BUYER BEWARE. I purchased my first item on poshmark a couple of weeks ago. It was described as NWOT. When I received the item it was clearly not new, with fraying seams and pilling. I started a case and was eventually approved to return the item for a full refund. I was traveling during this time, and received a notice from Poshmark stating that I must return the item within 24 hours or forfeit the refund. I contacted customer support explaining that clearly I had not been able to print and mail the item while being away. When I returned 48 hours after their requested return window, I emailed them with a photo of the boxed item with shipping label affixed, ready to drop in the mail, and asking if I could go ahead and mail it for the refund. I received a reply from "Catherine, the Team Lead of the Disputes team overseeing returns and escalations". She refused to refund the item.
Ridiculous. False advertising by sellers, no quality control whatsover, and awful customer service. There is no option to speak with anyone over the phone. Buyers beware.
I've lowered my rating of Poshmark after having an odd experience on the site. I had removed all of the for-sale items in my "closet" because I was, temporarily, too too busy to follow up on bids and sales. So my closet showed only sold items. But many weeks later I received an offer on an item I had removed. Odd. I think it slipped through because it was a second bid, from someone who had previously submitted a low offer and had been rejected. So that is a flaw in the Poshmark programming, and that is my first complaint. I still had the item so I accepted the offer, and then I got a surprise and this leads to my second complaint. The item was a handbag from a Big Name designer brand, and the purchaser was the manufacturer! The "buyer" was identified as a woman's name, but the address was the office for the brand. So perhaps the manufacturer is buying up their stock on the resale market? What bothers me about this sale is that I found this out only after accepting the bid. It makes me feel that I have been snookered, somehow. It seems wrong that a company can hide behind an essentially anonymous buyer while snapping up their merchandise across the Web. And then the "buyer" did not give me any stars for the sale, so that messes up my average rating of full marks. This got me thinking about the flaws in the Poshmark structure. It's not balanced in favor of the sellers. Sellers are not allowed to rate buyers, even though buyers cause a lot of problems (based on the many complaints I have read). And I have never been comfortable with sending items to stranger with my return address on the package. So I am no longer a fan of this site.
I've sold many items on Poshmark, and I have full marks as a seller. I package my items carefully, include extra gifts, and sell only the best quality goods. The reason I don't give full marks for the site are, first, they don't filter out the junk many people post on the site. I see listing for the strangest stuff (used bra, anyone?). Second, there are obvious resellers who comb the site and follow other sellers. They'll "like" your listings and follow you, and I get the feeling they are gaming the system. I've never had a problem with anyone returning an item, but I have had low-ball offers that are just insulting, and that can be frustrating. Overall, I'd say this is a fine place to sell things like new or lightly used handbags and new-in-box shoes. Other items are slower to move.
This site is worst. I have purchased several items, then to cancel the order due to no response from the seller.
I have purchased 2 items with no problems. I have also sold 2 items with no problems. You must read the terms carefully so you understand how Poshmark works. Also, you must read the ads carefully when making a purchase. If you have any questions, you should leave a comment to the seller. This site is like a garage sale. Once you purchase something, it is not returnable (there are exceptions). I try to be very specific in my ads so the buyer is not disappointed.
I honestly wanted to like this app when I first started I felt it was amazing but then buyers came in and decided that they want to return item even when nothing is wrong with it and Poshmark always sides with buyer. I am not impressed by the snarky attitude from Poshmark and I am done with it. They take so much commission and don't even supply boxes here in Canada so I have to buy them. I was given 4 stars because I didn't ship fast enough even though I am not working at post office I can't get them to ship that day. Super annoying and transactions take so long I don't like this app and I think you should sell Stuff else where.
It really sucks that you can't return something that you didn't like or it doesn't fit. I have reached out to their team but all they said I'm sorry you cannot be returned.
Sold several items with positive reviews and all of a sudden they accuse me of selling a fake belt? Possibly other sellers marking my belt as counterfeit because I am purposefully selling it lower than them? They removed it, I offered to provide proof of purchase for the listing and they said they would not reinstate it. Zero stars. Garbage app. Terrible customer service.
