I sold a Burberry jacket and the buyer claimed that I listed the size incorrectly and requested a refund. I asked for photo evidence, which they did not provide, and I also asked the buyer what her issue with the item was and she admitted that it just didn't fit the way she wanted it to, NOT that I had sent her the incorrect item or that I had a misleading listing. Poshmark approved her case and I will not receive funds for the item and the buyer has to send the item back but there is no guarantee I will receive it (I have not received items as a buyer before though they claim they were delivered- luckily they comped me anyway in those situations). The buyer blatantly violated their terms and Poshmark violated their own terms. I broadcasted this to my followers and Poshmark removed my messages and has threatened to delete my account. This business is unethical and I am not even sure I will get my item back in good condition, if at all! Their customer service is inept and copies and pastes replies rather than looking at each individual case. I wish I had seen these reviews first - it looks like they always side with the buyer no matter what! UNETHICAL! DON'T SELL HERE!
If you want to spend 5x the energy listing and sharing your items than you do on most other online sales sites and communities, Poshmark is for you. Hate well-organized shopping sites with advanced search capabilities? Poshmark is designed with you in mind.
You'll also like it if you don't mind at least half of your purchases arriving late or being cancelled with no explanation. Oh, and if you enjoy idiosyncratic, unprofessional customer service.
Still not sure if Poshmark is for you? It is if you love to spend 10x as long shopping online... many of the "closets" of items to choose from are "abandoned," so you'll either never get a response to Qs or you'll actually buy something and it will never be processed. Poshmark thus brings a much-needed "surprise" element to your shopping!
It helps if you also enjoy listings without basic info like materials, brand, etc., and if you like a good 50% of your purchases arriving damaged or broken, with another 15% being sent to someone else. Needed a dress for a wedding? Lucky you! You got someone else's bathing suit instead. Plus you'll need a last-minute replacement b/c your dress won't arrive in time from the other buyer. Refund for the trouble? Nah. Your item was delivered as promised! (They didn't promise it would get to YOU - but it *did* arrive somewhere else across the country. What did you expect?)
Still interested? If you aren't occupied enough with your other social media accounts, have time to burn, and are looking to find a new family, not just a new purse, then you're in luck! With Poshmark, if you want to be a successful and "trusted" seller, you get to spendhours cultivating by finding, liking, and sharing other people's closets (and don't forget the motivational quotes, sharing games, and parties! Who needs straightforward shopping when you can be having fun with your new Posh family instead?)
What's that? It must be cheaper shipping and lower commission fees for anyone to put up with all the crap?
Nope! Higher fees and shipping. What more do you need? Thanks, Poshmark!
At first i loved it! I was selling a lot and earning enough money to pay bills and such. But then i noticed something, i started selling more expensive things and realized poshmark was taking more money from me. It says that they take out $5 every item in order to pay fro the shipping label. I would put up a shirt for $25 and my earnings would be $20. Thats normal i guess but i posted something for $100 and my earnings were $80! If they only take out $5 then why aren't my earnings $95 it pisses me off! The more expensive the item the more they take from you! And the shipping labels are for 5 pound items when we all know poshmark sellers don't sell anything for 5 pound unless its a heavy bag or bundling a bunch of stuff so i shouldn't have to pay $5 to ship a t-shirt! I went to the post office to ship off a pair of shoes and they said that im losing a lot of money because they didn't weigh 5 pounds. Poshmark is makeing more money from the sellers than the sellers are! Im thinking about just selling my stuff on ebay or something. I need to find a new app that is legit. Not a scam!
After reading the reviews on here, I am not sure why so mant people do not like Poshmark. I've purchased over 20 things on there, and sold a lot of things and I have never had an issue. What people need to do is actually read the FAQ article when they join posh and find out information. When it comes to purchasing from someone on posh, use common sense. Purchase from people who have a lot of followers, and have a lot of listings sold. Also, go back and look through the comments on the sold listings. Looking through the comments on the sold listings will usually give you a good idea as to whether or not the person is reliable, because if there is a shipping issue or an issue with the product, 99% of the time the buyer will comment on the listing. As for the 20% that poshmark takes, I'm fine with it, since the shipping is already paid for. Moral of the story, use common sense on poshmark. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
It's a great concept and could be a great company overall but they are missing key factors such as quality control. I sold a pair of boots that were returned. Fine, if unhappy that's understandable. However the buyer returned my item without the original box it was shipped in and the additional heel replacements. When I contacted customer service they issued me a $15 credit. How can you possibly trust that your items are transferred responsibly and how can they not take full responsibility and expect me to accept my item other than the original condition it was sent in. Bad Bad Business Policy.
You see the SAME people have host picks over and over right? Well Posh has great customer service with them it seems like but all the rest of us it's nonexistent! I sold a girl a AUTHENTIC Lakers jersey and she reported it to posh and I even sent photos and evidence it was authentic but they just sent it back and never got back to me. The girl ends up telling me she only needed it for a party for one day so she sent it back... ummmm?
The never protect their sellers (period). I understand trading is frowned upon but when a user is blatantly scamming many people and blocking them so you can't do anything about it. You report it to Posh (at least 4-5 people have *******@briianarene at this point) and they do nothing about it. Trading isn't prohibited otherwise I wouldn't do it. No customer service to speak of... it's a bunch of cliquey women/girls that if you're in the " in crowd" you do well, otherwise they could care less about you.
@lilbolluyt is a posher, she is on Poshmark. I have made so many purchases of hers and she is a honest seller, she described her items how they are and i have no complaints. I have a group of people i buy from but i visit her closet the most. I also recommend shopping *******@theadente,@ psaltis2001,,@rivanarusso,@ashlettanner. And so on, I love my group of sellers and i would recommend them to ANYONE who loves posh.
