I sold and shipped $60 pants. The USPS tracking showed them as delivered but the buyer claimed she never got them. The Poshmark investigated and released my payment as well as fully compensated the buyer. In my opinion, it shows how Posh cares about their sellers AND buyers. I'm sold and will stay with Posh for a long time.

Poshmark is Great!
October 7, 2015

Well all the reviews that I have read just shows me that those people don't know what they are doing. It is laughable. Poshmark is great and I have not had one problem.

Unprofessional
October 3, 2015

I recently sold a purse on Poshmark. I was very excited about getting rid of old stuff and getting paid for it. I have 3 offers standing on my account now. However, I'm not accepting them because when I sent my first package off, I waited what seems like FOREVER to receive my money direct deposit. So I finally see it say completed on the 4th day... But it's not in my account... I can't contact NOBODY, only email I got in respondance was an automated reply stating they receive my email and it'll take 1-2 business days to get a reply. This is VERY upsetting! I'm thinking about closing my account. My dad is a lawyer and I'm seriously thinking about getting him involved. I will NOT allow this to happen to any other people. They better respond... And better respond quick!

They give shipping labels the day before the sale date instead of date your suppose to send out, which is unreliable because the post office won't always scan or even take it in some cases if the date doesnt match the ship date. Issue in their system really needs to be fixed.

I've been buying and selling for about a month, and so far, so good. But you have to know what their policies and guidelines are, follow them, and if something seems to be too good to be true, it probably is. I also wouldn't buy anything really high end, regardless of their guarantees. Also, for a lot of things, you can find similar items, from different sellers. So if its something you want, look around and get a feel for what it sold for originally, and what others are selling it for. Know what your getting, and whether or not its a fair price for what it is.

Also, check out seller's feedback. If it's all positive, and it shows they ship quickly, chances are, you won't get scammed. And in return, be honest about the condition of the items you sell. And detailed. I may be guilty of too much detail, but I don't want there to be any question as to the condition of something I sold. If there are flaws, be up front, and also price accordingly.

As for pricing; don't expect top dollar, even in new condition. I've sold items and seen (same thing, maybe different pattern) NWT listed for much more. Be realisitc as to what you can get for something.

As for the lowballers, scammers, etc. I usually just respond politely, or if its an offer, either counter or decline. But I don't let it get to me. And yes, it is work. I also work FT, so sometimes I don't really feel like liking and sharing, etc. Which is fine since I'm not in any hurry to sell my stuff.

I joined to try and thin out my closet, and make some $$ in the process. While I've only sold a small percentage of what's in my Posh closet, I have nothing but great feedback, and nice notes.

So overall, I like the site, and how they operate, but you have to be aware of how they work, and so on.

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GARBAGE
September 25, 2015

I sold a rare, limited edition necklace on Poshmark that you can no longer purchase from the actual vendor. I packaged it very securely and wrapped it in bubble wrap several times. Next thing I know, the buyer is filing a claim saying the necklace does not match the listing. Apparently a couple of clasps came off, and she wanted to return it. She even contacted me directly via email and sent me pictures. Stupid idea, because I could clearly see that the clasps were ripped off by pliers, and that kind of damage could not occur during the shipment process.

Poshmark never even reached out to me. Next thing I know, I receive another email saying they are approving the return. Um hello, where is the buyer protection here? Don't you guys have an insurance deal with the shipping company? I sent an email response to Poshmark complaining about this whole ordeal, and received a very light hearted reply, that definitely seemed computer generated.

So thanks a lot Poshmark, now I am receiving back a broken rare necklace that never had any issues to begin with. Such a joke!

Use your brain.
September 22, 2015

I joined poshmark about a month ago and have enjoyed it. I joined to get rid of clothes I have worn and no longer wear to make some extra $$. I have read a lot of poor reviews and here is the thing: If you are buying something and the product looks fake or the seller seems sketchy DO NOT BUY IT. That isn't Poshmarks fault. Whether you are a buyer or seller have a relationship with the person you are selling to/buying from. If they never answer or refuse to post a picture of the wear tear (if there is any) then DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Use the "about" button to see their average ship time. If they have sold hundreds of items and they have lots of love notes and their ship time is 1-3 days you are definitely in the clear--but if they have three listings from a year ago and their "Chanel" bag looks fake and their ship time is 6 days stay away. Use your brain. As a seller it isn't as easy as just taking a picture and letting it sit. There are literally millions of users on poshmark... so YES you do have to share other clothes and befriend other sellers. I have two jobs and I posh on the side and it really isn't that difficult... you do have to put effort into it but you have to put effort into any job, relationship, school, etc etc. I like poshmark. It is what you make of it. And even though I have only been on here a month I have sold several things. I list it correctly and I have gotten 5 stars all around. Just use your brain and if you dont want to work at selling your clothes then it will probably be hard to sell them ANYWHERE. If you are a buyer be SMART! Read reviews and ask the questions (true to size, any wear and tear, style numbers, fabric, etc etc etc). I am a fan of poshmark because it is something fun I do on the side where I can make some extra cash. It's also great because the clothes I never wear that I have kept in good condition can be loved by someone else!