This site is ridiculous nothing but bored people harassing and putting rude comments if someone misses out on a sale they convince the seller to cancel on you. Customer support sucks and I still have not received an order but it shows delivered and they will not refund me and there is no customer service that you can speak to you can only send an email they don't respond to
When I first started using Poshmark I liked it a lot. Their website and app is user-friendly and they incorporate the social media aspect that we are familiar with to the buying & selling experience. HOWEVER, Poshmark charges a fee of 20% of your sale. This fee doesn't allow you to make any type of money and then you have to increase your prices so that you don't loose money on your inventory. I highly recommend Ebay instead of Poshmark they have a fee of 9% and a max of $50 on all sales. Poshmark's fee makes it useless to sellers. I rated one start because I think it is important to not support businesses that extract too much money from the e-commerce market. It starts to look quite "scammy" when businesses charge fees that no longer support a profit margin for sellers. Which then results in hiked up prices for buyers or losses on inventory for sellers.
I made my first purchase of a pair of sneakers and they were never shipped. The seller had lots of items for sale and love notes so I thought it would be safe. A heads up there is no way to contact the seller to ask about the item, you have to wait 8 days then you can request to cancel the order for "delay" if you cancel before that you may not get a refund. I paid with pay pal so if PM doesn't refund I'll go to pay pal for the refund. The sad part is I wasted time on this site and item, so much time has gone by and I need them by this weekend so it is to late to make another purchase. If your looking for an item and don't need it this site might be good for you, otherwise you should shop elsewhere.
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS SELLER unless that is if you chose to be treated with arrogance and rudeness. I had asked this seller for measurements on one of her items back on May 28,2019. She never responded. So I went ahead and asked again on June 22,2020. Wow did I get an ear full 2 days later. First she can't be bothered listing measurements and then cannot be bothered answering you. Then when she does she is full of excuses and down right rude. Excuse me but the last time I looked this was a global pandemic with global protesters and riots in the street. It is not just affecting her in Philadelphia and I live in NYC Manhattan. She claims to take pride in her closet yet can't answer customer questions after 3 tries and over a year of trying and then comes up with excuses for her behavior then blocks you so you cannot respond to her rudeness by giving her a taste of her own medicine. Talk about a chicken. I would NOT have purchased from her anyway after the response she gave me. So Jillian you can block me all you want... now I went public to advise everyone of how rude, arrogant and entitled you are. I would rather spend my money with a seller who can provide proper service and I have been a Director of CS for over 50 yrs so I know a thing or two about it. If you can't handle selling on PM then go away as selling on PM does not take a rocket scientist.
Should be able to give ZERO stars. Wholly dishonest company. My one and only order from this company was a scam. I had liked a pair of $39 shorts then received an offer from the seller to purchase for $32 AND reduced shipping of $4.99. I clicked on the link in the email to purchase and bought it. I then looked and saw the charge was for the full price plus the original shipping charge! I was overcharged almost $11 and immediately contacted support to get a refund. Instead I received a *form letter back stating that the sellers offer must not have met their parameters but failed to say HOW it didn't. I now am not receiving any response back to my screen shot below of the offer I accepted and requested that they explain why the offer was not honored. The transaction should not even have been completed if it didn't meet their standards (and I don't believe for a second it did). When I alerted them to the problem I should've received a partial or a FULL refund (cancelling the sale) immediately as I never had any intention of buying it at full price. This is a bait and switch scam to the customer and after reading all these other reviews I am definitely reporting this to the authorities, the CA State Attorney General's Office, the BBB, ripoff report, and every other platform I can think of. People need to know just how dishonest this company is operating. I will also look into small claims court where if this case is accepted they will surely lose. I encourage everyone else to do the same so they change their dishonest ways or get shut down.
I'm not sure what these other people are complaining about poshmark sales paid for my new 2019 car. Yeah you get some returns but i mean that happens on ebay. You're technically working retail while you get to sit in your pajamas in the luxury of your own bed lol. Theres retail memes for a reason. But stick with the script and you'll be fine.