I had two opposite experiences with this website on the different versions of the same shirt.
One seller sent me a perfect item, almost unused, at a great price, quickly, with a nice note inside.
The other person sold me the same item at a higher price (after rejecting my initial offer), waited over a week to send the item (I couldn't send that person a message asking why), when I received it, it was blatantly the wrong thing (a cheaper, used, armpit stained shirt also by J. Crew) and then the website offered me 48 hours to use the shipping label to return it (on a 4 day legal us holiday weekend). In conclusion I will never use this site again because clearly there is no quality control or fair way to communicate with sellers.
I sold a pair of red bottoms and they have not deposited my money yet. They keep sending me the same copy emails. Then they sent me saying they deposited 12.00 in a key bank account which is not mines and my deposit is for 228.00 they dont have no contact numbers. They are a fraud!
I will never sell anything on Poshmark again. Very rude buyers. I will take to my local consignment shop from now on.
Poshmark has a major issue with communication and their team operates in the most sloppy manner that you could ever imagine.
I sold a pair of brand new shoes with tags all over them marked size 7. The girl who purchased them got the shoes and marked that I incorrectly listed the size. I immediately sent the images of the product to Poshmark and they ignored my email and approved her case. After asking for a week straight I finally got the image that the girl sent in - they weren't even the right color shoe! Poshmark admitted their fault after another week, yet I still don't have my shoes or a refund. They have blocked me from their Facebook page for leaving my story for everyone to see with photo evidence. They do not have a phone number and their customer service takes 2-4 days to respond to each email, and even so - each response is canned with no personalization added at all. Their company is a MESS!
Do not, I repeat do not sell anything on Poshmark! I sold a pair of Steve Madden heels, only worn once, on their website. I only wore them once cause they were too uncomfortable for my feet being that I am flat footed. These shoes cost over $100 and I sold them to a girl that harassed me for a week straight to lower the price from $50 to $40. The girl gets the shoes and reports them as damaged which I knew already was a lie because the shoes were damn near brand new. Poshmark of course has a no return policy and I wrote them telling them it would be okay for her to return the shoes if she hasn't damaged them to get her measly $40 back and they ignored every email and phone call from me. They sent the shoes back and she had completely destroyed them. She removed the sole from the shoe and now they look horrible. Despite the picture proof that I sent them of the shoes being intact before I shipped them to her. They are the worst company in the world. As a matter of fact they don't even deserve to be called a company. They are a joke! Save yourself the time and headache and don't do business with them!
To many girls sell clothes from asian wholesale websites and also used makeup isn't allowed and girls still do it. Poshmark needs to check there users and there listings. I was harassed by a girl non stop poshmark refused to help. Also stock photos shouldn't be allowed many girls use that but the item is completely different. Also Since poshmark doesn't follower there rules they should be closed and they cheat you.
UPDATE: My sister bought a so called gucci bag and its fake postmark refuses to refund her we are filing a dispute with our lawyers this is bs posh needs to be shut down.
I have been on Poshmarks for several months now. The people on there seem to be the rudest I have ever encountered. Not to mention I get so many low ball offers its ridiculous. My quality items never sell. My favorite site to sell on by far is Tradesy. I never have had a rude person on there. I love it because there are no offers. I sell about one item per week.
The customer service is beyond lazy and rude. They take exorbitant fees as well. I had to write customer service 5 times! Literally 5 times and still no response. It's like the company is run by ten years olds who don't give a crap.
I sold a couple things and had 5stars, happy people. Then one person must have had buyers remorse and that = bad profile info for me. The item was moderately priced and flawless
There are many reasons that you should avoid poshmark and I'll tell you why.
1 No "actual " customer service. The phone number that you found online is completely useless, it goes straight into the voicemail and it's pain in the butt to write email back and forth.
2 People sometimes are rude and leave nasty comment under your picture because the price that you're selling is too high or sometimes they just leave unnecessary comment but you can't even delete them? And those comments make it looks like your fault but at the same time you can't delete it so you have to repost it.
3 Buyer can rate about the transaction but seller cannot. So if the bad rating is based on a untrue fact, you can't do anything.
Personal experience:
If you decide to sell on poshmark. Be careful to have all of the pictures of your items and the shipping receipt. I have heard all kinds of scary story on poshmark and due to the poor system on poshmark, don't expect too much from them.
I recently just sold an item and the buyer files a claim saying that my item was damaged, stained and broken. Poshmark didn't inspect the items by themselves which is not fair for the seller. They simply asked for the picture from the buyer and decide to ship the items back to me? Furthermore, the buyer came to my page leaving nasty comment and harassing me. I'm writing an email now and hope to file a claim for prove my item is not damage, broken or stained. Please do not use this site if you don't want to go through the unnecessary process like me. There's a lot more better place to sell your used clothes than poshmark and they have better protection for both the buyers and sellers too.
UPDATE:
Just trying to be clear, my item wasn't damaged or stained. As soon as I received my item returned from the buyer, I took a couple pictures and wrote an email to the customer service to file a claim for their mistake. 2-3 days after, I heard back from them. Poshmark apologized and refunded me the money.
I have been on Posh for a little over a year now. I started as a buyer. Now I sell too. I had one bad experience with seller false statements about an item. I reached out to Posh and the issue was resolved immediately. I had a package that I shipped get lost in the mail. Posh paid me and refunded my buyer too. So for me I love Poshmark. It's a great way to get rid of one time worn or never worn items in my closet. Happy Poshing!
Buyers Beware! No protection from the company! Seller stated dress was a size 6 and would only fit a size 2! Will never visit this site again! Company didnt email or respond to any of my requests. Seller even agreed to refund me because she knew it would never fit a size 6 and posh company totally disregarded the issue without any response. Dont understand how this selling site can be allowed to sell online!
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