I've decided to close my poshmark account as i dont trust their judgment in protecting the buyer and the seller in the transactions. I had a negative experince both as a buyer and a seller with poshmark and i will make sure i express my opinion on social media anytime i have the opportunity. Last time, i sold my Chanel glasses with perfect condition but the buyer decided to scratch my glasses in order to return it and now i can even sell that glasses anymore. Stay away from poshmark.

So far very unhappy
September 19, 2015

I ordered an item 5 days ago it says item should ship within 2-5 days waiting for confirmation I emailed posh they got back to me quickly and said if item doesn't ship in 7 days I can cancel I just want the item why can't they monitor the sellers and the sale... I understand there are a lot of people on posh selling stuff but damn... they sure did take my money quick now I know the seller doesn't get the money till I accept item but it's time consuming looking for the right item and then sitting around wondering if it will ever come... this is my first and last purchase on posh I now don't trust anyone if I ever get my item I might change my review and my mind but I doubt it... I thought this was a good site now I'm thinking not so much

Be careful on this site.
September 14, 2015

I am upset for 2 reasons. #1 a pair of shoes have not reached me and were sent to me on 08/30/2015. #2 is a pair of shoes which are listed as low heel and they are high heels, the right shoe has 6 rips and the paint is missing off of the heel. I feel as it the seller should have at least mentioned these flaws to give me the option of buying damaged goods but she listed them as being in good shape and hardly worn. I am done with poshmark after today for sure.
Kimi *******@kimid is not being truthful and on top of that she told me I should have asked questions. If you post a picture why do I need to ask anything.
There is no way to post a picture before shrinking it and no one to submit claims to.

Not a Fan of Their Policies
September 11, 2015

-Sellers are allowed 7 Days to mail out an item. This is an absurdly lengthy amount of time to take a used item already on hand and place it in the mail.

-Buyer is only given 3 days to put in a complaint. How is it that the the seller is allocated 7 days of laddie-da time to do whatever but the buyers aren't given the same courtesy?

-No picture minimum for sellers on listings. I just feel like this should be standard... I've seen so many posting here with shady buyers attempting to con sellers and it could all be solved if more proof were handy.

-No private messaging. How am I supposed to contact my seller or buyer discreetly? Commenting "Hey, it's been 4 days and you've updated your closet but not sent my shipment... what gives?" is just weird.

I joined Poshmark in 3/15 and I have no issues with anything thus far, I have had a few slow shipments from sellers but that is all. I like it for myself to clean out my closets and drawers of items I use no longer. I do not try to make my money back from items but mark them at prices that are reasonable considering these items are not brand new. I also take into consideration that the shipping method used is $5 USPS Priority Mail. So I make the price with shipping below what people would pay at the store. I make more than if I sell it at a yard sale anyway. I have had some ridiculous offers but then I counteroffer and usually a deal is reached. I use the proceeds to buy from other sellers. I have had no bad experiences but then I go by the old saying "If it is too good to be true then it is!". So I stay away from questionable ads and sellers. I have noticed that there are some of the same "Buy It Now" sellers selling the same knock off junk that is sold on Ebay, Etsy and Amazon. This is something that could be a problem for the other sellers who are actually selling their used name brand items such as MAC, Dior, Chanel, Gucci, Michael Kors, Coach and others. I always ask if something is still available as some sellers sell on other sites too or abandon their closets. This is not a site for those who think they will make big money. It is not that sort of site. I have done moderately well using Poshmark and I like the other sellers... thus far!

Yes, there are a few successful sellers in poshmark but overal there are many unsuccessful sellers who are trying very hard to sell one item.
After an initial and unsuccessful try to sell my extra items in 2013 I left the site for almost 1.5 years. Last month I started back a gain do to many emails. During the past year I even did not look at my poshmark closet even once. I sold some of my original items in other sites or donate them.
Well I found out I just had one chance for selling one item!
This time I followed the direction and tried so much harder and sold one new shoes that worth about $40 for $10 and got $ $7
I still believe that poshmark started with great idea but the poor performance for sellers are due to many weaknesses of the site. The amount of profit poshmark is making maybe is satisfying its owner and management but by eliminating a few obvious weaknesses poshmark can double or triple its profits.
The search category is designed wrong for example I was looking at Interview outfits and children clothing shoed up!
Th re are many other weaknesses that I am sure the managment knows and ignore!

This seller is SO wired. I bought a scarf 2 months ago but she never shipped it or never replied to the comments. So I moved on.
Last week she tagged that the scarf is available and she even re list it for me. But still no shipments for a week so I left few comments by asking if she is going to ship it or not this time. Instead of reply or shipping it out... she blocked me.
I just don't understand. So So wired,
Then I have noticed that there are a LOT of item were sold but never shipped out. She will re list it but won't ship it and relist it and no shipping. NUT!
Stay away from " kas*******'. Don't waste your time and money. Seriously!

I started selling on this app. And loved it at first! Then I realized you had to share, share, share everyday and also follow all of these people that don't even have items for sale. You also have to answer stupid questions, deal with LOWBALL offers and also use STUPID pet names like LOVE and DOLL! Also lots of young girls selling junk! NO way this is for bored people who have nothing better to do but sit around and like and share all day, oh and take pictures of themselves in the items they just purchased and just want to share. Like really who freakin cares! I will stick to Ebay it's the best!