I purchased a pre-owned Lilly Pulitzer dress, size 8. It was weird when it arrived the measurements barely fit a size 2 and yet the tag said 8. I have the same dress in different patterns and on comparison, realized that the tag was wrong, the stitching was wrong, the YKK zipper looked fake. Yep I had a counterfeit on my hands. So when I filed a complaint and even offered to PAY the return shipping, Poshmark literally told me that I don't qualify for a refund because she showed a picture of the bust portion of the dress measuring 16 inches (which is a 32 inch bust and she stretched it because in reality its maybe a 30 inch bust for a size 8 dress. Right). I don't get it, this was a $55 dress, its not like they made a ton of money off it and its not like I didn't offer to just return it and move on. After voicing my concerns of it being counterfeit, Poshmark suggested I RESELL it on their site. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? Then there's the fact that since I purchased through venmo, my bank won't touch the case and there's really no other way to resolve except with PM. And they don't have a single phone number you can reach them at. All weekend I received emails, like 8pm on a Saturday asking for a picture of the zipper, 9am on a Sunday asking for a picture of the "material tag" after I'd sent them a bunch of pics. Then radio silence. I own 30+ Lilly P dresses that I have ALWAYS purchased at stores. I know whats fake and whats not. Also, if a dress is advertised as an 8 but wouldn't fit a 00, how in the world is it my fault for not asking for complete measurements? And the stitching job... awful. The crooked size tag... Seriously this company sucks to stand behind dishonest sellers
I ordered a Bruce Springsteen tee shirt from a seller on Poshmark. It was a size small. (and see through). Well, what I got was a size small children's tee shirt. It was described in very good condition. I complained about the size, as I expected to be able to wear the shirt. They would not take it back, despite the obvious dishonesty of the seller. It was either severely shrunk or a child's size. Now I'm out $200. The seller had the nerve to tell me there was nothing I could do about it. Well, I will get my bank involved and tell as many people as I can that this is a scam outfit. It's Goodwill with a fancy name!
I have bought a lot of items from Poshmark. It is really convenient and reliable to buy from the app. Quick shipping and nice packaging. The price was reasonable and much better than retail. I like Poshmark.
I read multiple reviews from buyers here saying that the sellers are scammers on Poshmark- this is offensive. I have not purchased anything but posted 15 items in hopes of selling them and the only responses I get are "potential buyers" wanting to take the transaction offline via email or asking to see photos and asking about the condition of the item when I have provided 5-8 clear photos and explained clearly the condition and photographed any defects in the site. I do not like the idea of using my personal email to communicate to "customers"- I say this in quotes because they either don't seem serious about buying the item at all, for they did not even bother to read the description detail carefully, or are using language in such a way to make me believe they are not in the U.S. and are overseas trying to obtain my personal information to commit some sort of identify fraud. IF somebody isn't willing to link their credit card to the site to pay Poshmark, how can I feel confident that their "check" won't bounce/will arrive/not be fake, etc.? This is how bank account information gets stolen- by depositing scammer checks. Clearly neither side trusts the other on the site and that is why I feel it's going to fail. I'm removing my items and gonna try to sell on EBay or TheRealReal. I did not like TheRealReal because I felt their fees were too high but all of my designer brand items did sell- and Poshmark is clearly not an option at all. Plus I don't get why I have hundreds of followers added everyday but still not a sale has been made when I have brand new or worn only 1-2 times items priced from $25-250 (original price paid was $250-$1000). You'd think with that big a range, something would have sold. I'm annoyed that I wasted my time. Don't waste yours!
I've bought many things on Poshmark, and returned about 10% of the items due to misleading descriptions. In each case, Poshmark refunded my money.
1) Many Poshers are not honest. I've learned over the years that as a buyer you need to ask questions and confirm things like No Stains, No Tears or Defects.
2) Many of the Poshers don't photograph the whole item. So I ask for pictures of corners, the bottom of a handbag and for lined handbags for them to pull out the lining and photograph that too.
3) The trouble is the ONLY means of communication are through comments. There's no way to email a seller. So when you have an issue or the seller is nonresponsive, those comments are for everyone to see - I don't feel good about that. I would prefer contact via email.
This week I purchased a new wallet and no response from the seller. I finally emailed Psohamrk, they emailed the seller to remind them to ship and the seller has not responded to Poshmark or me. I have to wait until the 8th day to cancel - that's a pain. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE CHARGE FOR SHIPPING
4) Shipping takes a long time. 90% of the time I have to leave a comment to get them to ship before 7 days.
5) Poshmark does not hold their buyers to any type of standard.
I will be canceling my Postmark account after I cancel this last order and get a refund. With so many choices like E-Bay, Amazon, and Tradesy I see no reason to put up with poor service, late shipments, and non-responsive sellers.
My ADVICE - Shop on e-Bay!
One day I got 4 $#*!ing scammers wanting to send checks. Hell to the naw. W the same paragraph of garbage. Never use it's trash. Run far away of this $#*!ing $#*! show of a site. -25 stars
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
