos, which I did. Received no response so sent more emails. I have left at least 8 messages and I get no call back or email response. I will NEVER buy from this company again and you shouldn't either!

Return charges
February 4, 2022

I ordered a shower curtain online in December 2021. When it still hadn't arrived I reached out on January 14,2022 to Customer Service to cancel my order and was told it was too late to cancel but I could return it when it arrived. It arrived on February 2,2022 and when it I tried to return it I was told there be restocking fee of over 30.00. At no time was I told of this fee during my chat on January 14,2022. I have since disputed the charge on my Credit card

Very poor service
February 4, 2022

I will never order from pottery barn again. It has been beyond a hassle. The items that I received are wonderful... I love their furniture, but the customer service on line is terrible. I receive a different answer every time I call. I have been trying to get $426 dollars back due to not receiving 2 shay chairs that I
Ordered and already paid for! PAID for, not just on a credit card, but paid. It has been over one month going on two months and I call support at least twice a week and I am currently on hold now waiting to speak to a supervisor for the fifth time. Good luck with any purchases/returns from there. They have lost a customer for life.

We paid over $14,000 for our furniture and it already looks old. My sectional is pilling and uncomfortable. My marble hall table is cracked. Our chair is pilling. Not worth it to buy from pottery barn. The shipping is outrageous! They quality has gotten worse. They are using cheaper materials that don't hold up.

After shopping for days for a specific need-MACHINE WASHABLE SLIP COVERED SWIVEL CHAIRS, I finally came to pottery barn in Raleigh North Carolina at Crabtree Valley Mall. The assistant manager (at the time), Brett told me which fabric to get to meet my needs. I specifically asked "is it machine washable and able to be bleached?" the answer, "yes!" I paid way more than I'd planned to but I needed those specifics for my space. I have 4 young children. I wanted chairs immediately, but had to wait 12 weeks. February comes and they're delivered. Beautiful. 6m later they look like total grimy crud. I pull the covers to wash and double check the tag-SPOT CLEAN ONLY. I took them to the dry cleaner and paid 50$ for 2 chairs slip covers to be washed. Now they look terrible again. I have to either take these to the dry cleaner for 50$ and wait a week with no covers on my chairs or continue having covers that look awful. I called pottery barn customer service and they said there was nothing they would do to help. Not send new covers that are in fact machine washable (which they do make just sold me the wrong ones). Not offer a discount on new covers. Not a single thing. Never ever again will I give this company my money. They don't train their employees and managers well enough and they don't stand behind their customers.

For the record-I don't let my kids eat or drink in these chairs. I don't let animals in these chairs. The fabric is terrible.

The marble was chipped from a side and the brass bottom legs seemed to have a gold paint which was not finished properly. Had ugly marks here and there. I spend 149$ on a junk for white glove delivery.

Have been waiting over 7 months for my order...
January 23, 2022

Ordered an ottoman July 14 2021. First ship date was Sept. 2021 every month my delivery date mysterious changes. I don't receive any communication from them. Apparently, I'm just supposed to keep checking. I have asked them to refund my shipping charge as this is completely unacceptable yet they simply can't help me in any way. I feel sorry for their employees. I will never order products from Pottery Barn again. Such a shame they can't stand behind their brand.

I purchased a leather Manchester swivel desk chair just over a year ago. The pistonbrok and the chair became loose and wobbly. Ball bearing. Fell on the floor. I called pottery barn and they since it was over a year old they could only recommend I call "furniture medic". I did, they don't fix these types of chairs. I Called pottery barn back and asked, well, can I buy this part directly from someone? They said "no". So I spent $1000 on a chair that their recommended servicer can't or won't fix. They can't or won't sell me the part that is d defective. Offered me no exchange. I was literally forced to buy a new Herman miller chair because pottery barn wasn't as interested in addressing a chair broke after normal desk usage. Literally like 3 weeks out of warranty.

I purchased the wrong size pendant lights, so I re-purchased the correct size and returned the first set. They were quick to charge me for the new set and I recieved in a few days. However, it has been 11 days since they received my return and even after calling customer service, I still have not received my refund. Also, I think the $30.00 restocking fee is ridiculous. Especially since it was an exchange. I expected more from a high end company. Other companies process refund as soon as it's scanned in by delivery company and don't charge a restocking fee. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be making any more online purchases from Pottery Barn.

But when you go into tracking later that day their website says preparing for shipping. Fricken liars. I will never do business with them again and will dissuade everyone I can from doing business with them too.

Do not order from
January 5, 2022

Don't bother with this company. I ordered two monogrammed stockings in 2019. After having added 2 to my family I bought two more of the same type and writing this November. I paid 75$ usd for the two. They arrived and are different enough you notice it. The monogram thread color is a different red and the ivory is a different ivory and the stockings hang in a different spot. They obviously switched supplier and changed the base stocking but failed to inform. So I in December I ordered four monogrammed stockings so they would all be the same. These were smaller and on sale for 115$. They didn't ship but kept putting a "hold" on my credit card. Twice to be exact. Once on the 23 and once on the 31. When questioned they claimed it would "fall off" after 3-5 days. They did not. They also never shipped. Today they told me they would ship them. Then later today I was told that they cancelled my order because my cc address didn't match (even though it went through my bank OKAY and is the same card I used for my order in NOVEMBER and received my order no problem) and to just wait for the holds to go off my credit card. It has been 13 days and 6 days and both holds are still on my bank account keeping me from 226 usd in funds! DO NOT buy from this company. You will regret it. I certainly do.

Words mean nothing!
January 3, 2022

Ordered a nice rug and was over 2 months late on the original delivery date. I tried canceling no less than 5 times. I couldn't. I was promised a full refund and no issues when I returned the rug in the original packaging. Partial amount was refunded in a gift card although I was promised a check. Later a full price gift card was delivered to my house. Disappointment is an understatement. Now I need to use the gift card to be done with this ridiculous company.

Consistently disappointed
January 3, 2022

There is a reason Pottery Barn doesn't offer reviews of their products on their website, they are crap! I ordered some decorative pillows for the winter season mid-October and didn't start using them until after Thanksgiving. I recently discovered that one of them is defective. It wasn't sewn properly and is coming apart at the seam and unrepairable. I called customer service to see if I could get it replaced and they told me I couldn't get a refund or replacement because it is past their 30 day window, even though the product is still available. That is unacceptable, the item is defective and should be warranted for more than 30 days. I'm done buying their overpriced junk!

Frustrated
December 29, 2021

1. Spent a lot of money... and original order said 3 months until delivery. Which became 4 months... not all of the order came and when it did come it was damaged! Multiple, multiple phone calls later, they said they'd give me $350 in merc. Credit and waive shipping... now i have to wait another month to replace the damaged furniture and complete my order!
